Cons: "Our flight to Bali was cancelled due to the volcano eruption. We did not receive any compensation, but Singapore/Silk Airlines told us they were able to get us a flight home to LAX instead, but that it wouldn't be until the next day. We spent money on a hotel and food and waited until the next morning, got to the airport early for check in only to find that Singapore/Silk had in fact, given up our seats that they had promised us. They said that we now would have to wait another day just to get a flight from Singapore to LAX. We asked to speak with a manager, and eventually were able to get two seats due to cancellations. This was intended to be a very special and romantic trip that was essentially ruined. Since no one could have anticipated that the volcano would cause cancellation, we should be refunded for our flights. We are so crushed that we did not get to go to Bali, and now we may NEVER get to go because we are out of money. At the VERY least, the leg of our flights from Singapore to Bali, and Bali to Singapore, should be refunded. We are extremely disappointed."

Other airlines put a sticker in front of you if you slept through the meal time."

The spicy fish dish tasted like it had been fouled during the delay. I like spicy fish generally but this tasted tainted."

I should have booked Qantas instead of Virgin."

Cons: "there were not enough desks to check in at brisbane so many people missed there connecting flights. I flew with Delta and the process was much easier. Simply just dropped my bags off. Was also told the flight was being held, then when I arrived at the desk was told my bags wouldn't make it on the plane."

Pros: "Overall this flight from Brisbane to LAX was fairly pleasant. Despite being reluctant to commit to any changes in the (uncomfortably cold) cabin temperature, one of the crew did respond to my inquiry by returning to say they had adjusted the temp upward to 24C, which in my mind earns them an A for Effort. What I had of the food was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. The touch screens seemed to work much more effectively than in the past, so those may have been upgraded. The crew I dealt with were generally very pleasant and responsive. The restrooms had sufficient toilet paper (never a guarantee), and as a stroke of luck, there was virtually no turbulence, that always makes things nicer."
Cons: "I was right by the gate before the flight but never heard any announcement calling out rows, the economy passengers just started herding themselves (as always) and eventually got in line/on the plane in what seemed to be a haphazard fashion. Like so many times before, the air conditioning was set too cold (they said it was set to 22C as if this is normal - that might be an average setting of comfort for a grown male wearing a full suit and walking around in an office setting, but not for a plane half full of females who aren't able to move around and get their blood circulating). The music and movie selections seemed to have changed over the years. I have pleasant memories of Virgin Australia offering virtually anything your heart could desire at the touch of a button, but this time around I couldn't find any artists that I recognized let alone liked, and the movie selection seemed much thinner. Licensing issues perhaps? For me this was actually disappointing."

And to make it worse, this was the most difficult problem that me and my friends encountered throughout all the flights that we took. We nearly miss this flight as we actually went to the boarding gate that was reflected incorrectly on our boarding pass as stated earlier. There was also an unannounced delay. Flight estimated departure is at 1720HRS, but the flight only took off 1750HRS."

Pros: "There were choices of foods. I really liked the fact that they considered Korean natives as they gave kimchi together with their dishes. Attendants were polite and kind. 30kg allowance is a great merit too."
Cons: "Frequent delays in flights and changes in timings. There were many passengers and it's quite hard to carry my carrier through the alley. The foods may be in variety but did not taste very nice."

Cons: "My checked bag did not arrive at my work city of Singapore. It took 2 days to be brought to my hotel despite my being told they would be on the next flight. I arrived back in Denpasar yesterday and, again, my bags are lost and I again I was told they would be on the next flight. I still do not have my bag. Seems to be a pattern with Malaysian Airways and I will avoid them in the future, Also, I left my Ipad plugged in at the Premier Lounge in Denpasar and realized it as I was boarding the plane. The Malaysian Air boarding staff got on radios and appeared to try to help by telling them to put aside for pick up upon my return. Yesterday, The Premiere lounge said they did not have it despite my name, email and phone number being written on the Ipad. Between Malaysian Air and the Lounge and their lack of concern and professionalism it was not a good trip. As One World Emerald member, I steer a lot of business towards these One World Airlines. I expect better treatment."

No direction, terrible communication. The attendant in Bali lied to me, knowingly. I had to miss a day of work due to this. And this all could have been avoided if they would have held the second plane just 30 more minutes."

We arrived not knowing this is a budget airline and you have to pay for everything. Due to weight restrictions they forced us to check our carryon luggage for $100 AUD per item. They said their website tells you of this fee but 3rd party sites, such as Kayak, does NOT upon booking. We were very frustrated to be paying such a large fee to check our carry on luggage. Kayak should tell you about these hidden fees upon booking as the fees were in the fine print AFTER booking and we simply did not read the fine print. Very disappointed in the lack of communication from Kayak. Entertainment cost an additional $10 and their choices were limited, food and drinks also cost $ on the plane."

I chose jet star as a cheaper option but ended up paying way more."

Cons: "Many, many things, starting with their ridiculous practice of weighing luggage and charging accordingly. I'm used to airlines charging for checked luggage, that's no problem, but to only allow 7 kg of weight on checked bags is basically forcing everyone to just check their luggage. I figured my bag, which could easily fit in their tight bins, would be fine for carry on. I was wrong. Then, because i didn't realize their ludicrous system, I had to pay more than double because 'the flight has already opened for checking in'. This airline is laughable. They might start out the 'least expensive' option but by the time you're done with them nickel and diming you it's better to just book the more expensive flight with a legitimate airline. Oh, and did I mention that I paid for seats up front (again, another tactic for milking you dry) and I was so crammed that I couldn't move my legs? This airline is pathetic. I learned my lesson and will never fly Jetstar"

Didn't hand out immigration cards claiming they'd run out.."

