Pros: "The whole Business experience on SQ"
Cons: "During the same trip I discovered 2 different arrangements of the Business Class cabin on Singapore Airlines A350, SQ469 CMB-SIN, and SQ036 SIN-LAX. On the SQ036, I occupied seat 15 A (mono, aisle-window): I did not understand the reasoning behind this layout: Seat facing straight the front of the aircraft, but not enough space to stretch the legs, and limited height for the footrest, feet getting hurled against a ceiling very quickly, and also footrest only on one side = one foot. The deep cavity, that is probably meant to house the lie-flat disposition, is at a 45° angle with the general direction of the seat. I am 77 and not in any way a contortionist. I decided that the best course of action was to remain seated for the duration of the 14:30 hours, flight without extending my legs. Maybe the crew could have explained how the passenger is supposed to fit into that weird design, but I did not ask, afraid that the demonstration might reawaken chronic shoulder and hip pain. I would be glad to read (not test) how this configuration is supposed to convey the sense of comfort expected from a Business Class ticket. It did nothing of the kind for me."

Pros: "To be honest I had a pretty bad flight because my allergies exploded during the entire flight - constant sneezing, runny nose, you name it. However, the attentiveness of the crew really made up for it. The cabin was decorated with tiny wreathes (so cute!), and the pillow/blanket was very comfortable/warm for an Economy seat. Although I did not use it as much, the entertainment seemed top-notch. And the crew-- they noticed that I was not feeling well, and offered me peppermint tea and snacks that did sooth things a bit (you can request for snack/beverage refills anytime!). I loved that they gave out black socks to the passengers too (I prefer taking my shoes off during the flight, so the socks added warmth & prevented my own socks from getting dirty). All in all, it was one of the best-serviced long flights I had, not to mention probably the most affordable price I paid for my annual trip to Korea (from LA)."

True enough, the cabin crew did not help her to place her bag in the luggage compartment; the cabin crew did not serve water when requested, and on second attempt, the cabin crew told her to request at the ground. The cabin crews she has encountered clearly expressed their unwillingness to serve with their face and action. Is this the new direction of Singaore Air? The entertainment system requires installation of an app, hence is practically useless since we do not have the app preinstalled in our device."

One bathroom was out of commission for our 14 hour flight and limited our section of the plane to one bathroom. The remaining bathroom was very dirty and lacked supplies. When I asked for some help to have it cleaned, the attendant told me she would have to lock it down but there was already a big line of people waiting to use it. Disappointed in this flight because it was so long with limited facilities. Enjoyed other times I had used Emirates but not this time."

The food was good: an unbelievable improvement from the previous flight (I recommend the chicken). The ICE system was impeccable. It had a wide selection of movies, TV shows, and games as well as access to the news. However, the flight's greatest perk my have been the compassionate crew. They were very helpful and friendly. They offered many accommodations, like a pizza and photo, all for free. Overall, the flight went very well."

On top of that, neither could give me boarding passes that would work for the other. The customer service kiosk took about 15 minutes to get this done for Jet Blue in JFK."

My fellow passengers from my flight were also not allowed onto the plane, and while we were arguing (including being told that the plane was full) other passengers from an even later flight were allowed on board! Instead I had to wait many hours in the terminal (because apparently there were no hotel rooms available!?) to get a flight to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (!!!?) where I could get a Cathay flight to Hong Kong. This meant I arrived 14 hours later than scheduled. Absolutely abysmal service, with no sympathy and no responsibility from any employees."

I'm certain that Emirates has a protocol for gate announcements, but one of their employees certainly didn't know what it was."

Cons: "Was sitting in 41D. By the team they came to my seat, they ran out of the standard vegetarian meal. I was told I 'had to pre-order' the veg meal, although it had never happened in the 10+ long haul 14-hr flights I've taken with Emirates in the past. I was under the impression you only had to pre-order special meals like religious (Jain, Hindu) meals and not the std veg meal. Emirates should advise so while booking a ticket. Secondly the flight attendant who was telling me this was INCREDIBLY rude. This was extremely uncharacteristic from Emirates crew as I had always come across very pleasant flight attendants. This particular attendant constantly, and very indifferently, asked me if I wanted chicken or lamb, despite me repeatedly saying I am a vegetarian. This continued for a couple of minutes, and then she got flustered, rudely asked again if I want to eat or not. I said I am not going to eat a non-veg meal, and then she dragged the tray away. Without offering me any kind of veg alternative (Emirates carries pizzas as well in this long haul flights). I ended up not eating anything for that meal. Extremely unpleasant experience which was not expected from Emirates."

Overall my exsperience with your airline was a disaster for a so called international airline and i would never recomend to my friends to fly with you ."

