Pros:The car was clean.Cons:Everything else. The staff at pickup was excellent but she was overwhelmed and we needed to wait 2 hours just to get to the checkin desk. Every other car rental company had more than one employee working, even the ones with one checkin desk. Dollar and Thrifty had one employee despite having five seperate checkin desks. No employees could be found at drop-off. I finally found some one who said hertz/dollar/thrifty only had one person working (despite lines of cars for returns) and the best thing is to just leave the keys in the car and you will get an email later about checkout. Horrible customer service from a management perspective not an employee level. Staff your locations and service will be better.Reviewed 8 Jul. 2021

Pros:The staff was awesome and drop off was very easy.Cons:The car wasn't super clean, but given the circumstance of our flight being cancelled we were just grateful we could get a car. Unfortunately, the price was high, which is typical right now due to the shortage of car rentals. But Dollar was the only company that had cars available thankfully!Reviewed 28 Jun. 2021

Pros:Pick up took almost 2 hours waiting in the long line! Final bill estimate was about $400; however, final bill was over $600!Reviewed 26 Jun. 2021

Pros:Drop off was easy. Pick up at Ohare was a bit nasty most of the time there was only agent to help 40 customers. Waited in line for 1&1/2 hours to pick up my rental.Reviewed 18 Jun. 2021

Cons:They did not have the compact classic car I had requested and charge me for a larger SUV I did not need. This was because I booked through car rental.com and apparently the computer listed me as arriving at 12 noon when in fact I arrived at 10 AM. Looking at the parking area it was clear they did have the smaller car available I consider this a case of bait and switch.Reviewed 16 Jun. 2021

Pros:Easy drop-off.Cons:Like some other rental companies, Dollar is suffering from a car shortage and my car wasn't available when I arrived. To avoid a wait, I took an upgrade. The upgrade price was misquoted and I didn't see the final higher price until I got my receipt. I also declined insurance but was charged for it. Again, being in a hurry I didn't see it until I got my receipt.Reviewed 15 Jun. 2021

Pros:Not much. The rep seemed harsh and not interested that our suv contracted was not available. The car we had to take, because of a time commitment, was not offered at a discount or complementary upgrade.Cons:We did not get an emailed receipt! My credit card has been charged over $500 for a one day rental!! And we had to pay extra for car we didn’t really want but had to take because of a time commitment with our family. The rep had no real solution except to say: there’s a shortage of cars everywhere….. much better experience using Priceline this week for another rental in Detroit.Reviewed 14 Jun. 2021

Cons:Change oil light came on 100 miles into a 16 day rental, low tire pressure light came on soon after that, tires had to keep being refilled throughout our vacation. We called roadside service, the first time they hung up on me, the second time they put me on hold for so long I was able to get the oil changed at Jiffy Lube while on hold. Tires were also bald and needed to be realigned, so it was a noisy ride. It’s like Dollar didn’t do any preventative maintenance before renting it out. Will not rent from them again.Reviewed 13 Jun. 2021

Cons:The counter agent was very rude. We waited for 45 minutes in the line. When we finally got to him, he told us we would have to wait 45 to 90 minutes until our car would be ready unless we upgrade by paying additional $18/day. After he rang the charges , it showed $19/ day. It gets worse. After driving for two hours, the car had engine light. We called the emergency roadside service, I was put on hold for 30 minutes. Next day, the car condition got worse, we drove back to the airport to change the car because the car had trouble starting. When we returned to the airport, the counter agent was at the return center. He was rude. He did not apologize.Reviewed 29 May 2021
