At pickup in Kansas city the Agent was awesome! She was professional, courteous, and extremely nice. When I dropped off in Chicago, there was no one in the office, so young lady just said to leave the keys in the suv and that was it. It was my first time renting a car, and nothing was explained to me. The process was confusing, I was not told how to choose a car and to only choose a car that had a sticker seal on the door. I had to figure it out myself. The Kansas City location at the airport did not document pre-existing damage to the car I chose and the Houston location tried to make me pay for the damage even though I had my own pictures to prove it. The Houston location also made me pay extra to detail the car due to THREE dog hairs on the floor that transferred from my luggage. The Houston staff member that checked me out was unfriendly, pushy and unprofessional. I will never, I repeat never, use Hertz again. The vehicle was well maintained and clean. The attendant was pleasant; however, the seemingly obligatory up-sell pitch was there particularly in regards to the damage waiver. Damage waivers started at $49 and went up to $69 depending on the level. I purchased a damage waiver from a competitor a week earlier and paid $11.
