The van had a dirty windshield and we had to ask for it to be cleaned when we picked it up. More importantly we were told to bring it back with a full tank but we were given a van with a half tank and had to ask them to fill the tank. Their preparation of the van needs improvement.

This is honestly the easiest best rental car experience I’ve ever had. It was quick to check in/pick up and even easier to drop off. What I really liked was the fact that I got to literally just go pick a car on my own, not be told which car I’m getting. It felt cool to walk down an Isle of cars and be able to get into whichever one I like!

The BMW was extremely comfortable, but we had a heck of a problem trying to figure out which button to push for various things. The people at the checkout counter, the key distribution and the return were simply a lot of fun. All of them were smiling and laughing when appropriate. That is a good operation! We were very impressed.

I was quoted a price upon reservation. When I arrived to pick up the car I was told the car did not have GPS which I assumed it would have and absolutely needed. The car with GPS cost me more than TWICE as much as the initial quoted price and it was not a category update. I have consistently rented with Sixt for years in Paris, France. You can look it up. GPS was never an issue. To say the least I am extremely disappointed at what I consider as misrepresentation, and will steer away from Sixt in the future.

The location was understaffed and had some unruly and distasteful renters, but the manager was handling everything with aplomb. When we returned the car, he remembered us, apologized profusely for the prior delays, and gave us a discount. Class act! Thanks, Moises.

Houston was Awesome! The drop off point in Galveston had the incorrect hours listed on the building. The door said they would be closed but they were actually open with 20 or 30 people there!!!

The drop off location on the contract was not the right place, and when I called customer service to fix the problem, they said that the Houston branch imputed my wrong birthday, so they couldn’t modify my reservation for the correct drop off location. I ended up taking it to Galveston (my original drop off) and they kindly took the rental in, and even offered me a ride to the cruise terminal. I am impressed, and great full for the Galveston branch.

I completed my pre check in as it said “avoid the line” and just pick up your car. I already pre paid for the car and when I got there, I showed them my Apple Card via my cell phone as I do not have a “physical” card. They would not accept me not having a physical card even tho it was pre paid and my card was charged—— and I pre checked in! So I had to make a new reservation while I was at the counter, made me run late to my meeting and I had to pay 2 times for a car rental! I will never use them again.

I made a reservation to rent a car 2 days prior to arrival. I fly from Orlando to Houston, and take a 50 minute Uber ride to the Hertz location of my reservation. I am informed that they have no vehicles for me after already having paid for 72% of the rental. No other help was given while struggle to find another location with a vehicle. An employee had called me while I was on the plane and left a voicemail, so I was unaware of that there were no vehicles ahead of time. I was there an hour before I saw another vehicle show up and being cleaned. While no one spoke to me to offer any assistance, I asked someone if I could just use the vehicle that was being cleaned. They said they were in a good mood, so he would rent me the vehicle if I agreed to pay the upcharge (because I had reserved a compact car and this was a SUV). At that point, I should have had it for free. I was nearly stranded in south Houston, and overcharged because the original money I paid has not been refunded. The SUV also smelled like marijuana. The entire experience was a certifiable train wreck.

Quick process. Showed up they had my reservation they were ready to go took me less than 5 minutes to get my vehicle. Upon returning, staff saw I had oversized item and instead of making me transfer to a shuttle they drove me to the airport in my vehicle. Very much appreciated!

No improvements needed. Everything went as planned!

Cons:

The check-out process took almost 2 hours. There was a line a mile long and only 3 people working the counter while 3-4 others twiddled their thumbs in preferred area.

Cons:

Only one person left to check in over 12 customers. Waited almost an hour to get checked in. Car was not clean but was the only one available. I was told the car wash was broken. Disappointed because I was attending a funeral with family.

Pros:

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with any of this process at the Hobby Payless/AVIS location. I hate leaving bad reviews however each part of the process was full of problems and deceiving tactics.

Cons:

They had no vehicles ready to pick up that were in the size that I had a confirmation number for. They use this excuse to force you into having to pay to upgrade to another vehicle. I was asked to either wait (an unknown amount of time) or pay 20.00 a day more for a truck. Then after you agree to the new price they tell you they will email you all the paperwork. So you leave with no proof of cost and absolutely no paperwork. I logged in to my credit card account later that day and noticed I was charged 540.00. My original rental was confirmed as a full size car at 310.00 and that included the taxes and fees. So if you add the 20.00 each day you will get 60.00+ a few dollars for additional taxes. So let's add 20.00 for those. So it should have been