I had no problem with that and was prepared with my credit card to make payment only to be told "oops there was an error" and the transaction could not be completed. I called the Garuda contact number in the U.S. twice and was told there was nothing that could be done from the US and I would have to take care of it when I arrived in Bangkok. I probably will never fly Garuda again so it really will not be a problem."

This was the reason, why a chose KLM! Then I tried to connected on board but I couldn’t! WiFi was not available. Crew told me that they don’t know anything about it! I was disappointed and angry."

DFW to MN, St Paul to Schipole, Amsterdam to final destination, Glasgow. So he ends up having to pay for another Lyft back to our apartment in Dallas, then another additional one for the 12 noon flight the next morning. If he didn't have family living in Dallas, he would've incurred a hotel fee too."
Cons: "He was bumped to the next day due to his flight being cancelled. Then re-booked the next day, with an additional layover. Then due to a 32 minute layover that left 3 minutes sooner..."

Eventually, the ground crew did start yelling and organizing people, which helped correct the situation. I do think that all people should be kicked back to the end of the line for not following the procedure. Food was only okay (Fish in shrimp sauce)."

Pros: "First let me say I am a big fan of Philippine airlines. The customer service is outstanding, I am always made to feel very comfortable and the movie selection is great. I would give them a 10/10...if it weren’t for the surprisingly below-average special meal selection....read on..."
Cons: "I have been a gluten-sensitive foodie for 7 years. I am not vegetarian. I still eat sugar, salt, spices, dairy, and fat. I have order a GF special meal for the past 3 or 4 trips I’ve flown but I always end up asking for one of the regular meals instead because the GF meals are SO awful. They are completely devoid of all salt, sauces, spices or any flavor, and are so bland that it’s like eating astronaut cardboard food. For example...the last flight I took (Manila-San Francisco), the regular meal options were a chicken sausage dish with some mashed potatoes and veggies, a wonderful colorful julienne vegetable salad, a flan pudding (GF by nature) and some bread with butter. The other option was a delicious smelling pork belly over rice (seriously some of the best pork belly I’ve ever had) and some veggies with the same sides. Everything was gluten-free except for the bread roll and looked much more colorful and fresher overall. By contrast, the GF “special” meal that I received was a plain chicken breast with no salt, steamed veggies that were overcooked and mushy to the point of colorless baby food, with no spices or sauces, a watered-down fruit salad, a rice cake with no butter and a banana instead of dessert. I was amazed at how bland and flavorless it was. Gluten-free does not mean sugar-free, low-fat, or dairy free. It simply means the absence of wheat flour. I still like sauces and spices. And I still like butter. A non-fruit dessert would have been nice. And since when does gluten-free mean flavor-free? I would have MUCH rather preferred the regular meal option with just a gluten-free rice cake substitute. Thank god they had extra regular meals for me to eat instead. Point being…if you’re not extreme celiac and just gluten-sensitive, I recommend ordering off the regular menu and just omitting the bread roll. The flavorless meal isn’t worth it!"

There was no notice given so we arrived at the airport on time only to wait for almost 2 hours. PAL has a monopoly on the route and charges almost $100 for a 45 minute flight. I understand the pricing but not notifying passengers when a flight is going to be that late simply reflects a lack of concern on the part of PAL."

After verifying our information, she proceeded to tell us we had no reserved seats for our flight. When I told her we had seat numbers (thus reserved seats) when I checked their website the night before, she had the audacity to imply that we were lying about these mediocre seats! After speaking to the supervisor, she then proceeded to tell us that we should be thankful for the seats she was able to give us, WHICH WERE THE EXACT SAME SEATS THAT WERE LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE THE DAY BEFORE. Philippine Airlines need to better train their check-in personnel proper customer service to prevent passengers from having such unpleasant experiences with their staff. Our check-in process would have gone smoothly had she not replied in such a snarky manner to us and implied that we owe her for the seats we had in the first place."

We waited 2 hours in the plane for 4 people who were late for the flight, then the cargo handlers didn't show up. We left at 5am instead of 3am. The flight attendants didn't seem to know why we weren't leaving. Two short announcements were made in 2 hours that didn't explain properly why we sat there so long. The food was wretched. The flight attendants were pleasant but the captain and the purser's announcements were hard to understand with poor English."

Cons: "Crew was rude. I paid for an emergency exit seat, only to find out the manager at the check-in counter gave me a seat with hardly (if any) extra leg room. I moved to the back of the plane where there were 6 open emergency exit seats with no one in front of them. I sat down and was immediately told you had to pay for these seats. I explained the situation and they ended up having me get my receipt to prove I had paid. Overall bad experience."

Pros: "Philippines Airlines is quite comfortable in economy class and the staff are friendly."
Cons: "Too many times people I talk to have a problem with connecting flights because of PAL's lateness. Again, my flight was delayed. I will say that they held my PAL connecting flight to Cebu which was great for me but would suck for all the passengers waiting for my flight!"
