Pros:It was easy pick up but drop off was a nightmare.Cons:The drop off location was full so at 10pm i was trying to find out where i could drop off the vehicle. Then because the location was closed rhe next day they tried to charge me a late fee since no one was there to confirm the vehicle was there. Pros:Nothing, reallyCons:The “special class” car I rented wound up being a Ford Focus. When I inquired about what a non-special class is, the guy said, “compact, economy, midsize” and walked away from me. Upon arrival, when I asked to pay more for a nicer car I was told there were none and everything in the lot was already reserved. Pros:The staff was friendly.Cons:We paid the extra for the Ford Explorer class, and that was confirmed when we arrived, but they were all out of the larger SUVs and gave us a Kia Sorrento. In case you were wondering, there is nowhere near enough storage room in a Kia Sorrento for the potentially 7 people that it holds. The baggage area filled up with two duffle bags. Since there was a comment made when we checked in about using a third-party (Kayak) to book the reservation, we felt like they were implying that we were lucky to get what we got, even though clearly it was smaller and we still paid a premium price. Since we booked through a 3rd party they wouldn’t even consider upgrading us to the next class. They said that too. To their credit they said we could come back the next day to see if they had the vehicle they promised in stock but that was pretty much I’m possible since our plans of three months started that day... the day we thought we would have the vehicle. They charged us a cleaning fee for dog hair, but only after the receiving guy said twice “You’re good” and “yep, you’re all set!” With no mention of a fee. 20 minutes later we got the bill for exactly the rental terms. But then exactly 10 minutes after that first email, we got an updated billing for a cleaning fee, which in the bill read “Cleaning fee interior Accepted $80”. I sincerely feel that they just didn’t care because I used a third party to book the reservation, which will influence how I make reservations in the future, and with who.Reviewed 16 Aug. 2020

Pros:Nothing, absolutely nothing. Worst rental experience ever. Stay far away from the Dulles Airport Hertz location.Cons:Long lines, incompetent and self-righteous reps during checkout procedures. Stayed at relatives house who has dogs. Lady named ORIT insisted I had dogs in the car when I could literally count the hairs on the floor and seat. Charged my account $65. Took pictures. Escalating. She was completely unprofessional, dismissive and rude. Her supervisor, Jessup (not even sure if that's his name because he removed his nametag), was equally incompetent. Zero understanding of what customer service means. Will never rent Hertz again when we return. Your best decsion is to go with one of the other 20 choices at this airport.
