I know you have to pay for this but as a gold member you might have thought they could accommodate if vacant and me being unable to fit my legs behind the chair. Only 3 working toilets for all of economy wasn’t enough either. Entertainment didn’t seem to be as good as previous American flights."

Received sms that new flight is 2pm Received email that new flight is 3pm Called virgin who guaranteed me it’s 3pm so I asked for that in writing...no was the answer Asked to speak to mgr, same lady came back to now “guarantee “ it’s 2pm. Spoke to mgr this time guaranteed 2pm and Will email in half hour (I’ll be boarding by then ! Sorry best I can do but you are now in seat 3a economy x. Asked for complaint to be lodged, unsure if she did? At virgin check in no details of everything above. Showed lady two conflicting msgs from virgin and the above so she put me in 3a... I could have been there at 3pm if I didn’t ask for it in writing. That potentially could have cost me upwards of a grand if I had to stay another night in Sydney and another ticket... not happy!!!"

Cons: "My flight was delayed, the girl at reception had me blocked off seats and when the delta girl was looking into why the plane was delayed, she rebooked my seat. She said a virgin rep would have to rebook my seats, when I got la, the lady was rude and didn’t seem to care about what happened. She said the manager would talk to me, he never did. I asked to upgrade my seat then and she said the flight was closed to due to the delay. I don’t understand why I had to be penalized because each flight was delayed"
Cons: "We were charged an extra $130 each for our checked baggage because we didn’t pay for the baggage online. I was never prompted to pay any checked baggage fee upon purchase of the tickets. And no info was given about cost of checked bags. Absolute ripoff."

Expect airlines that offer “full service” to offer something better for the price, also the fact that no fixed TVs or iPads and you have to use your phone to watch movies, at least get a phone holder on the back of the seat."

Pros: "Economy X was definitely worth the minimal cost to upgrade. I loved more leg room (which used to be a "normal" economy size), upgraded noise-cancelling headphones, and having my food earlier so it was piping hot (although still not-so-great airline food)."
Cons: "The touch screen of my monitor barely worked. Aside from that, the jack for my audio was not working properly. Once I could finally watch a movie, the sound would cut off for a while. I'd have to do my darndest to rewind the movie, while trying to get the audio jack to work. It took a lot of work to get the movie to rewind, and then after it started, I couldn't get the touch screen to work for it to stop & play again. Sometimes it would rewind the movie 20-30 minutes before I could get it to play again. All very frustrating."

She put other customers on different flights to make their connections, but when I approached was denied, and ensured we would make out next flight. Missed the next flight and had to wait another 3.5 hours for the next flight, even after explaining the situation to a gentleman at the customer service desk, he said he could not help us, and gave my partner and i am $8 food voucher while we waited as a 'sorry'. Then on the way home another 30 min delay. horrible first experience flying, Was very disappointed in the customer service & missed my brothers wedding. I should have booked Qantas instead of Virgin."

Cons: "I almost missed the bus shuttle to my terminal. I had no idea I had to board the last bus at 11pm. At no stage this was made clear to me. I was one of the last passengers to board as result. Airline check-in staff took my infant safety seat from me at the gate saying this was not "FAA" approved as it did not have the Australian / New Zealand safety sticker on it. I live in America, I purchased the road safe new car seat this year, and traveled from Seattle. Of coarse it did not have the sticker on it. Gate staff removed the seat from me despite the toddler screaming and myself almost being in tears. I was one of the last passengers to board. With no comfort or restraint for my toddler he screamed most of the flight, kicked the passengers seats in front on him, got so overtired that he bit his own lip open. It was an awful trip that could of been avoided."
