Pros:Due to Covid Washington state closed. Meaning we couldn't fly in. Sixt wouldn't offer a refund without a $100 penalty on a $270 booking. Awful. Rung them 3 times. Emailed. Still nothing.Cons:A refund or a voucher for another dayReviewed 1 Dec. 2020

Pros:Pick up and drop off went very smoothly. Staff recommendation to purchase gasoline with Sixt panned out, hardly any gas stations offered better rate.Cons:I did not get the car I requested, and instead got a rear wheel drive which was not ideal for the wintry road conditions and gave me some concerns about driving through stevens and Snoquamie Passes.Reviewed 2 Jan. 2018

Pros:Monica and Nathan were excellent at Sixt at SeaTac. They really saved the day. I had arranged for a Premium SUV, and even called when making to reservations to be assured that I would receive one of 3 different cars depending on availability (the one I signed up for, or 2 potential alternative “similar” vehicles). Of course when I get to the rental desk, they magically do not have any of the 3. I was extremely aggravated, because Sixt has pulled this trick with me (and others) on several occasions. They get you committed to pay for a higher level of rental car, and then they don’t have it, and give you what they say is a “similar car”. The “similar car” is never similar, and usually could have been rented for less then what you agreed to. That’s why I called in the first place; to find out what the “similar cars” were. Of course they didn’t even have the similar cars that they told me they would have a replacements. I was not pleased. Monica arranged for another SUV, but it really was not on par with the premium SUV that I was promised and I had paid for. Added, this different SUV was too large for our in town accommodations. With the help of Monica and Nathan, I was able to arrange for another premium SUV that was comparable (but not originally offered by Sixt as a replacement).Cons:Sixt needs to stop playing shell games with their customers. If a certain vehicle is rented, they need to have that available. Always having to offer “similar” vehicles is a scam, and the customer always gets the shaft. This has happened 3 times now for me when dealing with Sixt. I will be reluctant to rent from Sixt again.Reviewed 24 Oct. 2019

Cons:Confirmed via email that they would refund my rental if coronavirus related travel bans were announced. When Seattle's shelter-in-place extended past the rental and friends couldn't travel from Europe, the offer of a refund was reversed. 3 weeks of emailing with 5-10 day gaps from Sixt and I ended up with a voucher. Not much has gone well in my first Sixt rental. All things held equal, they're the last company I'd work with.Reviewed 8 Apr. 2020

Will never rent from Sixt again!Pros:NothingCons:The attendant told me I had to have a return flight ticket in order to rent. After I had prepaid 3 months in advance, they then said that without a flight ticket stub I couldn't take the car. I walked 1 mile at 6am to pickup the car from our tour bus, the attendant was probably 16 years old. She had no options to help me and looked at me with a blank face. By far the worst rental company I have ever used. After 2.5 hours my friend finally got them to switch the payment to his credit card and we were able to leave with the car. Also not the car that I had booked. A much larger car that used considerable more gas than what I had booked. Rates were through the roof that day so thank god I convinced someone to go on the trip with me or I would have had to cancel a climbing trip up Mt Rainer that I had planned for 6 months. Not renting from Sixt in the futurePros:Clean, new car, efficient check in/ out.Cons:Almost impossible to get to a representative if you have questions or changes to the reservation need to be made. I spent a total of 2 hours on the phone to get through. Additional taxes and hidden fees were added on at the end after I had agreed on the price that was listed to have included all taxes and fees. The final charge for a three day rental was $84.21US higher than the original paid and quoted all inclusive price. That's ridiculous. Will not go backPros:Car was brand new so nothing wrong there. Return went fast and smooth.Cons:Nothing in any communications stated I must present my card that I paid for the vehicle with when I pick it up. I had the receipt that stated all was paid for in full yet they said I must have the card I paid with when I picked up the car. I paid for the car with a travel point card that I never carry with me. I had already applied travel points to pay for the car so basically is was free to me. Counter attendant very apathetic when I explained this to her. She said without the card she had to refund the originally payment and charge it to another card. Now the car was no longer free to me. I had 2 small kids with me and although I was the only one in line it took almost 30 min to get checked in. Awful.Reviewed 6 Jul. 2017

Only during & drop off was great!Pros:The car selected, great choice we randomly got! Happy to use a new car and hybrid too. The guy that helped us with the drop-off was super cool and chill, we liked him!Cons:Just the customer service of the female when we picked it up. Maybe it was cause we picked it up at like 6AM early and she was tired. But sensed impatience and annoyance from her. I admit, I was mentally tired and slow due to a over three hour red eye flight with my routine of sleeping by 8PM & waking at 4AM hence, I operate better with caffeine/coffee in my system but she just wasn't pleasant and my encounter with her- made me felt dumb. My fiancé could notice that too but tried to conversate with her to lessen the tension. Just didn't like that and we were so lost on finding the sixt pickup location. got dropped off by shuttle and had to ask the other car rentals the location of sixt cause it wasn't in the building but another level in the building.Reviewed 16 Sep. 2017
