GREAT price!Pros:We liked the fact that the price was SO much cheaper than other rental companies!Cons:It was a little confusing at the airport because we weren't really clear on where we needed to wait for the shuttle to pick us up, but we called AVR, they told us right where to be, and we only had to wait about 20 minutes.Reviewed 20 Sep. 2016

Terrible Customer ServicePros:NothingCons:I arrived at the airport to pick up my rental car, and was unable to rent the vehicle due to not possessing a credit card. I have never had trouble renting in the past with my debit card, and I do not posses a credit card because I try not to spend money I do not have. I had read on the email confirmation that I would need a credit card in order to rent, so I borrowed a card from my brother in order to use the rental. When I arrived they told me the card had to be in my name, which is also ridiculous, because I have used rentals in the past that were paid for through my employers card, which had her name. Then in speaking with the woman about what we could do about working out the rental, she told me I could call the other rental car agencies, take a shuttle back to the airport, and get on the another shuttle to take me to one of those rental companies. The next option she offered was to go to another Enterprise location in the city, who she said would take a debit card. I don't know why company policy would not be the same across the board, but apparently Enterprise can't manage that. Finally when I was fed up with the terrible service and options that were offered to me, I asked the woman, who said she was the manager, that I would just like her to refund the money that was charged for collision coverage that I had paid when I booked the vehicle online. She told me that I would have to call Enterprise to have that refunded. Because of course a manager could not refund a simple $18 charge, I have to waste more of my time calling the company to get it refunded. I travel a lot, and have used renal car on many occasions. I could not believe the ridiculous policies and discrepancies within the same company, which I've used in the past, and will likely never use again.Reviewed 20 Nov. 2016

Pros:My only quibble is that the driver, on the return, did not get out of the van to help me with my bags. I hinted that he should always motion to do so, but he should hear it from his boss as well. Otherwise, my two experiences have been terrific i.e., efficient staff and check-in and check-out, clean, not too far away, great value, new cars, and they always answer their phones.Reviewed 20 Aug. 2016

Horrible experiencePros:NothingCons:My reservation was cancelled after I moved it from 12pm to 3 pm and the agent was completely rude and the manager’s only response was to let him know who I spoke to in order to change my reservation! Like that was going to help me in some way! Will never, ever do business with them again!!Reviewed 11 Aug. 2018

Horrible Experience in Chicago-Billed for new tireCons:Within 20 minutes (or less) of picking up our van the back tire went flat. Clearly it was going flat when we got the van. We called AVR and they said they would be sending roadside assistance right away. We waited 2 hours, and a man with two kids and a dog in his vehicle showed up (not that this necessarily bothered us, just kind of strange). He put the small, temporary spare on and said nothing more. We were on a busy conference schedule, so the next day we called AVR to ask how we were to drive around Chicago for 3 days on a spare only good for 35 miles. We were then told that we were responsible to find a certified Dodge dealer, have the tire replaced, and pay for it! We did not do this, as our 3 day trip to Chicago was to attend classes, not maintain their vehicle. When we returned the van with no time to spare before catching our flight, we were told that we needed to come inside to fill out claim paperwork for our insurance/our responsibility to pay for the new tire. When we said we didn't have time to do this, the manager snapped back that he would just report that we REFUSED to complete the paperwork. We didn't refuse to do anything, and were concerned what this would result in if we were to just leave for our flight. After expressing this concern to another employee, we were finally given the paperwork to take with us and send back, but are still being held responsible for the cost of a tire that went flat within minutes of picking the van up. Never again.Reviewed 9 Jun. 2016

AvoidPros:The car was brand new cause they have only just begun to rent smaller cars.Cons:long story short, maybe if you NEED to rent a large passenger van this would be a good option, but to rent a car this is the most annoying company to use. They cost way too much (needed a car for 25 hours, had to pay for a full 48), are too far from the airport and you have to call for a shuttle as there is no regular pickup, only one person working the counter to both check out and return cars, tons of paperwork (actually done on paper).Reviewed 15 Nov. 2017
