Cons:Everything was fine, except the truck had clearly not been cleaned prior to pick up. A little dirty might be acceptable, but it was just gross and smelly.Reviewed 16 Jun. 2020

It Hurts to Rent From HertzPros:I liked the ease of renting through Kayak. I don't have much nice to say about the Hertz experience.Cons:The checkout process took an obscene amount of time. The only guy working the counter spent twenty to thirty minutes with the guy that was already at the counter when we arrived. He was bs-ing with the customer and practically fist bumped him throughout the conversation. He loudly mentioned at least three different times about the amazing upgrades he was giving to him for free. I literally checked the cancellation policy while standing there because of the ridiculousness that was occurring. Unfortunately for us, Hertz required us to pay in advance and didn't allow for cancellations. We were going to cancel and walk to any of the competitors with open counters. As we stood there, more and more customers lined up behind us. All the other competitors kept their counters moving at midnight when we were there. (It's not like it was rush hour and he couldn't keep up.) Finally the rental agent's "bro" left with his multiple "free" upgrades and then it was our turn. Even though we were perturbed about the obscene amount of time it took and just wanted to go after long flights, we were polite and friendly -- not that he deserved it. He practically was a mute when we were there. Asked us if we had insurance and told him we purchased Allianz through Kayak. He rolled his eyes and asked who we use for our personal car. He asked for our credit card. I told him it was already paid for. He grunted and swiped the card anyway. No explanation, just a grunt. Told us to go get the car from the lot. That was it. No friendly chat. No professionalism. No direction where to get from at the lot. In any case, Hertz has no signage in the lot. And the numbers don't align with the large number signs hanging in the lot. So we literally pushed on the lock/unlock until we heard it make noise and walked in that direction. The car has been picked up from the previous person, but it wasn't clean and nor was it washed. As there was no one at the attendant booth, we took a photo of the large scratch on the passenger door in case they tried to claim we damaged it. When we dropped it off, there again was no signage for Hertz, unlike all the other brands. When we found it, once again there was a crowd of aimless people because there was no attendant. We took a picture of the odometer and gas level, locked the car and dropped the keys off in a box by the counter. Others remained waiting. We'll see what the decide to charge to our credit card.... I have all the photos I need to refute any ridiculous claims. I rent cars several times a year. This was my first and last experience with Hertz.Reviewed 23 Oct. 2017

Help Strangers with Better DirectionsPros:The airport signs were very clear on where the rental cars needed to be dropped off. The drop off was under a cover.Cons:Hertz Tulsa Airport needs to look at their drop off from a stranger's viewpoint. Their sign on which aisle to take was not initially noticeable. From there, which slot to park in was also not clear. The sign about the lack of an attendant was unclear. Where was the attendant supposed to be? Was he/she supposed to be in recognizable clothing? Where was the drop off box? It took far too long to just return a car and a key. Wandering around a parking lot at 9:00 at night is not an appropriate requirement for a tired senior citizen.Reviewed 7 Jan. 2017

Hiccups at pick-up, but otherwise finePros:Drop-off was a complete breeze. The price was great. I was pleased with the features available in the base model (iPod connectivity, hands-free phone).Cons:I reserved a Q4, but none were available when I picked up. Rather than drive a minivan (which I do every day, so wanted something different), I waited an extra 10-15 minutes for the Q4 I booked. It was only a minor inconvenience, but what I don't understand is this. When I book a Q4, why are you not holding a Q4 for me? I just don't get it! I also haven't yet received an emailed copy of my receipt.Reviewed 10 Apr. 2017

Not happyCons:The individual at the counter attempted to gouge me with extra cost. I always use Hertz so I waa quickly alerted something was wrong. In addtn there were extra cost added on, such as car being returned at the time stated on the kayak reservation which the agent at the counter attempted to charge extra for. I'm not happy and will likely not use hertz anymore at Tulsa airportReviewed 18 Jan. 2016

Live Roach in the Glove CompartmentPros:Not much of a line in the airport when picking up the car.Cons:The live roach in the glove compartment was very off-putting. This isn't Hertz's fault, I don't think, but, the NOLA airport needs better signage for picking up cars when one is coming in from the street, rather than from an airplane.Reviewed 4 Jan. 2016
