Could be worse
Pros: The drop off was pretty good. The rep was quick and nice.

Horrible service! Horrible car rental company
Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Disgusting dirty cars. Nickel and diming me with extra fees. Unsafe cars not maintained well.

Such a dump - didn't even follow through with rental
Pros: Their shuttle service seemed dependable and the drivers were very nice
Cons: This place looked SO sketchy and when we got there there was a long line of people that were grumbling about having been waiting a very long time. I waited maybe 10 minutes in the line, and after observing no movement due to what appeared to be frustrating check ins (and maybe one check out?) I realized that this place was not probably going to have the same standards for transparency in their fees and policies as the other bigger rental companies that I usually work with. Frankly, I didn't wait any longer. I got on the app and just booked a cheaper, better car through Alamo, took the shuttle back and moved on with my day.

Horrible experience with Fox rent a car
Cons: They nickel and dime me with additional hidden fees. Their facility was dingy and unclean. The car was dirty and had steering problems. The car needed some serious repairs. Horrible service.

Wouldn't rent again from there
Cons: I went to drop the car off in Tampa at the airport, because the paperwork said "Tampa Airport". Turns out that the drop-off location was on the other side of the airport...nearly 4 miles away.

Pros: Sketchy place with a lot of hidden fees. Did not end up finalizing paperwork and renting car from them.

Do not use fox
Cons: This car rental agency disguises many fees in an attempt to manipulate the consumer. I highly recommend you rent elsewhere.

Pros: The car itself was clean and got great mileage. The staff member who accompanied me to see the car voluntarily examined it with me before I drove off.
Cons: The airport pick up situation seemed disorganized. One driver said he had no more room when there was clearly three empty seats. (And I was a single passenger with only a carry-on bag.) Another driver left us in the van while he went to park cars on the lot, thus delaying our departure from the rental car agency to the airport. Also, both the second driver and the staff person who went over the rental agreement lied. They said there was no way to pay tolls in cash and that I would be triply fined for every toll I passed through. They said this to get me to purchase the 6.99/day SunPass--which I did. There is definitely a place to pay for tolls individually in cash. No need for a day pass.

Very poor service
Pros: The car was clean and comfortable.
Cons: First off, I spend forever waiting for a shuttle to take me to the rental location. Once I get there I was told I had to give a $400 deposit that would be returned in 2-3 weeks which would be an all time long wait. They didn't have the car I requested and asked me if I wanted to upgrade.... The rep tried to get me to take a car that didn't have functional lights inside. I or course said no, so he took me to an alternative that worked, but somehow expected me to sign off on it before checking for dents and scratches. The return was fine, but I was told that there was a shuttle waiting for me, but instead I stood outside staring at an empty van.

Pros: I got a flat tire. I was able to turn my car in and get a new one quick to finish my trip. Will use them again for sure!

Desk lady attitude
Pros: This location may need additional workers. The lady at the desk was very rude and seemed over worked. Because sue was over worked, she had no patients with assisting people.
Cons: You should change your rule about swiping a card once within a 24 hour period. My card had funds on it how ever it was delined because i was out of state. Because of this you lost a sale and a customer forever. I will be honest to others when they ask how was my service with fox rentals. Horrible.

charged $45 extra that cost them $4 as Toll road.
Pros: Only thing i liked about them was they came to pick me up at the airport.
Cons: There service desk and help on the phone was terrible. I called them to ask them about Toll road charges that i got charged for that cost them $4 dollers and they charged me $45 dollers. I was new to the area and by mistake took toll road without knowing that you caint pay by cash or credit card and they knew about that but didn't mention anything. I am not happy with there charging policy.

Pros: Nothing I did not even rent from them
Cons: There customer service was horrible I waited at the airport for 2 hours and no one picked me up. The phone service doesn't work after mid night. Overall horrible service I will never rent from them again

Not price I was quoted
Cons: Threw in several uneccesary charges making it almost double what I was quoted. Plus want a 150 dollar deposit slip. Also wanted to charge early return fee after I returned the car EARLY! What a joke.

Pros: It wss fast when I pick uo the car
Cons: No customer service line...I was charged an extra day because I was calling and nobody answer they didn't tell me nothing the first day..in another rent car they have lines and if I'll be late for one or two hours they accept or negociate with me. But these are the worst ever.

Great price; Great experience
Pros: Zero issues. We did purchase the $6.99 SunPass (offered at the desk), which eneded up saving is quite a bit of money. It is offsite of the airport, but the shuttle to get from the airport to rental office is free. We saved well over $300 on our minivan rental by using Fox.
Cons: How to get to Fox Rental from the airport wasn't obvious, but we called Fox Rental and it was quickly solved. This isn't a negative, but be aware Fox will place a $150 hold on your credit card, in addition to the rental fee. The hold is a deposit that is refundable when the car is returned on-time and reasonably clean.

