despite réservation confirmation, no car available!! Enterprise agency manager very unfriendly and called another agency only after we insisted to do so! For car return we where told to give back car with half tank full what we did but still have been charged for “missing fuel”

Pros:

Not much, the manager in San Marcos, CA Las Posas branch is a disgrace. She has the customer service skills of a Bad Lawyer. After spending vlose to $1,000 in last 30 days she decided she didn’t like me because I reminded her of her ex husband who left her for another man.

Cons:

Professional behavior, friendly, let’s make customer happy attitude.

Cons:

The cost I got on line was $143, but when I picked up car they had a new price of over $230. After my trip I had to make several calls to get it adjusted to the price I was given when I booked.

Budget was great. I requested a vehicle to be picked up @ the airport. KAYAK reserved a vehicle @ a Budget location far away. The airport Budget Manager was able to change our reservation and rent us a van with the same discounts. Budget was great; Kayak sucks!!!

I actually returned my car in another city. When we arrived I was told there would be an extra $300 charge. But the charge was nowhere on my contract or reservation. The representative in the parking lot told me to ask at the counter, which was mobbed. Fortunately, a representative at the desk agreed to help and eventually said there would be no additional charge, except for my deserved one hour late fee :)

Cons:

Upon completion of my reservation with kayak, it gave me a complete price w/ taxes and fees included. Upon arrival to puck up rental they charged me an additional $7 sighting only the base price is guaranteed and that additional fees could be charged that kayak was unaware of and i would need to take it up with kayak.com. If this is true, i could not find any disclaimer on kayak website to the fact. If its says s total with taxes and fees then that should be the price with no suprise charges upon arrival.

The office texted me while I was in the air flying to my destination and informed me they were closing the office and had no car to lend me. It put me in a precarious situation as I was traveling with my parents who are in their 90s.

They had no cars I had to take an electric car it felt like it was bait and switch. I’ve never used an electric vehicle and no one showed me how to do it. Frustrating and had to go the charging station 3x the first two times apparently I wasn’t doing it right. Had to ask someone else who was at the station how to do it.

The van was extremely comfortable and had a lot of modern tech. The tech was not so refined, however. The CarPlay kept rebooting mid-drive for some reason, the automatic doors were frustrating and the adaptive cruise control was horrifically incompetent. The standard cruise was great and the ride itself was superb. Very comfy and quiet ride.

Not a thing. This was literally the worst car rental experience I've ever had

Here's the story - I booked ahead of time, pre paid to ensure we had a car. Decided to treat the family and surprise the kids with a convertible (they've never ridden in one, and hey why not? it's sunny southern California!). Got all confirmations aligned, had a pick up time and car agreed upon, was charged my full rate, figured I was good to go. WRONG! Because of the awful customer service from Kayak and this absolutely Terrible company Hertz I was stranded without a car and grossly overspent on Ubers to get me around for the week. Will NEVER use either Kayak or Hertz again... Two hours before the defined time (4pm) I get a call from the rental place. "Please call us back when you can" ... oh boy... I called was greeted by a VERY rude agent who was completely unapologetic - "we don't have a car for you." I got some lame excuse about other people not returning their cars, even though they had set up a rental with me. So, I waited while she ran through why I should care about what the company is going through. Finally had a chance to speak, "okay so where does that leave me?" - answered with the same "We don't have a car for you"... frustrating to say the least. So here I am, on vacation with my children, the excitement I wanted to see in their eyes fading. "Okay, so what other options are out there," I asked, knowing I had already paid for one of the most expensive cars they had, I figured they'd offer a discounted rate for an alternative car. Apparently htis company has never heard of customer service, instead they said the have no cars at all and offered me a cargo van...for me and my children. Not exactly a convertable...nor acceptable. In sort it ended with me not having a car, them saying that it's not their fault / problem and that I should not have booked through Kayak, because there is a technical gap that allows us to book cars that are actually not available. Because of Kayak and this absolutely Terrible company Hertz I was stranded without a car and grossly overspent on Ubers to get me around for the week. Will NEVER use either Kayak or Hertz again...
