I travel a lot, I usually fly Qantas and they are very good at providing seats closer to the front. Once in a new seat though I was good and comfortable until a crew member had issues with my placement in an empty row that he wanted to use later in the flight to take a nap. What he did next was not nice, lacked communication and almost ruined the long flight for me. If it wasn't for the rest of the crew being great and his managers apologizing and listening to the full complaint I would probably have decided never to take China airlines again. The flight attendant are so uptight and would give you attitude when ask for assistance...this is a customer service industry, if you don't want to be at your workplace then leave. The plane is old and no entertainment offer."

Cons: "More often than not, Philippine Airlines has been our airline of choice because we found their rates to be fair and flights direct and easy. Despite the fact that the PAL terminal was pretty poor, and the food on board was never really decent, we remained loyal to PAL for quite a few years. On our way back to Melbourne from Manila on June 17, Saturday, Colin, Hendrix and I were awaiting boarding at gate 10 for flight PR 209. Having flown with PAL from Melbourne to Manila (as well as with another airline from Manila to Manchester and back), we understood that the usual procedure was to allow passengers with infants to board first. Due to the lack of order (there were no clear queues in sight), Colin decided to ask 3 different PAL personnel if there was, indeed, a priority queue for people travelling with infants. ALL THREE PERSONNEL ASSURED US THAT THEY WERE NOT YET BOARDING AND THAT WE WOULD BE CALLED UPON PRIOR TO THEM LETTING ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANE. 2 minutes later, a PAL personnel appears with signage that reads certain row numbers and begins to call out to ALL PASSENGERS FOR BOARDING. Colin swiftly rushes to the front (me and baby in tow) and demands an explanation as to why we were told one thing but are watching them act upon something completely different. I wish I was joking when I tell you that the personnel just stared blankly at us and then carried on checking boarding passes. No apologies, no explanation offered. As soon as we boarded, Colin turned to the first flight steward he saw and asked for a complaint form and told this could ONLY be done online, to which Colin requested we be given the email/web address upon take off. The seats assigned to us were on the right most side of the aircraft, a window and a middle seat. As Colin was placing our bags in the overhead compartment, the steward called to Colin from across the aisle (past the 3 seats in the middle of the plane) to introduce the purser, Jolly Bello. Please note this was happening while people were also trying to get past and get to their seats -and Mr. bello called out across the aisle, "I heard you have a complaint??" to which Colin, baffled, replied "yes do you want to come over here so we aren’t shouting over these people?". Colin yet again told this purser what the complaint was about and was asked (verbatim) "so would you like to make a complaint against THEM?" Would the correct protocol not be to 1. Apologise for any confusion, miscommunication or poor service, 2. Take some responsibility and acknowledge the complaint and 3. Maybe come approach us AFTER TAKE OFF and not while everyone is trying to board the plane? We are no longer choosing Philippine Airlines."

Perhaps a nominal $100 upgrade fee when seats are empty in business class? I'm assuming the reason business was empty is it's just too expensive? Maybe a price adjustment is in order rather than letting those seats sit empty? Overall, the flight was a pleasant experience. The seat situation was just a blemish on the trip. I will continue to use Philippine Airlines though probably in the future. Thank you."

I’ve listed these below: 1) Entertainment system is poorly appointed and travel in two seperate months found that little had been refreshed on the in flight programs. 2) The entertainment system is deactivated until the seat belt sign is turned off, and is deactivated again about 30 minutes prior to landing. 3) You practically have to cut off your arm to get some water. I would always bring my own water on the flight, but Australian regulations prevent more than 100mls being carried on flight. 4) The service is inconsistent, some staff are just downright rude and others are incredibly friendly. The time waiting after pressing the call bell is excessive and in one case my drink never arrived. 5) Unlike other airlines, they don’t give you a “menu” to chose from for the inflight meal. Instead they just come around asking “Chicken, Lamb or vegetarian”, and lack any real understanding of what’s actually in the food. 6) When you order a drink, they open the can pour some into a cup but don’t give you the remainder in the can. 7) The inflight wifi is expensive. 19.95 USD for 180mb puts them at one of the most expensive. Overall, I would have expected a bit more from an airline such as Etihad."

The difference of inflight entertainment technology was certainly VERY noticeable & I actually preferred it. Better, clearer, bigger screens. I asked him where could I go or who could I ask to get the seat. This back and forth continued for some time where he kept saying he could not sell me the seat but I would then say, “I understand that, but do you know who can or where I can go to find someone who knows where I can buy an upgrade?” The attendant got VERY VERY upset that I was even ASKING. As if I were asking for some OUTRAGEOUS request!! I asked to speak with the manager several times. He continued by ignoring me and just saying NO! Finally he pointed to some lady beside him. I don't know if she was the manager or not, but she was on the phone and barely gave ten seconds of a glance to the situation. He asked me"Are you gonna go or not?" I could tell that he cared absolutely nothing about me or my request and was extremely dismissive in asking me this. Finally, he dismissively told me to ask the flight attendant. I could tell that this young man would be of no further help AT ALL, so I gave my ticket, went on board and thought to just try and ask a flight attendant. Right before I went to give my ticket to the man who was taking tickets, I heard the boarding gate man walk away mumbling how ANNOYING I was in Chinese. I know this because I SPEAK Chinese. This is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I continued to go on board hoping the flight attendants might actually have some information. When I asked, who I thought was the flight attendant, about purchasing a seat, it turns out that she was the customer service agent on the flight, she gave no effort to even try to hear what I was communicating to her. I know about communication and as a public speaking instructor, I know how to listen and to speak. She continued to raise her voice and talk over me, although I remained very calm and tried talking to her logically. I tried to communicate to her that I was attempting to purchase one of the empty business class seats that I had seen were empty. I checked the seating of the flight from the united airlines app before I had even boarded the plane. The lady continued to be very rude and uncaring. She talked over me, did not listen, her responses did not make sense, she very loudly kept asking me " CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THAT??" as if I was a child or as if I was confrontational when I absolutely was not. I noticed I had been trying to communicate for a while.wordlimit"

No food vouchers were offered and passengers were kept in the dark for long periods of time. The return flight was also slightly delayed. This is not a good reputation for an airlines to have. United will not be my first choice of airlines in the future."

Every minute lost could prevent customers from obtaining another immediate or comparable flight to their destination. Customer service agent sent those who were going to have problems with their connecting flights to the United Airlines service desk, of which, there were no customer service agents at any of the four available stations. I waited 10 minutes for an agent & no one arrived. When I went back to the original line I was standing in, I was forced to go to the back of the line rather than the place I was originally standing.
