Pros:Drop off easy, unlimited milesCons:Pick up was a nightmare, only a couple ppl working, ended up having a long line of ppl funneled to enterprise then to national. Employee didn’t talk to crowd at all to inform or apologize and the crowd/line was constantly asking each other stuff, everyone was confused and in the dark why it was taking so long. Took over an hour to get the car. Luckily we didn’t have to rush off to anywhere this time.Reviewed 27 Jul. 2020

Pros:Very good car and staff made big effortCons:There was only ONE agent to serve a dozen people so we all had to wait in line for 30-40 minutes - she did as good a job as she could but should not have been asked to serve that many people. Everyone else was "on break" - popular these days to blame COVID for such - lame excuse.Reviewed 14 Oct. 2020

No credit card? We do not want your business.Pros:The vehicle selection and how easy it was to make a reservation.Cons:Finding out at 2am when I went to finalize the payment and take delivery of the vehicle (after a 3 hour flight, plus delays), that Alamo would not rent the car to me. Refusal by Alamo to accept the pre-paid card registered in my name as payment; despite accepting my reservation with said card. Despite me having a valid DL to back up-paid card. Despite me willing to make a cash deposit. No credit card? They don't want your business. No Debit card? No thanks. The only good thing about it is that it is unlikely any of the other rental car companies want my business either. Guess that puts them all in one big lump of 'good' compan[ies]. - One dissatisfied McCustomer still looking to be a raving fan of a rental car company that wants my business.Reviewed 2 Apr. 2016

Cons:I just got off a red eye flight and Alamo was my first stop before starting a long drive home. I had reserved a car and had gotten a price quote the previous day. When I arrived at the Alamo desk I was not greeted at all, the agent acted like I was bothering her and seemed as though she got satisfaction from informing me the price would be much higher than I was originally quoted. She snarkily told me to go down to a different company if I didn't like it, which I ended up doing because I needed to get home and refuse to spend money with a company like that. I will never use Alamo again and would not recommend them to anyone I know.Reviewed 11 Dec. 2016

Alamo Fear TacticsPros:The price and efficiency of getting in and getting out of rental location were the positives. Negatives: the Alamo representative tried to up sell me to larger car, which I get is their job, but I had an issue with claim that the additional car insurance coverage described as bumper to bumper by Kayak insurance partner would not cover Alamo's additional charges in case of an accident-which claimed Alamo would charge me the full rental rate for every day the car was out of service. Reminds me why I hate rental car companies. And the Dodge Ashtray I rented was dirty.Reviewed 30 Jan. 2017

Check In Counter Guy at AlamoPros:Value.Cons:Upon picking our economy rental the guy at the Alamo counter proceeded to tell us how he was glad we were not traveling far with our "economy" rental. He went as far as actually insinuating that he wouldn't drive that car on the freeway and that is was potentially unsafe. It was an obvious attempt to get us to upgrade our rental to mid-size. When I jokingly asked him if the car had power steering, he said he wasn't sure but that driving it on the freeway was really sketchy. Give me a break. A four door 2016 Nissan Sentra?! Perfectly adequate car for the freeway. His ploy has obviously worked on others.Reviewed 28 Nov. 2016
