System went down so check in process didn't work. Car wasn't ready even though i was told it would be. Once I did get a car, it smelled like cigarette smoke so I asked for a new one. Customer service was helpful though so they did resolve the issues once i brought them up.Reviewed 20 June 2024

Waited for a disturbingly long time for the shuttle from the airport. Other rental agencies’ shuttles came through 5 or 6 times before the one Hertz shuttle came. Then waited again in line at the agency, watched as two rental agents just wandered around and talked to other agents even though there was a long line of customers. I didn’t get the car I reserved, instead I was told “you can pick whichever one you want from Section 1”. Well, there was slim pickins for sure and everyone else who had just been in line was trying to get the same cars. It was like kids on the playground running to be the first to get the dodgeballs. Even though I could have picked “anything” the brand of car I actually reserved wasn’t there at all, not one, and I upgraded on the reservation website just to get that car. Also, the agent kept trying to get me to upgrade to a camaro, even though it was clear I was driving through the night to get to my destination and then drop off the car. Why would I want to drive a camaro over mountain passes at night in the winter? Come on, Hertz. You can do better.Reviewed 22 Nov 2021

1. The Hertz bus never picked me up. I waited for over 30 minutes with a growing crowd. The bus came but only let five or six people on, leaving me and at least 50 others at the curb. Eventually I took Uber to the Hertz rental near the airport. The other ten people in line had all taken Uber or caught rides on shuttles from other car rental companies. 2. My car key was difficult to remove from the ignition. Every time I parked, I would have to rotate my steering wheel left and right to get my key out.Reviewed 16 Nov 2021

Reservation system not responsive to changes we made to length of the rental period after the initial reservation was made and before travel began. Had to wait for a manager to adjust the records when we returned the car. Pros:The shuttle bus was packed, as all the passengers were shoulder to shoulder in a pandemic. My car was not available (nor was the car ready for everyone else in line). I was asked to wait additionally or upgrade at my cost. The check out person said there were no scratches on my car because none were listed on the form after I pointed out some of the scratches!
