The airport policy is to have a credit card. Kayak did not know that. I wasted my money to pay someone to take me to get the rental to be told I could not rent it. It would have been nice to know all facts and information in advance.Reviewed 20 Sept 2026

They didn't honor the Ford Transit I'd reserved and instead offered me a minivan. I arrived at the counter and they told me if I wanted the car I reserved, I'd need to pay an ADDITIONAL $105 per day for an "upgrade." I showed them the email that identified that I had booked a Transit. They didn't care. The manager was extremely rude and ran off when I asked them to honor the original reservation. This was extremely disruptive because I'd a trip planned that included 9 passengers. I did NOT reserve a minivan, but a 12-passenger van because of this reason. I think potentially Kayak messed up this reservation (putting the transit as a preference not a requirement). However, my email confirmation said Transit. Either way i didn't get the car, my reservation was canceled, and I was left scrambling. That DCA Thrify location was the absolute worst customer experience I had ever had.Reviewed 17 Sept 2026
