Pros: **keep in mind, review is for guests who didn't park at all** Shower is by far the best of the hotels I have stayed at. The room was clean (but small, true to San Fran /Japanese style). Bed was also very comfortable. TV was small (~42 inches) but had a nice stand that could be angled alnost 180 degrees. Cleaning staff was very thorough and even organized our toilet trees for us that we left on the sink (I thought this was cool, others may see it differently). Overall clean and fancy facilities, nice staff. Good location in reference to Union Square.
Cons: We witnessed someone getting beat up by at least 4 individuals in an ally right across the street from the hotel. We still didn't feel unsafe in the hotel or around San Francisco, but maybe we should have? Other hotels wouldn't be immune to this problem either (to my best estimate). $6 waters in the room. No prices in the gift shop (yes I can afford it, but maybe I don't get the chips for $2.5 and just go for the $3.50 water instead or go to Starbucks that is attached to the hotel for $2 waters).

Pros: I stayed at the Nikko Hotel for one night during the Nike Women's Half Marathon. Not only was a beautiful, and luxurious hotel but it was also in the perfect location in Union Square for the Nike Women's Half Marathon and Expotique. The customer service was phenomenal and they even extended check out for NWM participants. This was great because it enabled us to shower before our journey home. Thank you Nikko Hotel for such top notch accommodations! I will definitely stay here again next year!

Pros: Nice historic hotel in a great location. Friendly and informative staff. Room was small but we got one of the rooms on the top floor and the ceiling was about 15 feet high. It made the room seem much larger. There is no A/C in the room but it was comfortable with the ceiling fan and the window open. I liked hearing the sounds of the city in the evening. The city "noise" did quiet down during the night and had no problems sleeping. This hotel was recommended to me by my boss. He stays there every year for a reunion with college friends. I have not problem passing on the recommendation.

Despite typically being a light sleeper, and expecting issues with street noise, I slept better there than I have anywhere in years, not really sure why (could have been the 12+ miles walking each day in wonderful San Francisco). The hotel is in Union Square, with its incredible shopping and conference centers. Chinatown is about .5 miles away (and a very steep hill), and Fisherman's Wharf about 1.5 miles; a fun walk if you're up for it (but Uber is fast an inexpensive, especially the pool option). If you're looking for a plush, modern American experience, this isn't it. If you're looking for an affordable, comfortable, centralized location to explore SF, or attend a business conference, this is a great choice.
Cons: Rooms are small, no air-conditioning (though not really needed) and there was no real work surface for a notebook. Not a place to get work done. Bathroom was dated, but functional. There's no fitness center in the hotel but you get free use of a health club around the corner with lots of good gear and yoga classes, which were great. There's no coffee in the room, but there's a 24 hour a day brew available in the lobby with cookies I found impossible to resist. Wi-fi is free and fast.

Pros: It was a very nice family hotel with an interesting history. Well located right off Union Square. The hotel staff were all very nice. Though we didn't take advantage of them, the bar and restaurant both seemed nice.

We were on the top floor and the hotel staff offered to move us to a lower (cooler) room. The second floor room was just as warm. The rooms really need local control of temperature.

Pros: Loved that we could open our window and climb onto the fire escape for a great view. The room was very clean and comfortable. Anything you could want was available. Walking downstairs to the bar/restaurant inside the hotel was a convenience as well. Being in the heart of the Union Square was amazing. Super easy travel to wherever we wanted to go since the trolly stop was 1 block away.

Pros: I liked that we were able to find a great place on such short notice. The Manager on Duty, I think her name was Susan, was very helpful after one of the reservation agent accidentally mixed up our checkout time- and another Agent Brandon wasn't very kind to us. I ate most of my meals at the hotel, breakfast lunch and dinner- and I had three different bartender/servers during my stay that were all so very pleasant. Some even gave me directions to buy a hoodie at a nearby store because I didn't realize it would be colder there this time of year still. And the chef made me an awesome salad when I wanted to exchange tuna for chicken on the salad that comes with Lemon Dressing- it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this substitution as the combination of greens and dressing go amazing with Tuna! It will cost you 2 dollars more as Tuna is more expensive (rightfully so) but it I ate the entire thing. I couldn't stop myself.

There is no pool or hot tub no view of any sort except going outside, no breakfast available. The rooms are small and it shows that they have been carved out of an old apartment (or office) complex. They have expresso machines in the rooms in place of coffee makers we found them difficult to get them to work.