The car was dirty and the transmission sounded as
Pros: Not very many people there so the wait time wasn't too bad.
Cons: The guy tried to charge me for collision when I told him I didn't want it. When I asked him to take it off he got an attitude. The car was dirty and dinged up, the side fender was bent and looked like it had been wrecked. The engine sounded really bad. Would never use them again!!!

Tried to con me out of gas
Cons: So many rental companies let you rent the car and "bring it back with the gas that's in it". I guess I shouldn't have assumed this was the case. I was never told about the gas, but to protect myself, I took a photo of the mileage and the gas level when I left -- it was under a half of a tank. Sure enough, they tried to charge me because I brought it back 7/8 full instead of completely full. Keep in mind this is MORE gas than I left with. Reluctantly they marked it as returned "full" so I'm sure the next person got charged for it.

Waiting in vain
Pros: Easy same day rental
Cons: You can't get a human on the phone. I absentmindedly left my parking sticker for work on the windshield and called about 2hrs after I dropped off. Was on hold for 20 min. Nothing. Then called back and left my name and info with lost and found. Nothing. No blame to them for me leaving them in there, just would be nice to hear from someone.

Great service worth the wait
Pros: Even with the busy holiday approaching. The staff remained pleasant and professional. Cons. Need a wait area with chairs. Very tiny building no AC Pros. Cars were clean Staff was friendly

Pros: Car was dirty inside, scratches and dings on outside. Shuttle service was the only positive. Front desk was not helpful and take forever to check a person out. Will opt to pay the extra $5/day and go with a reputable company next time.

Pros: Dealt with one very difficult counter person, but the rest of the staff was a pleasure to deal with.
Cons: I tried to call repeatedly to extend our rental another day and listened to a recorded announcement for a VERY long time without having someone ever pick up (calling back three times with same results). Ended up being charged a late fee in addition to the extra day (returned car three hours late so was willing to accept extra day charge). Could have avoided this late charge if they had phone representatives answering calls in a timely way. Very frustrating.

Quick and easy
Pros: Quick shuttles , quick counter , in my car in about ten min!!
Cons: I didn't like they tried to sell me a bunch of other things at the counter , if I wanted extras !! I would have got them online !!

Pros: The shuttle arrived at the airport fairly quick.
Cons: The check-in process was fairly slow, had to wait over 10 minutes with three employees working when four of us arrived on the shuttle at the same time. The trainee was very nice and friendly. Then his trainer stepped in and asked all the same questions, making us go through the entire process again. She then badgered me about the toll pass for $6.99 per day, saying with my p/u and d/o locations the tolls would be $46. I told her no thank you. She explained it again, then again, I declined, but she would not let it go. If I had bought it I would have been irate as my total tolls came to $3.75 for the entire rental period!!! I will avoid Fox in the future when in Tampa.

Pros: Great price and the shuttle drivers were fabulous.
Cons: Took too long to get the shuttle to the pick up location. The car was dirty inside once we picked it up.

Cons: Gave me an old car that had flat the next day. retured it and was warned I might be charged for it! Showed them the bad tire.

Drop Off and Car Itself
Pros: I liked that we got a full sized hyundai sonata. The checkin manager seemed very friendly even for early in the morning.
Cons: The car had some outside damage. The checkin attendant was rude as soon as we got there. I didn't have my rental agreement out as it was packed up (It was a long trip and I just packed it up somewhere) He gave me tons of grief. I said can't you look up the report? The lady had her own copy when we inspected the car. He sounded extremely put out. Came back 1 minute late. With the report he said would be impossible to get....

Pick up was horrible
Pros: The guy driving the shuttle was nice when I picked up in the Tampa office the person helping me would stop to help someone that spoke Spanish leaving me waiting. Then the car I got was all scratched up and had a smell. I was told it was the last full size they had.

Cons: Big charge for Pass Plate when it seems they just take a picture of your plate and send it to the rental company which they would do anyway. No FOB and key was difficult to get in and out of lock.

