Pros:Car was okCons:Did not realize the drop off location was wrong. The ccustomer service agent didn't say anything. When I returned the car I was told to go to the office. There was no one there.so I went to the general office where Mercedes the manager said I shouldve gone to the national office. ..even though I didn't rent from them. She was exceptionally rude telling me it wasn't her problem that the reservation was incorrect. She askedwhom I spoke with. I said a blonde lady with a eastern european acaccent. To which Mercedes responded...well she is a blondeReviewed 6 Nov. 2015

Never renting from Alamo againPros:the car was prettyCons:I reserved a car online 4 months ago. Two weeks ago, I checked into Alamo at the airport to get my car. The sales person tried to HARD-SELL me on an upgrade, despite my saying over & over & over I did NOT need a nicer SUV (she wanted me to upgrade to a BMW SUV) . She came at 3 different times and when I firmly said no 3x and she finally gave up, (all with my kids next to me exhausted from a long day of travel, I'll have you) she came at me again and this time for the insurance. I have excellent car insurance for which I pay a pretty penny that I know covers all rental issues AND I have AMEX who has great coverage as a benefit of the card do I knew I did not need the insurance. She then asked me who my car insurance company was, claiming they need to know bc that is how they make claims, but NEVER asked for my policy number. She claimed that SHE KNEW my insurance did NOT cover what I thought that did and that AmEX would not cover anything. I consistently said, "Ok. But I DO NOT want the insurance. I rent cars ALL the time and know what I am doing." When I refused the extra coverage for the 4th time, she said, "FINE," loudly and angrily. When I went to walk away she vibed me, and said with an angry tone, "Your STANDARD SUV will be waiting for you....." Her tone was so nasty that my my son asked why she was treating me that way and said, "Did she really just vibe you for not renting a BMW?" The car we picked up was supposed to be washed but instead looked washed soaped up & left to dry before rinsing. It had dried soap ALL over it. It was the last car of the kind we rented that would work for us, so we had to use it. However, for renting a car for over a week and spending close to $1000, the whole experience sucked. It is the first time I rented from Alamo and will never rent from them again,Reviewed 3 Apr. 2018

Cons:Holiday Cars was the intermediary with Alamo. I had a family medical emergency and wasn’t sure I would be able to pick up the rental on time. Their policy is that I could get a full refund as long as I contact them at least 48 hours in advance. So I used their online form to contact them 48 hours prior to pick up time to inquire about canceling or modifying my reservation but they didn’t respond. I had to follow up three separate times to get a response. But by then, they claimed I didn’t contact them soon enough so I was essentially penalized for their non-responsiveness. Horrible customer service. Will never use them again.Reviewed 18 Mar. 2018

Still don't have receipt. Felt pressured to get exPros:Quick and defficient at dropoff.Cons:At pickup, employee pulled up behind 3 of us who had just gotten in cars and parked there, waiting for a man who was just getting To his car to put his suitcase in and settle and pull out, so he could park in that man's spot. The three if us told him we were trying to get out, but he stayed there ignoring us. Also, I did not lke feeling pressured to take the $25 a day insurance and had to refuse it twice and still got the wrong paperwork, so had to refuse it again. No means no. Never would have happened if I was a man.Reviewed 27 Mar. 2017

Charged for gasCons:Upon pickup the woman assisting me inquired about upgrades, insurance, the typical add-ons. I denied each as I didn't require any of the extras she was asking about. Then, she said "just so you know, the gas is cheaper here at the airport" in a manner that she was letting me know. I thanked her for the information and then upon arriving at my destination, I looked at my bill and realized she had added a tank of gas onto the rental price. I guess her telling me about the tank of gas was actually her sneaking it onto my bill rather than just being helpful.Reviewed 26 Feb. 2017

Additional charges we didn't expectCons:We paid for the rental in advance. When we got to Alamo in Tampa we were greeted by an Alamo staff (Indian guy) who pressured us to purchase extra feathers (large car, insurances.....etc). We told him we were not interested. Then he goes into this scared tactic to try and scare us to buying the insurance. Again we told him we don't want it and that we're already covered by our normal car insurance. So he said ok fine you only want the car and start pulling out the papers for us to sign. Without going through the details we initial and signature the papers for the rental. It was only when we return the car that we notice an addition 260.19 charge for insurance which we repeatedly said we don't want. I understand we should have read the papers careful before signing, but can't help but feeling con by the Alamo staff. Needless to say we were disappointed with our rental experience with Alamo and have no plans renting from Alamo again.Reviewed 27 Aug. 2017

Cons:Dropping off the vehicle was not clear or easy. Your Alamo sign could not be found and we ended up in the bottom of the building. An employee thankfully helped us. There was no way to turn around and get on the correct input return car process. When one is trying to catch a flight, one does not have time to go through a "tour" of the parking/rental area. The fault is at the management level for a lack of clarity, in the return process. As the saying goes this was not our first Rodeo. we have returned cars in foreign countries and the organization was much better. Thank youReviewed 3 Mar. 2017

Good car. Better Signage Needed.Pros:Location of Alamo was wonderful. My car was very clean and very comfortable to drive. I had no idea of directions to Orlando's airport. A young lady in the check out booth was "very" helpful with directing to which highways and signage to look for. It's nice when your employees have a decent idea of their surround area, city etc. It is very much appreciated.Cons:I was new to TPA airport car rental location. I was not given much direction to where the Alamos cars where parked. When I did see where the cars were parked and asked a female employee which was my rental, she just pointed to a long row of cars and told me a had a black Altima then continued with her conversation with another employee. I do not know much about car brands or what an Altima looksed like. There were 5 black cars in a row with the trunks open. I had to half close each of the trunks to see the car brand on each of the trunk lids before I found my "black car".Reviewed 16 Jun. 2017

Easy and worth the moneyPros:My mother and Intraveled to Clearwater to finalize details for my upcoming wedding. So my stress levels were at an all time high. So the rental car experience was the least of my worries. Our flight was on time, flying from Philadelphia to Tampa, we found Alamo on the airport grounds. Staff at Alamo were very friendly and welcoming. We had our pick of midsize SUVs which were bigger than I had expected, so pleasant surprise there. We chose to take the option of not filling up and they would charge my credit card the gas used. When the trip was over, returning the car was so simple and stress free. It was worth it!Cons:Nothing to complain about.Reviewed 22 Oct. 2016