Pros: Everyone from the valet attendant, bellman, and front desk was beyond helpful and attentive. Even on a stormy rainy SF day, they were warm and ever inviting to me. They got me a room on the 27th floor with an amazing view of union square during the holiday season. I highly recommend. Also, the bathroom had great lightening and everything was very clean. Location simply can't be topped. Parking is a choice of valet between $41 around the corner and $60 front door. Wifi is also now FREE.

Pros: The location is great. Close to transportation, restaurants and a CVS/Walgreens within one block of distance. Check in was easy and the staff was always friendly and helpful.
Cons: I have stayed at this hotel before and all rooms were pretty comfortable. Unfortunately, this last time I was traveling with another person and a baby, and the room was very small. It barely had any space to store clothes and had to keep moving the crib back and forth as there was really no room for it.

Pros: This boutique hotel is small but has a lot of character. It was built over a century ago. A renovation to the interior has been done bringing it up to date. The exterior is being repainted now. Being in the heart of Union Square makes it very handy for shopping or anight out. The staff are what make the hotel special though. Edward at the front desk went over the top to make our anniversary extra nice.

There is no parking at all. You can either park on the street and baby a meter, or you can pay valet 60$ a night plus 40% tax. (I was not made aware of this until the i was sitting in the valet) Just be prepared to pay alot more than what you agreed to before you show up. (Maybe this isnt a big deal for most, but i didnt feel like it was a good way to conduct business, and treat your guests)

Pros: The front desk was very friendly and showed us places to eat in the area. They gave us a comp breakfast and free mimosa's because it was our anniversary. Very happy with the whole experience!

Pros: Great location! Clean and modern room. Mattress was comfortable and the view was great! The elevators were very efficient too.
Cons: The "hot" breakfast bar that was included was just pastries, fruit, heat n' serve cups of oatmeal, yogart, coffee and juice. When they said "hot" I think of eggs, breakfast meats and toast or pancakes. They should not reference their breakfast bar as a "hot" breakfast bar. The staff gave us the wrong directions a few times, just save your breath and time and just google it!

Cons: The club in the hotel across the street is open until 3:00 The noise from the club and street noise makes it impossible to sleep. We got to the hotel at 11:30. Room was not ready but the man at the desk said he would text is when it would be ready. Never happened. We got on our room at 3:30. Charge for wifi

Pros: Clean, modern, good location 4-minute walk from Powell BART station, some good restaurants and shopping.
Cons: Like many big-city hotels, the air inside is extremely dry, especially in the winter. Can't open windows. Makes sleep especially difficult. Very difficult to control temperature in the room, which gets hot at night, but turning the heat down turns on very noisy, I mean LOUD, air conditioning.

Pros: Friendly staff, quick check in, great valet ($55/night + tips) , comfy beds and pillows, 50" LG tv. Microwaves and refrigerators are an additional cost . But is recommended if you are traveling and are bringing left overs back for a couple days .

Pros: The staff was very friendly, there was an elegant ambiance about the whole place. Didn't get a chance to dine at the in-house restaurant, but it was very busy the whole stay so it must have been good (though expensive). This hotel is located in the heart of San Francisco, so getting to other restaurants and shops was easy as pie.
Cons: The cleanliness of the room could be improved, there were several hairs on our bed and a big stain on the sheets. The room size was very small, and had very little natural lighting because our window faced another building. The bathroom was teeny, though immaculately clean. Also, the parking offered by the hotel is $50, so it is cheaper to park in the parking garage if you are just staying one night like we did ($23).

Pros: My partner and I checked in for a semi-local one-night getaway. Seriously, the staff (everyone) is ridiculously kind and warm. I feel like the young lady who checked us in's name is Ann; she was sweet, graceful, tactful, and thorough. The location was prime (for us), the amenities were unexpected, and there was plenty of restaurant options.
Cons: Seriously, the only downside was the firmness of the bed, but you just can't please everyone.

Pros: The bathroom is super clean. The sink is not clogged (where most hotels are).
Cons: The doors inside the room is so old and not appealing. The room was super tight. Our queen-size bed room came with a living room. We never even used the living room. I would have rathered have a bigger bedroom than a small bedroom with a useless living room. The pillows were not comfortable at all.
