Cons:Cleaning fee was a ripoff- there was one dog hair didn’t even have a dog in the car. Arguing against them is futile, and Met with condescension and rudeness... the flat rate fee for ezpass was also a ripoff. Drop off had an illegal club laser running indoors which was shining on glass- also very illegal because it is unsafe. Employees not wearing masks and standing too close to me when I was trying to exit the vehicle.Reviewed 19 Jan. 2021

Pros:Service staff at pickup very friendly. Good value. Car was clean.Cons:Had a low tire that should have been caught and I had to deal with. Have to take two shuttles to get to any terminal other than A, but not a big deal maybe 10 minutes.Reviewed 29 Jan. 2021

Pros:Dropoff easyCons:Was virtually impossible to contact the online broker to extend the rental as well as thrifty to extend the rental. When I had a problem, both companies told me to contact the other, with impossible online interfaces or confusing phone numbers with huge hold times. In the end, was very difficult to figure out how much I had paid. I had to search the prepayment amounts and the final receipt and then add them together myself, rather than have the on one final receipt. Also, the tolls program is ridiculous. I won't even go into that, but I am still trying to deal with it. Thrifty tells me to contact an outside company that deals with it and the outside company has a 5-7 day wait time for a response to a question. This is ridiculous.Reviewed 4 Jun. 2020

Rude service agent/damaged carPros:I liked the cell phone holder in the car.Cons:Unprofessional customer service agent, car was previously damaged. Numerous scratches, dents, front and rear bumper damage, front tires appeared low. I was genuinely concerned for my safety and had a 1hr plus drive to my destination. When I brought it to the attention of the service agent and requested another vehicle she claimed there was no other vehicle available. She also said "well you have full coverage right...so that should cover it". She kept trying to sell me additional insurance...almost to the point of demanding. Maybe her bonus depended on her selling insurance. Lol. There were other customers waiting to pick up a vehicle and only one customer service agent on duty. Very frustrating for customers.Reviewed 22 Sep. 2016

Pros:Drop off was very easy and was completed quickly.Cons:Line getting the car wasn’t too long but moved slowly. The front staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there, but were knowledgeable and helpful with questions.Reviewed 1 Aug. 2020

Worst Customer Service Ever!!!Pros:Nothing!!!Cons:The shuttle driver had music extremely loud! The counter person, rude, abrupt, didn't know anything and wasn't willing to listen to the Thrifty website alert regarding LaGuardia airport. Car smelled of smoke and was scratched everywhere. When I asked the man at the booth to note my contract all the deep dings on the car, he started screaming at me that if I didn't want the car to go back to the counter. Lastly, the 1800 custmer service number would not honor the waive of fee for dropping off the car at JFK. Wouldn't ever log onto their own website to read what I was referring to. NEVER AGAIN!Reviewed 9 Jan. 2017

Worst place ever!!!Pros:This is by far the worst place I have ever been too. For starters their shuttle never arrived after 40 minutes. I had to get on another shuttle just to get there. Then i get to the counter and the girl was the rudest person i have ever met. Then wouldnt let me pay with my debit card. To top it off I had to go down the street to rent from a competitor. And to really show how terrible this place was there was another person who rented from them and paid in full and he also had to go down the street to rent from the same place I went to because they didnt have a car for him. If I could I would give this place a 0!!!Cons:Everthing!!!!Reviewed 23 Oct. 2015

Cons:Took 52 minutes standing in line at LaGuardia Thrifty / Dollar counter. Just 2 of the 5 stations manned and over 100 people in line. Nearly a riot at one point. Cigarette lighter did not power up, UBS port did not power up. So I had to stop to download driving drirections because the navigator could not get power and my moibile was nearly drained too. Overall a very poor experience. Oh almost forget, at LaGuardia 4-5 Hertz, Avis, Budget etc. shuttless pass for every Thrifty shuttle. Always at least 15 minutes wait there.Reviewed 1 Apr. 2016

Cons:Due to traffic delays and other events beyond my control, this was first time I could not fill up the car with gas. I had to drop off the car with a little over 1/2 tank. To be charged around estimated $92 fuel charge for this was unexpected and ridiculous when the cost of the fuel would have been around $25. Very very unhappy about that. If I could get a reduction or refund on that overcharge and if there was more advanced advertising in finding your New Yorik LaGuardia location from a taxi, my experience would have been an overall excellent rating.Reviewed 2 Jul. 2016
