The bus eventually came, offloaded half the passengers and then returned 20 minutes later to start to offload the rest. It's the longest time I've ever spend disembarking from a plane and clearing an airport - very poor whoever was responsible (I'm assuming Sydney airport was at fault)."

Cons: "Two key issues: 1. Split up seating 2. Required to pick up and check baggage with limited time due to customs check. 1. They split up all four of our seats (despite booking more than 30 days in advance). Our seven (7) year old daughter was by her self. So was our fifteen (15) year old son. When we addressed it to baggage check (part of major issue number 2), they put two seats together, across an aisle, with both children in them. We obviously just sat one of the adults with the seven year old. This was not just us. SEVERAL families had children seated alone and spread all over the plane. ANA needs to require grouped seating for children under thirteen (13) years old with an adult. 2. Tokyo Haneda is the only airport I can think of where I have to pick up and check baggage again just to clear customs. The flights were 1 hour and 45 minutes apart. With nearly an hour dedicated to getting baggage claimed and getting through customs, we barely had time to fix two of our split seats (see issue 1) and rush via a free bus route that took 6 minutes (luckily we were first stop) to get us to domestic terminal 2. We were then lucky again because we made it through security quickly and our gate happened to be right next to the security check we chose. Another side piece: Haneda Domestic Terminal 2 has four security check areas (A-D). We saw no identifying marks indicating which were closest to which gate. Our bags have already been through a bag check process. Feel free to run them through security scans. Don’t make us wait to collect them just to walk them through the customs desk and check them again."

Pros: "My 96-yr-old father was given an airport wheelchair after we checked his own transport chair. He was wheeled through security and to the departure gate. We were advised they changed us to a bulkhead row w/an unoccupied seat adjacent to his. Twice during the flight one of the flight attendants came to tell him that she would help him off the plane so to wait for her after the rest of the passengers disembarked. The meal was very tasty.Chicken karaage was not crispy but I wouldn't expect it to be. The rest of the items were well seasoned with the right consistency. Dessert was a flan custard with passion fruit sauce (very Hawaii!), even including a few seeds from the fruit as garnish."

Cons: "Right from how rude the flight attendants are to how the ground staff can forget of something as basic as informing passengers that their flight has been delayed by 6 hours. Furthermore, the no one from the ground personnel to the flight crew have any answers to why passengers upon boarding their flight are kept waiting for an hour on the plane before actual take-off. While on flight, flight attendants initially refused to serve us food stating that we should've ordered in advance. This was NOT mentioned during booking & clearly stated that food would be served as complimentary as per any International flight. I've been flying international for the past 10 years & have never come across such an incompetent lot. This was our honeymoon trip to Thailand & we 'Thank' Thai Airways for ruining it. Will never ever make the mistake of flying with them. And will make sure our friends & family do the same."

Later, the crew must had adjusted the temperature and it was basically steaming hot because the it was only hot air blowing out from centralized air system. The chairs have everything you need with two pockets, USB, power outlet, and stereo headphone jacks (it looks like the old school dual mono with two prongs but just plug into the right one for stereo). Pros: "The plane was not clean; carpets were torn; toilet seat hinge was broken; the veneer surfaces around the dinner tray storage compartment were coming loose; temperature was too hot (78 degrees according to my thermometer): I saw three passengers ask for lower temperature but crew could do nothing; food was poor quality; entertainment system kept failing; business class seats were very outdated; attendants were sloppy in trying to place dinner linens and dinner trays at the same time; crew did not offer drink refills until after everyone had fished their meal which passengers ate without any beverages. The was the worst business class experience in my twenty-five years of flying business and first class."

Cons: "More often than not, Philippine Airlines has been our airline of choice because we found their rates to be fair and flights direct and easy. Despite the fact that the PAL terminal was pretty poor, and the food on board was never really decent, we remained loyal to PAL for quite a few years. On our way back to Melbourne from Manila on June 17, Saturday, Colin, Hendrix and I were awaiting boarding at gate 10 for flight PR 209. Having flown with PAL from Melbourne to Manila (as well as with another airline from Manila to Manchester and back), we understood that the usual procedure was to allow passengers with infants to board first. Due to the lack of order (there were no clear queues in sight), Colin decided to ask 3 different PAL personnel if there was, indeed, a priority queue for people travelling with infants. ALL THREE PERSONNEL ASSURED US THAT THEY WERE NOT YET BOARDING AND THAT WE WOULD BE CALLED UPON PRIOR TO THEM LETTING ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANE. 2 minutes later, a PAL personnel appears with signage that reads certain row numbers and begins to call out to ALL PASSENGERS FOR BOARDING. Colin swiftly rushes to the front (me and baby in tow) and demands an explanation as to why we were told one thing but are watching them act upon something completely different. I wish I was joking when I tell you that the personnel just stared blankly at us and then carried on checking boarding passes. No apologies, no explanation offered. As soon as we boarded, Colin turned to the first flight steward he saw and asked for a complaint form and told this could ONLY be done online, to which Colin requested we be given the email/web address upon take off. The seats assigned to us were on the right most side of the aircraft, a window and a middle seat. As Colin was placing our bags in the overhead compartment, the steward called to Colin from across the aisle (past the 3 seats in the middle of the plane) to introduce the purser, Jolly Bello. Please note this was happening while people were also trying to get past and get to their seats -and Mr. bello called out across the aisle, "I heard you have a complaint??" to which Colin, baffled, replied "yes do you want to come over here so we aren’t shouting over these people?". Colin yet again told this purser what the complaint was about and was asked (verbatim) "so would you like to make a complaint against THEM?" Would the correct protocol not be to 1. Apologise for any confusion, miscommunication or poor service, 2. Take some responsibility and acknowledge the complaint and 3. Maybe come approach us AFTER TAKE OFF and not while everyone is trying to board the plane? We are no longer choosing Philippine Airlines."

