I couldn’t get my car and I bought insurance and I was charged kayak tells they can’t do anything I need to call the insurance company because they are a third party then the insurance company tells me that I need to call kayak because that’s where I bought from it’s ridiculous I need to go through this

I had a change of plans and returned the vehicle to the pickup site. The onsite staff were unable to remove the one way fee. The corporate office bounced me around, sens the info to the wrong local office and the issue is still not resolved.

Supplier choice

Intially I saw the reviews of Avis on google and was really worried that I chose the wrong rentals, but to my surprise I actually had a good experience. I pre checked in and was able to pick my car in 10 mins, which was very convenient.

I received a hybrid that had less than 10 perfect battery life. I did not enjoy the car for the entire first day of rental because I was afraid to drive it due to the battery life being so low. I had to find someone willing yo place an app on their phone and then drive out of the way to locate a plug in that I had to pay money to charge the vehicle up before I could comfortably or safely drive anywhere. The battery was not self charging as I drove it and there were no instructions on charging time,location ,etc

Staffs were friendly; however, the lines at the pick-up location were very confusing. I wasn't sure which line was for people who had reservation. I figured it out in the end by asking people who were in lines. So, better signs for directing the customers to the right place would be a plus. Again, all the staffs were very friendly and helpful, and I really appreciate it (I was with 3 kids waiting for the car at around 1 am). Drop off was easy. Again, staff were very helpful. I would recommend Avis.

I arrived in time at 2 AM to pick up my car to be told by the staff that they no longer have any cars and there is that there is nothing that they can do for us!!!!!!!! My wife and i were left stranded with 4 luggage and had to take an Uber for $400 to our home. You will be hearing from my lawyer. Tarik

Pros:

i came here after my reservation with ACE fell through - these guys brought me an upgrade in about 5 minutes despite not even having a registration for more than half an hour. was really impressed, & that's not something i'm used to saying about car rental places.

Cons:

one "invisible bill", possibly linked to a toll bridge...or is that troll bridge? hmm

The “midsize suv” was a tiny Corolla Cross which is a crossover economy platform not an SUV of any kind. And it was expensive and the pick up area at JFK is torn up badly!
