Both the desk and plane staff arranged for my husband and myself to have 4 seats to ourselves (luckily, it wasn't a full flight!) which allowed me to rest and put my feet up (literally!) through our long journey. They also checked on us frequently to make sure we were comfortable throughout. Thanks so much Qantas, we will definitely be traveling with you again with our little one in tow!"

Kayak and Kiwi.com should not have allowed us to book that flight because there was never 90 minutes prior to our international flight. I am very disappointed in Kayak and will reconsider using this site to book in the future. We had to buy an entirely new flight to get to Fiji which costed us an extra $700. I would like to speak or email with a customer service representative to discuss this issue."

It was a complete mess at the check in desk. There were several issues with other passengers that caused two gate agents to be tied up for upper 30 minutes. Rather than taking them to customer service they continued to block the line. Then with Economy gates being down to only 3 (with my guess at over 100 people waiting to check in) one of the agents used the economy line to service business class pasangers, when there were already 3 agents serving the business class patrons. While I understand business entitles you to special priorities but to have your economy passengers (who are all paying over $1500 a ticket) to have to wait so long for business passages to all walk straight get up can waiting 5 minutes felt very wrong and made many people upset. My family was waiting to see me off and subsequently got charges $30 in parking due to the delay in check in. Also communication at the gate was very poor. Flight was delayed several times due to wind and no announcement came from ground staff, only way I knew was due to an email. I could tell a lot of guests were very distressed. Very disappointed from a company that prides itself on service."

Pros: "I have been traveling at least 4 times in a year for last 20 years. I never had such a worst staff specially the Msnager of Fiji airline ground staff at Sydney airport named Christopher. Such a rude ignorant person. The amount of luggage including baby stroller I traveled from Los Angeles to Nadi. Nadi to Sydney was perfectly fine. When I checkin from Sydney to los angles, the Fiji manager said you have to pay for stroller. I said I came all the way from Los Angeles to Sydney like that and I even showed the tags too, Christopher said Sydney has different policy. I left the stroller to him and Saud to him keep it for your kids and came back home without baby stroller."

We had never been in Sydney, could not find a transfer desk (there was none) found the ticketing counter - nobody there, found the airline office - nobody there, went back to the ticket counter nobody still there, asked a competing airline, they directed us to an air travel management office, where we found Fiji Air personnel. They were surprised we were not told where to go. they tracked down the office manager. We finally met with him at 1:40 PM, he told us our flight was in the domestic terminal and scheduled to leave at 2:00 PM. There was no way we could make it to the plane on time. He was rather rude to us and asked us how we thought we were getting to Brisbane, We responded with "I don't know as we've never been here before". Having never been there. we did not know there was an international and a domestic terminal at the Sydney airport. He told us who we were to fly out on and he was going to call over to the other airline and straighten it out. We went to the domestic terminal tried to check in for our flight, but we could not. That airline called Fiji Air to find out why, after half an hour they were told Fiji Air would not honor our flight as we were noted as "no Shows"/. We had to book another flight to Brisbane. The flights were great, we have had VERY BAD EXPERIENCES with the ground personnel,"

Cons: "We had a banana from LAX airport and intended to eat it on the 13-hour overnight flight. Unfortunately we forgot about it. The customs at Nadi found it on X-ray and slapped us with FJ$400 fine! One of the Fijian bio security officer told us that "by handing out big fines, we hope the airlines will remind passengers of biosecurity rules...". But Fijian airways failed to do that. $400 fine is a horrible start of your vacation and we will never come back to visit Fiji. We will also advise all our friends not to visit Fiji on facebook."

Cons: "I was not given a meal for dinner. When I asked they sheepishly looked away from me and told me that there would be a voucher when we landed. We did not get any voucher,nor did they make an announcement that they ran out of food and would not be able to feed half of the plane. I am extremely disappointed in how this was handled, as people next to me were given first class meals and I was given one piece of cheese and one cracker. In the morning for breakfast my meal almost didn't come, I had to ask for it. And when it was given to me it was already opened and messed with."

Cons: "We had to pay $400 dollars to check 4 bags (2 bags per person). The bags were not overweight or oversized. We were told we had purchased a ticket with no baggage. I am a frequent traveler ( 10 flights in 6 weeks) and have never experienced such charges for baggage. It was not clear at the time of purchase that there were different levels of tickets. The agents at the counter was only interested in maximizing the fees we were charged and not helping us with other options. The plane was late and there was very limited seating in the waiting area, so most people stood for the extra 40 minutes of the delay."

