I would like to know that a Credit card is needed to purchase the rental BEFORE I GET TO THE AIRPORT

TELL ME A CREDIT CARD IS NEEDED SO I WONT BE STUCK AT THE AIRPORT WONDERING HOW I AM GOING TO GET AROUND , START ACCEPTING DEBIT CARDS !

Suv we reserved should have been available as I called 30 before pick up time and was told all was well. Suv was filthy, candy wrapper in drivers door pocket, crumbs in the front cup holder and worst of all- a used disposable dental floss pick and tissue in the passenger door pocket. This, while hertz proudly put not one but two COVID CLEAN stickers on the SUV. Unfortunately the dental pick up as not discovered until our trip was underway. Will never rent from them again. Also high mileage vehicle- over 33,000 miles

There was one female agent on November the 28th that was helpful. She was told by another agent by the name Mimi to place me in an old filthy, dirty 12 passenger van they had parked in what looked like the dump. I refused to be place in that filthy van and I returned to the counter someone was returning the new, clean 12 passenger van I requested previously. It was clear that the agent Mimi wanted to make sure i was given the worst there was because she called me several times to get me to cancel my one month in advance reservations for another customer and I explained i had made these family plans and could in no way cancel them two days before my family was due to arrive. I am President Circle but I never mentioned that once, this was about being with Hertz for over 14 years. They have earned my business and I theres because of their reputation before my encounter with the Hertz agent named Mimi at the South Loop Hertz location. I was nearly in tears when I saw this unfold before my very eyes. She had control to make me and my family miserable in an 1989 Chevrolet 12 passenger van. It was filthy inside and out, I could not believe my eyes. I saw the new vehicles that were being rented and returned and I was hit in the chest with this abuse of position as an agent to a 14 year customer of Hertz.

Cons:

I should've been placed in the new 12 passenger vans for both rental transactions, November 23 and November 28th. This was deplorable treatment and I was deeply hurt by it.

Staff friendly at pickup site.

Cons:

Car reeked of smoke, no other options available. Drop off location was closed on my designated drop off date. Customer service 1-800 team had me on hold for 30 minutes, hung up on me, and in the end provided no solutions. Customer service agent at Hobby airport location was very helpful. Nightmare experience, will never rent from Hertz again.

Pros:

Staff extra friendly in both places. The actual vehicle was clean and loaded with features.

Cons:

So expensive to do a one-way! But I guess that’s to be expected.
