What could have been better was the fact that I shouldn’t need a major line credit card just to rent a car! I have kids, a verifiable job and still can’t get a car?! That’s insane. If a customer has the money for the amount quoted then I should be able to swipe a debit card or give cash and be able to get the car!Reviewed 20 Nov 2025

When I arrived at Avis, they simply said “will a pick up truck be acceptable?” I said yes and then she ran my card. At no point did she tell me that she was up charging me versus what I booked. At no point did I sign anything. I was told where to go to pick it up. That was it. I was asked to buy a damage waiver, but there was nothing to indicate pre-existing damage (there was some - in fact the bumper was touching a pillar in the parking garage.) Imagine my surprised when I got a significantly higher than expected bill. Avis did this same thing to my wife a couple months ago. They claimed she agreed to it and produced and electronically signed document.Reviewed 4 Oct 2024

If they don't have cars, they shouldn't take reservations. When I arrived there was a list of people waiting to get a car for their "reservation." I was looking at 45 minutes just to find out IF they had a car for me. Will not be using Avis again ...Reviewed 16 Nov 2023

The car was banged up and smelled like smoke when I picked it up and then as I was driving north to DC at night, had to turn back and drive about 20-30 miles to return the car for a new replacement because BOTH back tail lights were out. It would have never known except someone on the highway honked and flashed lights to get my attention to tell my my lights were out... which is very dangerous. When I went to replace the car, they were very kind and made it easy - which was appreciated since I had to backtrack to return the other car. However, the car the replaced it with ended up having some emergency warning signs about the automatic rear breaking system malfunctioning. I had to pull over to read the vehicle manual - but because I was in the middle of no where had to continue on until I got into DC and could return it. Not a good experience at all.Reviewed 10 Oct 2022