Cons: "You have to pay for EVERYTHING, including entertainment. You may think you have found a great deal, but look at the extras before you purchase. This is the mistake I made. I didn't have a meal because their website was not working for me to pre-order. When I mentioned this to them through chat, they said they have food available for purchase in flight. When I was ready to purchase (the second time they were walking the isles) they said they have no food left and offered me cheese and crackers, to which they then asked me to pay for! So on our 11 hour flight we had 4 crackers and some cheese. Before boarding the plane we were told we were only allowed 1 carry-on and 1 personal item. We left some luggage behind thinking we would not be allowed to take it on our flight. Upon boarding, we saw that the row behind us had large amounts of carry-on forcing our entire row to stow out luggage 4 rows away. I'll never be flying with jet star again."

Cons: "Had to pay a surcharge for bags that was not clear at the time of booking, was supposed to be "per bag" but the airline did us a favor and only charged us for one bag. While that seems nice, it's clear it's a bogus charge if rules don't need to be followed. One flight the baggage fee was $50, another was $160 - with these costs included they are actually more expensive than other airlines. Took an international flight and all food and drinks on the flight had to be purchased, pretty ridiculous that the airline does not include water over a three hour travel time."

Pros: "I wasn't happy about the boarding part of it. On our tickets we were boarding through gat 18B and was changed to gate three but there was a serious communication breakdown so much that we had to rush to gate 3 the last minute thing after we looked or made enquiries for ourselves"

Cons: "The flight was just under an hour and a half. It felt like the intercom was running constantly. They were selling raffle tickets for a car, they were selling snacks, they were asking for donations to a charity. The constant intercom communications were very frustrating. There is also a hidden $50 fee per checked bag with a limit of 15Kg. After that there is a charge for every kilogram over 15. We ended up paying $220 in baggage fees. It would have been cheaper to buy two more seats and buckle our luggage in."

Pros: "Initially I liked the price and time of the flight, but the amount you have to pay for luggage negated the first thing, so all I was left with was convenient timing. The plane crew was nice, though as there was no beverage or food service unless you paid for it (they will give you tap water for free), there wasn't much for them to do."
Cons: "They weigh your carry-on bag and have a ridiculous 7kg (combined personal and carry-on) limit. Then they blast you with a $25 per kg overage, so if you have the misfortune of being 5kg over (as I was) you get the pleasure of a $125 fee (which I just saw my card was charged $250 - I need to contest that). The seats are so thin you feel the tray of the seat behind you pressing into your back the whole flight, and they recline maybe a whole 2 inches. There is no entertainment, no beverage or snack service and the plane sounds and feels like a cheap car with terribly loud noise and no shocks. As I said in the title, I'd recommend quantas or new Zealand air and spend slightly more (or maybe less after the baggage overage fees) for a better all around experience."

Pros: "My son and I had previously taken Jetstar from Bangkok to Melbourne (out of desperation; our Thai visa was expiring), so we already knew about a) no complementary food or beverages (you get one glass of water if you ask, then are pointed to the back of the plane and the tap) b) having to pay to watch movies c) no email confirmation of flight d) uncomfortable seats What we did not know but learned on our next JetStar flight (Melbourne to Honolulu), a week later: -again, no email confirmation, and as we were out of continent, we had no personal cellphone usage so no text to tell us the flight would be leaving 3.5 hours late (other customers were getting conflicting texts) .. -we were charged a criminal $160\each extra for our backpacks at checkout!! They said it was weight, and that our packs were too large for carry-on. (Frankly, upon reading all the other comments here, I am beginning to think this is a scam, and they need to be called on it.) As we paid an extra $320, plus the airline was late, I asked if we might at least get a $10 meal voucher. Answer? No. The airline has to be 4 hours late. -asked for a pillow and blanket for the approximately 10-hr night flight. Answer: "No pillows, and you had to book a blanket in advance." I am outraged."

Pros: "The Dreamliner jet was fun to ride. The higher humidity levels allowed in it was definitely noticeable. The touch screens were responsive albeit the fact they'd have to occasionally reboot itself from system crashes. Tons of overhead compartment space."
Cons: "They had problems finding my wife's name in check-in. Customer service on-board wasn't horrible, but I've experienced better. Bad bathroom maintenance on one flight left it without paper the entire trip."

Staff was not understanding of why that might be confusing, and kept referencing the amount of numbers in the flight number that should have magically indicated to us that it was an international flight."

And They did not board by rows or any other method it is come one come all chaos. Then while we were in the baggage police came by to check the weight of our carry-ons. They did not check everyone only some. We were among the unfortunates that got checked. We were slightly over there a maximum and had to check two carry-ons. Another $25 each. everything about the airline seems cheap. The seats do not even have a little pocket in front of you to put things like glasses or books. They must've saved $1.50 on each seat. After all the extra charges it would've been cheaper to book with her quality airline. Unfortunately we have a return flight booked and can't get our money back so I'll have to fly one more time. But never again."
