3 Day Cancellation Policy in place on Pre-PayCons:apparently fine print states that if you pay ahead of time, you forfeit your first 3 days of rental fees....given my reservation was for 3 days, i got 0 refund on something I didn't use because my flight got cancelled due to weather. Customer Service terrible, told me to email them and she didn't know If I would get anything, she emailed me the fine print, at which point as we read it, she knew the policy and then told me it was a 3 day cancellation....shady. never pay ahead I suppose. Sixt Car Rental in PhoenixPros:The best part was that there was no line to wait in at the rental car hub at PHX. We've waited up to an hour in line to get a car there in the past with other rental companies, and there was a lot of spring break traffic this time. We were in and out of there in about 15 minutes total and they gave us a better car than we expected. Checking back in was equally fluid. We even had some questions on our billing, and the person at the return desk was able to provide all of the answers we needed.Reviewed 27 Mar. 2017

Pros:It was a good deal for a weeklong rental and the vehicle perfectly suited our needs for the trip. The people who greeted me at both pickup and drop-off were very friendly and helpful.Cons:The van we got was a little beat up and rattled on rough roads but that was really not a big deal as it got us where we were going and was fairly comfortable. We did have one scare towards the end of our trip when we got a "low coolant" warning. I called Sixt Roadside assistance and they basically told me to go to their closest location to have it checked, which was not an option since we were in the middle of nowhere! They then gave me Mercedes support number, which I called and they basically told me to pull over immediately and take it to a Mercedes dealer, which also was not an option. Basically, I researched the issue myself on the internet and found this is a fairly common problem with Mercedes. I checked the fluid levels and monitored engine temperature and everything seemed to be fine. Thankfully no interruption of our trip occurred which would have caused us to miss one of our planned days of sightseeing.Reviewed 26 Apr. 2017

Nickeled and DimedPros:Nothing. Didn't get the car we reserved, Mercedes Benz Metris, got a Dodge Caravan instead. The difference of about 30 cubic feet in cargo space. Comparisons drawn from posted cargo space specs.on line. They said the Dodge was in the same class as the Mercedes, highly unlikely as there was no comparison when comparing the cargo space as even the Toyota and Honda each had 10 more cubic feet in cargo space when compared with the Caravan! Do the math! I did before renting specifically to have the cargo space I needed. I could have rented a Caravan from ANY car rental and it would have been less expensive as well. Silly me for actually trying to plan things out! Not only was the lack of cargo space a huge disappointment, we were given a van that had a black interior and exterior in August in Phoenix Arizona! May I also add the interior was not only black but leather as well! can you say burn my @#$ a second time? As mentioned above I felt I was nickeled and dimed, we had to pay a daily rate for a second driver, my husband, as well as a bunch of misc fees, most of which were at a daily rate and we even declining their ridiculous insurance and "down day's" fees, still the car had just about doubled in price, from my prepayment. You think you have budgeted for your needs and the first day out everything changes! You have NO choice but to accept the fees and additions or not get a car? The women at the counter talked my husband into the prepaid gas option. He asked, "what is the price of a gallon of gas?" She replied "about $2.55", which fell far short from reality, being as low as $1.99. I would say it was her job to represent the pricing in a fair and impartial way as to NOT mislead clients! Repeat customers are the foundation of business! This is one customer that would not repeat this mistake and I certainly would not be baited into renting from Sixt again. I would also not be counted on to give a favorable review. If the job of the customer service representative at the counter is to nickel and dime you with an attitude, you have hit the mark! For me Nein Danke, definitv ein Service Wuste! It is a German Company, they will understand. For those of you who want a translation, No thank you, definetly a service wasteland!Reviewed 23 Aug. 2017

Likely wouldn't use againPros:Returning the car was very easy.Cons:Perhaps it was the long day of travel but getting the car was extremely frustrating. The paperwork took far too long for a pre-paid rental. The upsells were not appreciated (and would not back off) and purposely saying a 4-door wasn't available (there were at least 2 available) when we have 2 small kids to get us to upgrade was just down right dirty. The car they provided us the key fob didn't work. They swapped it out for another car that had not been cleaned. It was fine since we're used to goldfish crackers under the seat but not exactly professional.Reviewed 20 Aug. 2017

SixT car rental in both Dallas and PhoenixPros:The ease of reserving the cars using Kayak prior to my trip and the process at SixT when picking the car up was great. All employees were polite the car was waiting for me and I was in and Out of the rental office in less than 15 minutes. I had to extend my rental by one day and the process was simple and quick. I just making a single phone call. Drop off was fast and easy and I found all of the employees I dealt with to be very polite and competent. Horrible experiencePros:Absolutely nothing. Poor customer service. Placed the order online. Called and talked to someone online about my intentions and was told it was ok went to the counter and stated my same intentions with the counter on the day of the pickup and told me i could not travel out of the state. I was under the impression that I could so long as the car was returned to the state. Miscommunication and horrible customer service. Long story short, I was denied a rental and charged the full price and deposit. No refundCons:I hated everything. Horrible customer service. Horrible communication. Terrible Counter ServicePros:Got different car than advertised, but the Volvo ended up being an adequate vehicle. Pickup at PHX (after a terrible counter experience) was easy and quick. Got the key, walked to the spot in the garage, got in the car and drove away. No one checked our receipt or anything. Car ran like a champ...no issues with the rental whatsoever.Cons:First, there was only one "consultant" working at a relatively busy airport PHX. Being 3rd in line, the wait was more than a half an hour before we were able to get our keys. The constant upsell at the pickup counter was both annoying and time consuming. I had already picked the highest level "mini-SUV"...I didn't need a bigger or higher priced SUV. I also had trouble getting away from purchasing their rental insurance. The girl just kept going on about the gloom and doom of rentals and that I should buy at least the minimum level of insurance. She got very short to the point of being rude. I will definitely rent from SIXT again, but will be ready for the time consuming pickup.Reviewed 13 Jul. 2017

Bait and switchPros:The return was fast and easy. However; the agent that I checked in with, was rude and disrespectful. He was upset that we would not take the excellent offer he proposed for upgrading from a full size to a larger car. The way he kept looking at his computer screen it was obvious that he didn't have a full size car to give to us. He finally gave us an ugly van and expected us to be grateful.
