The staff was incredibly rude and degrading. Even though the rental car was reserved and pre-paid, not only was the car not available, but the manager began asking me very nasty questions about my name, and implied that my driver license was not mine, and made other rude and offensive remarks. The manager wasted my time for 30 minutes, and then did not provide a vehicle. I was very shocked and disturbed by the rude and offensive attitude at HERTZ / DOLLAR. I went to ENTERPRICE RENTAL-CAR and got a car in five minutes there, and I was treated nicely at ENTERPRISE.Cons:
They need to hire a new staff and train them on customer service. The manager at this location was the crudest person working there, so I think they need a complete overhaul.10.0 Wonderful

No record of reservtaion upon arrival. Clerk stated no cars available, then ameneded it to only minivans available. I insisted on being given a minivan. Was told it would take 45 minutes for it to be prepared. Fuel tank half full. Nothing in paperwork to reflect this. I took photo of mileage and fuel tank.Cons:

No record of reservation for rental when I arrived. Clerk said no cars available. After I wouldn't leave without a car, clerk told me minivans were available, but it would take 45 minutes to prepare it for rental. Gas tank was half full. More complicated than that. Eventually got things straightened out , but took way too much of my time-and money-I returned it with more gas than was in the tank when I picked it up.Cons:

Budget Car Rental in Naples, FL took advantage and ripped me off. I booked a reservation at a cost of $85.05. When I picked the car up, I asked if it would be possible to change the drop off location since it was an hour and a half from where I live. I said I didn’t mind paying a little more to get a closer drop-off. He said he could change the location but the reservation was locked in and he would have to cancel and redo the reservation. I said (exact wording) “that would be fine if he could change the drop-off location”. Normally I would have caught what he did right away, but I was there in a panic because my father was in Hospice dying and I just wanted to get there to be with him. I was visibly upset and crying. He re-did the reservation, he charged me $100 more but at that point, I thought the drop-off location had been changed, (Again I should have noticed this before I left the office or car lot but I was just too upset). He apparently traded my unlimited mileage vehicle for one that charges mileage (I was traveling from Naples, FL to Crystal River, FL (260 miles). He deleted my additional collision coverage as well as put me in an entirely different vehicle which I took as a free upgrade as they do when there is no car available on the lot. The agent did not do the one thing I requested - change the drop off location. He should have known there was no other drop-off location in our area before he canceled the 1st reservation – after all that is his job, isn't it? I realized what happened when I got to Hospice, I called customer service they said we can't help you, you signed the paperwork agreeing. I explained the entire situation, that I was extremely distraught; they basically said too bad. When I got to the other end I asked the agent where I dropped the car off if there was anything he could do, he said NO. I travel a lot; I have rented cars from Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo, and National where every kind of problem has arisen over the years, domestically and internationally and they have always worked hard to accommodate me in whatever way they can. It wasn’t that Budget wasn’t able to change the drop-off location, I booked it that way by mistake, that part was 100% my fault - but it's what they did when I asked “if” they could get me a closer drop-off location. I WILL NEVER USE BUDGET AGAIN! THE AGENT DID WRONG AND IT WAS OBVIOUS - BUDGET’S CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST DIDN'T CARE, I paid $100 more and the agent did not give me the one thing I asked for. Lesson learned.Ace

The staff was confusing, rude, added extra charges to rental, had to drive back to naples to figure out why because the local office wouldn't answer the phone and the national office has no customer service on weekends. Chevy spark was not a great car, but was economy priced. Beyond that, the brakes were a little weirdCons:

When we arrived at the Thrifty counter to pick up the car we were told that they didn't have our reservation in their system and that they were sold out for the day. We need to wait over an hour for another car to arrive that we could rent on a day when time was of the essence.5.2 Fair

It was pouring with rain. The clerk was ok but didn't do anything extra. I circled back to double check where the car was parked and was given the same vague instructions. Not once did she mention that Thrifty has no signs in the lot. I was soaked by the time I hit the panic button and found my vehicle. Returning the car, I didn't refill it. I was charged $10/gallon! That was not mentioned at check in. It doubled the price of my rental. Really unacceptable.10.0 Wonderful
