Hertz schemed us. BEWARE! !!!!!!Pros:We booked a 2 day rental through kayak. Nowhere on the kayak website (or hertz website for this matter) it said that the driver name and name on credit card used for paying must be the same. When we arrived to the hertz counter they refused to give us a car or change the reservation (even though hertz customer service said they could) and told us we had to open a new reservation. We were in a hurry to get to a time sensitive reservation so we went through with it. All of a sudden our 133$ original order bulged up to 315$!!!! And they schemed us to get insurance telling us the renters insurance we got from Allianz will not cover the new reservation (total and complete lie, but we were in a hurry and they took advantage) and also implied that the insurance is mandatory. When we returned the car we confronted the manager (rude one named theresa) and she said that all conversations are recorded and she will check if it's the case. Less then 3 minutes later she came back (no way on earth she located and listened to the conversation) and told us that we have been explained and that we are done for (so we wont be able to rent a car from hertz again-like we ever gonna...) Pros:Counter staff was excellent however 1st car stank of pot/ marijuana. 2nd car was good, mileage was recordered incorrectly in system (off 300 miles) however agent at exit was great and updated it.Cons:Drop off does not provide a receipt at time of drop off unlike others like Enterprise.Reviewed 27 Nov. 2020

Worst Hertz Ever - Seattle AirportPros:Car was fineCons:Worst customer service ever of hundreds of car rentals for this Hertz Gold member. Only two in line so expected quick stop in route to car to check details. Finally, I was first in line but after 10 minute wait for one of the three agents to free up, the first available agent put her hand up and said, "I'm on break" and walked off. The break was a doozy as I waited more than 15 minutes for another agent to free up as they laughed and shared local travel advice to the customers they STILL were with. I finally got to an agent who couldn't provide the managers name/number and didn't understand why I - and by now the 6 other people in line were swearing off Hertz forever including those at the non-functional kiosks. Cons:The car had a couple mechanical issues. Back hatch window kept opening while we were driving and we got a flat while simply driving on the road day one. The staff was not very compassionate or helpful and told us since we didn’t purchase the all inclusive insurance (which was an additional $60 a day as compared to the normal $20-$30 I’ve paid with other rental companies) that we were out of luck and the tire was our problem and if we didn’t get it fixed on our own on our vacation that it would cost us an additional $300 when we returned the car. We ultimately took and had the tire patched (for free mind you) during our road trip but it was a significant inconvenience and the staff did very little for our piece of mind. I was extremely disappointed primarily in the level of customer care and compassion, no one so much as asked us if we were ok or offered any kind of apology for the inconvenience this caused us. I would not recommend hertz and I will not be renting from them again.Reviewed 28 Mar. 2021

Cons:We were charged extra upon picking up the rental car even after paying the full amount advertised amount on kayak. Also when we called Hertz emergency contact number, we waited more than 3 hours to speak with someone. Does not seem right to call it emergency service.Reviewed 27 Apr. 2021

Pros:Drop off was very easy and they had many buses to get people to the airport timely.Cons:The line was very long and slow getting the car. The bus line to get to the car place was very long then once we got to the car place the line was so long. I think you need more staff. Then when I finally got through all those lines we had to wait for them to bring the car. The guys washing the cars were moving as fast as they could, but after waiting in all those lines you don’t want to wait for the car too. Cons:A employee could have been onsite to check me in to see that the car had a full tank of gas when I returned and because there wasn’t a employee on-site to verify, their company is fraudulently saying that I returned the car empty and is now charging me $100 for gas on top of the $35 I paid to fill the tank up before dropping it off :(Reviewed 18 May 2021