Cons: "There was confusion and poor organization at the check in counter. The check in started late and there was a 500 ft line up to check in at Philippine Airlines. We waited 2 hours in the plane for 4 people who were late for the flight, then the cargo handlers didn't show up. We left at 5am instead of 3am. The flight attendants didn't seem to know why we weren't leaving. Two short announcements were made in 2 hours that didn't explain properly why we sat there so long. The food was wretched. The flight attendants were pleasant but the captain and the purser's announcements were hard to understand with poor English."

We received no compensation or consideration for our losses. To add insult to injury, my return flight seat placement was not an aisle or window, even though an aisle was initially requested. I sat in the center back third of the plane, making bathroom breaks difficult. Food options ran out leaving us with no meal choices for dinner. My travel mate's $1000 checked Samsonite hardshell was smashed beyond use on the return flight. No USB chargers on plane limiting long term use of our own entertainment. Old aircraft is unnerving. TV overhead broken."

So I went to the aorbitz website and tried to book an extra bag but just redirected me to BA! Disgraceful. So many other problems such as 2 hour flight delay then another 2 hours for the bags to come out."

Pros: "The pilot kept us in the terminal when he found out that we were delayed due to fog in London. I appreciated waiting in a more comfortable, open space rather than on the plane. I was also impressed with how the controllers and schedulers in London handled the delays so that I had not problem making my connection. And as things turned out, the second leg of the trip went so well that we reached our destination on time despite a one-hour delay."

Cons: "Flight was delayed almost 3 hours total. The first 45 minutes we were in the airport and they said they were delayed because of an engineering issue which was fine. They then stated that they resolved it and had us board the plane.... ten minutes later the pilot states that the same engineering issue is still being worked on and it'll be about another ten minutes. Well... TWO HOURS after being trapped on the plane and told repeatedly "it'll be another 10-15 minutes" ,we finally took off. The food was subpar, most of the airline staff was polite save for one gentleman at the gate who made a sarcastic comment to me about them trying to board quickly when I couldn't find my passport (after making us wait 45 minutes... then another 2 hours... yeah board quickly for what?). And the flight attendant Nicola was incredibly rude and appeared to condescend to some passengers in various ways. That 3 hour delay ended up costing me my connecting flight and I was booked on an overcrowded flight leaving 4 hours later and that was also delayed almost another hour (surprise!). My first day of vacation, I basically lost my whole first day as I arrived 8 hours after I was meant to because of delays by B.A."

Cons: "I thought the food lacked imagination, was skimpy and too hot. I burned my mouth several times. I really do not like having to pay for a booked seat. I have special needs at my age and so booking early is how I typically make sure I can access the bathrooms easily without climbing over sleeping passengers. I picked flight for the price, but in the end I should have stuck with Delta, KLM and Air France and got the extra miles as with seat bookings and only one bag allowance, what I ended up paying did not make it worth it. Oh well, live and learn. Seats were tight, anyone bigger than me would have really struggled."

Flight attendants came through once with the beverage cart, but only asked the person at the end of our row if he wanted anything. He asked for juice assumed it would be complimentary but it wasn't. They offered to get him a water. The flight attendants did not offer me or the man next to me anything at all. Everyone knows that air travel is dehydrating - I can't believe BA doesn't give provide complimentary water and juice."

Pros: "Flight left Seville on time, and landed 10 mins early. Friendly crew. Marks and Spencer food available to buy on flight. Reasonable vegetarian options available - thank goodness. Didn't have to pay for extra leg room in exit aisle - probably because no-one had bought them when I checked in at airport. Would definitely recommend."
Cons: "Only downside is crew member in Seville at the airport gate could not be understood. She spoke English with such a thick Spanish accent and intonations that no-one understood what she was saying on the speaker. She also sounded as if she was arguing, as opposed to inviting us on board in a welcoming and orderly fashion. Although at times funny, it ultimately translated into a lot of noise on her part, and a headache on my part."