Great, unless you need some flexibility
Pros: Good value. Bus drivers were incredibly friendly. Oher employees were ok. Cars were in great shape.
Cons: No flexibility. I usually book rental cars on 23.5 hours basis (e.g. pick up at 5pm, return at 4:30 pm). This is the first time I've heard about an early return fee policy. What??? If I said on my reservation that I will return the car at 4:30 pm, but end up returning the car at 12:00 pm (earlier), the company will charge me a fee. We had to extend our trip two days. I was expecting the company to charge me the daily fee we agreed on our reservation, but they added an additional fee for making the change. They told me it was in the contract...Fare enough. Here is the worse one...they will never pick up their phone (when I was trying to extend the reservation). I was on hold on three occasions for more than 25 minutes. They only way I was able to make contact was through email. Very unsatisfactory.

bad experience in every way
Pros: Waited 35 mins for pick up van in 95 degree heat. Couldn't wait any longer took a cab to the office. Cost me $20.00 ( 17.00 plus tip ). When I got there there was a short line of 3 people which took 30 mins to get through, mainly because the agent was more involed with what was on the tv behind him and kept turning hes back to me to watch. when he was done with my paper work he said go out these doors and someone would be right with me. 10 mins later someone shows up and goes to find me a car. After 5 mins he returns with a dirty car and as i'm driving away sounds like a rear bearing is grinding. After what I had just gone through I took out my phone and made a video of the sound because I was not going back. Then for toppers the A/C was very poor it needed a charge. over all the worst experience ever.

Pros: Nice price. Nice customer service. I would rent again.
Cons: Only one customer service agent was working the counter at the time of pick-up. We had to wait 20 - 30 minutes to be assisted.

Pros: Good customer service when I dropped off the car
Cons: This may be a Florida thing, but in Tampa Bay there were many different toll roads that did not allow you to pay on the spot. Instead, I just went online and noticed I have to pay a $15 "transaction" fee for every time I used a toll road. My $6 in tolls is now an $80 bill. Again, this may not be the fault of Fox, but it sure seems like there should be another option than paying a $15 transaction fee on every toll occurrence. I definitely wish this would have been at least disclosed to me when I rented the vehicle.

Worst Fox location ever!
Cons: This review is specific to the TPA location, as I have rented from Fox multiple times at other airports. Rented a full size car for my wife. When they presented their reservation - they were given a car much smaller than advertized (small hatchback that barely fits 3 people and 1 suitcase). When she complained, she was charged over $100 to "upgrade" to full size, which was already paid for!. This location took advantage of a tired woman with an infant. Absolutely not ok in my book.

Pros: Picking up the car was fairly quick. Dropping off the car was even faster, we were out of there in 5 min and on our way to the airport. Car was very clean and exactly what we were looking for for our week in Florida. The driver of the shuttle back to the airport was super friendly and nice. Will definitely rent a car from them again.

Pros: It was a good value and the service reps were friendly.
Cons: Pick up service wasn't great. Waited a long time. Tried to convince me I was given a free upgrade when I received a lesser car than what I reserved. I reserved a Chevy Equinox or similar SUV and I was told they don't even have the Equinox so it was deceitful advertising.

Pros: Car was clean and newer. Had some decent extra features like a back-up camera.
Cons: Had to wait about 15 minutes for a shuttle at the airport and then had to wait 40 minutes in line before we could speak to a representative. When we returned the car, the computer system was down and they couldn't give us a receipt. They emailed us one later that day.

Pros: Pick up at TPA and return drop off was a breeze. It is a six mile trek to the Fox offsite location. Moving to TPA in 2017 I was told. We received a brand new car, which worked out great with great gas economy
Cons: Attempted upsell to a larger vehicle during pick up.

Not a bad experience!
Pros: It was pretty painless process. Cheap too! I opted for no insurance and they kind of hounded me about it. They never brought up the sunpass policy which I'd okay because I didn't use it. The rentals aren't brand new cars. There a some older vehicles with dents and bruises. Make sure you have them inspect the entire car before you take it. Customer service in person was just okay. But when I tried to call them, no one answered and I was on hold indefinitely. I just hung up. But, overall, if you want a car for just a few days and don't need to travel far, this is a good company to use.

Clean the cars between renters please
Pros: I was in and out of there on decent time. They are open 24 hours
Cons: The vehicle seemed to have food stains on the inside roof from a previous renter. Some of the features seemed to be falling apart like the gas tank cover. It appears as though there is little care taken of the cars between renters and they are definitely not cleaned, the windshield was absolutely filthy.

Dirtiest and stinkiest rental EVER
Pros: New car but it was trashed. They tried to upgrade me to this car but it clearly wasn't ready.
Cons: Smelled like weed and completely filthy. I could barely see thru the windshield because it looked like they started to spray the car to be cleaned and just decided not to. Bad enough i was already waiting 40 minutes at 11pm to figure out what car they were going to give me. Took 30 minutes for the shuttle to come. Shuttle guy was very nice despite the long wait. Not worth saving the money!
