Pros:Staff was friendly.Cons:A bait and switch was pulled on me, and I was very upset. I put in my search that I was looking for a car to pick up at SEATAC. Without me realizing it, the site switched to the downtown Seattle location for pickup (which I didn't realize since I don't know the address on either location). I went to SEATAC to get the car and was told I had to go downtown to get it. I had to call my son to pick me up and take me to downtown Seattle to get the car. I had requested a compact car, and by the time I got to Seattle, they told me the only car available was a Toyota 4Runner. This was a big problem since I have a leg problem that caused me great pain getting into the 4Runner. The customer service guy told me I could change it out when a sedan came in, but two days later I was told that all they have is SUV's because of the winter weather. I was finally able to drive back down to Seattle on Tuesday and trade for a RAV4 since it had a much lower profile and was easier to get in and out of with my sore leg. The customer service guy was extremely nice and set it up so that I could turn the car in at SEATAC when the rental was over. So overall, I had to get my son to take me to the Seattle location, and then I had to drive back down to get a smaller car since I was stuck with a huge 4Runner when I had requested a compact car. This was definitely not my best car rental experience!Reviewed 8 Mar. 2021

Pros:Staff at pickup were friendly, and the person at their 24/7 help line was empathetic when we had a problemCons:Extra fees & car model restrictions for younger drivers not clear online. No way to see how much insurance would cost before you book. When our car's tire was damaged, we had to stand on the side of the highway for 30 min on hold for roadside assistance, only for them to tell us the best they could do was send a local shop (60 minutes away!) to put on the spare. So the roadside assistance isn't really any help. Because they have so few locations, if you have any car issue outside of Chicago/Indianapolis, you're stuck with taking the time to repair the car, paying for repairs upfront and being charged for any extra time you have to rent the car in order to get those repairs. You can't just exchange the car like you could at a larger chain. Untranslated German on their English website.Reviewed 20 Apr. 2021

Pros:I liked the Chevy Tahoe we drove, but that is because Chevy makes good cars- not because of Sixt.Cons:Sixt could have told us before we arrived that luxury cars are only available to customers with a credit card. Sixt could have been more clear in communicating their terms and conditions so that when I sign to agree with them, I actually have an honest understanding of what I am signing. Sixt could have been more clear about what my card would be charged at the time of rental. Sixt could be honest instead of wicked and conniving. Sixt could stop being a company altogether. The world would be a better, safer place for paying customers without Sixt Rental car in the market lying, cheating, and generally screwing people over with silky words and false smiles.Reviewed 20 Apr. 2021

Pros:The staff at the drop off was extremely helpful and friendly. The easiest drop off that I've ever had.Cons:A Toyota Camy is not what I wanted, but it was substituted for a Chrysler 300 that I had specified. The 300 is a full sized vehicle, and I specifically wanted a full sized vehicle for the room. I have owned a Camry, and it is not a full sized vehicle even though that's what it is considered by the rental car agency. We had five people - one with a car seat - and they were not comfortable. It would have been another $100 to upgrade to "premium", and we were going to drive the car very little. A bit disappointed...Reviewed 2 Feb. 2021

Pros:Good car/good vakueCons:To use the transponder for tolls you were forced to pay $45. Whether you went through one toll or 100 tolls you were on the hook for the $45. There are only a few toll roads in Tampa but I certainly don’t know what they are and being forced to spend $45 for the transponder is a money grab. I’ve rented hundreds of cars and the transponder may come with a three or four dollar fee but then you’re only responsible for the tolls that you go through. At Sixt in Tampa you either had to spend the $45, whether you went on one toll road or not, or risk stopping at a toll that has a cash option. In Tampa there are tolls that don’t have a cash option and you then get billed through your license plate but that comes with a five dollar fine each time. I will never rent again from sext in TampaReviewed 6 Feb. 2021

Pros:The staff was friendly and very helpful. On our 3rd day, we walked out to a flat tire. A representative was in the process of dispatching someone to come and change the tire. However, my husband was able to do it. The representative also made arrangements for us to exchange the car the next day (our decision to wait a day and not mess up our plans). We were given another nice car of equal or better value. The process was seamless. We were happy with the vehicle and the service. Will definitely use them again.Reviewed 15 Feb. 2021

Pros:The line was short.Cons:Everything. My wife and I had a rough travel. Had a booking, I dropped my license at the airport gate, the staff would not accept a scan of my license (front and back), or my passport as proper ID. So we had to use my wife's ID and card instead. No big deal, right? WRONG. They canceled our reservation for a luxury vehicle, which we'd reserved for my birthday as a special treat. This was because "we need a credit card for this because we take out a large security deposit", despite my using a debit card to reserve the luxury vehicle for the initial booking. They eventually made us take a standard SUV (not even a sedan, apparently they "didn't have any"). Our new reservation, the standard SUV, was SOMEHOW $250 more expensive than the luxury vehicle rental was booked for. We were presented with two options for the SUV rental, a highlander and a durango. We asked for the highlander, but they PUSHED their new Durangos on us, not taking "no" for an answer. The Durango was awful. The seats were like rock, the A pillars are terrible for visibility, the rear-view mirror literally takes up the entire center of the windshield. The car was enormous and difficult to keep in lane, not to mention parking it. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, would NOT recommend. Just go to Enterprise, Budget, or Alamo. Don't waste your time on Sixt; it should be your 'sixth' choice.Reviewed 9 Feb. 2021

Pros:The shuttle never even showed up to pick me up for my rental at Philadelphia Airport. After waiting for twenty minutes in the freezing cold, we tried to call (you cannot get ahold of the local office). The main office tried to connect me, but they apparently closed early for the night. So we had to go to Hertz and get s car for the night to get to the hotel. The next day I called to confirm my reservation so I could go pickup the car after work that day, and the central office said, yes that was fine. Then he double checked the system and realized that they had no cars available, including the car that I had already paid for, which should have been sitting there waiting for me! The only positive thing that happened was that the rep at the main office immediately gave me a full refund with no argument. Unreal.Reviewed 9 Feb. 2021

Pros:NothingCons:This company is a scam. Save your money and book with a reputable company with non scamming policies. Never pre pay for a rental with this company. They will take your money and charge additional fees even if you can’t make the pickup due to having covid. They are willing to knowingly expose their employees and customers to covid all for the sake of money. And on top of keeping your money they will charge you an additional fee. If you care about your health or the safety and security of your money... book elsewhere. Poor customer service as well. You can’t even get through to a live person. The phone just hangs up on you and they send you responses through email and it’s always something different than what a service person on-location will tell you.Reviewed 16 Feb. 2021