Hand luggage checks should apply to all or nobody - random checks are nothing but a price gouge. If you're going to do it, at least give a voucher of some sort or some kind of incentive to choose jeststar again. Extremely poorly thought out procedure."

Pros: "Although the AirPort was struggling with an electricity problem, the waiting didn't take that long. They only had 2 people working with tablets instead of the computers with scanners. So i commend them on still getting everyone done so fast! The plane ride was just basic,"

NOT HAPPY!"

Cons: "Children 12 and 10 booked online to fly to Melbourne for Easter. I rang the call centre to ensure they could travel together unaccompanied, as website was not clear. I was advised they could, and because I was concerned I asked this be noted on our booking so we wouldn't have any issues at the gate. I was reassured the children could travel and they made a note as requested. Turn up for our flight today and at the gate after saying goodbye to my children, they're stopped from entering the plane and I'm told they can't travel, despite the advice I received from the call centre and the note on our booking showing we were given this advice. We did everything right to make sure we could travel, just to be refused at the gate. Disgusting."

Cons: "Jetstar is the worst airline around. Its absolutely ridiculous that they charge you 10X more for checked luggage at airport check-in. When I booked my flight 5 months in advance, I didn't see the option of buying luggage (and also didn't think it mattered at the time because normal airlines like Delta, United, etc. charge the same rate no matter when you decide). Thank goodness I knew to buy luggage before getting to the airport but was still charge $60 AUD (when it would have only been $35 if I did it when I originally booked). And it would have been over $150 if I waited for the airport. WHO THE F CARES WHEN I DECIDE TO CHECK A BAG??? YOU STILL HAVE TO GO TO THE COUNTER NO MATTER WHAT. Jetstar is such a low class airline. Then they wanted to weigh my carry-on which was 9kilo (2k over the limit)... full of all camera gear. The guy literally started yelling at me, made me feel so uncomfortable, and my eyes began to water. He was screaming to another woman in front of everyone that I was WAY over the weight limit and was to be charged $210. He was extremely aggressive. (This was a moment I wish I would have whipped out my phone and took a video... would have gone viral). The woman wasn't any better either. At first she was really aggressive and I hadn't said a word. I just watched them react as if I brought a weapon. She raised her voice at me yelling about the stupid luggage being too heavy.... and at that point I told her that she needed to lower her voice and talk to me like a human (let alone a customer). At that point she did realize that she was being ridiculous and lowered her voice (I might even give her the benefit of the doubt and say the guy may have rattled her). I explained to her that I was carrying expensive camera gear and batteries (which you cannot put in checked luggage) and that I'd be happy to put it in the checked bag (especially since I had extra kilos that I hadn't used). She said I would need to sign a waiver exempting them from being responsible if anything was stolen from my bag. I politely said absolutely not. If you cannot get my luggage to my destination safely then I would happily not get on the plane and walk over to the Air New Zealand desk and buy a ticket. At that point she looked me up and saw how much I flew with them and then decided to let me on the plane. Which mind you, the plane was 75% EMPTY. After all that. Geez. Never again Jetstar. Never again."

Pros: "Few crew members who went out of their way to ease our frustration"
Cons: "Surprise expenses Most people who buy directly through the Jetstar website add baggage allowance. You don't get this option when buying on Kayak. Poor connection and wait time The long layover was annoying, and proved costly, too. You need to buy a Visa in Australia if your layover is longer than 8 hours. Kayak doesn't warn you about this, and so you have to collect your baggage, go through customs, and buy a Visa. In sum, Kayak shouldn't allow you to purchasing strings-attached tickets from this airline."

Cons: "Jetstar are unreliable, and do their best to extort more money from customers than the seemingly low initial price. Since they don't refund anything, if you need to make a change, they charge like wounded bulls and push you onto flights with inconvenient times and connections, then lie barefacedly, telling you the better flights are full."

Cons: "I was informed 5 days in advance that my mid morning flight was cancelled due to "engineering reasons" via an unapologetic and unhelpful email. The burden was on me to reschedule (to a very inconvenient ultra early departure), and I had to twist the customer service fellow's arm to give me a beverage voucher in compensation. Then, when boarding I was mugged for my back pack. 50$ because it was over their utterly disingenuous 7kg "safety limit". It's not a safety rule - the CAA sets that. It's a revenue rule."

Cons: "Surcharge up to $160 if exceeding 7kg of all your carry on bags (including personal item). Rude employees relating this info to me and my husband."

Pros: "I didn't get to fly as I had 3 brain surgeries in NY in May last year and I got sick and couldn't fly so I rang and no one could help me save the tickets so I'm very disappointed and won't use this app again. I have used this app so many times flying to America and back to Tasmania and this is how I was treated after 4 phone calls begging for help as it was the first trip my son and I were going alone as I hadn't seen him for two years. Qantas paid for my airfares to come home after surgery and I'll stay with them from now on"

Cons: "At check-in we were forced to pay an extra $50. to check our carryon bags as there is a ridiculous 7kg limit for an international flight. Really?! This limit should be made clear before booking, next to the flight fee. Then we watched as people entered the plane with carryon that was clearly too big and heavy to be within the limit. They had obviously checked in on-line to avoid the fees. A lesson that encourages dishonesty. Really?! Then Jetstar wanted $4. for a cup of coffee in-flight. Really! And there is no alternative, other than going without, as no drinks can be brought on board given that security check is right at the gate. Crew were friendly and professional at all times and I felt sorry for them as they are the front-line for these ridiculous policies."

Instead of at least trying to seem like she was sorry to have to charge me such an exorbitant fee, she was smirking the whole time, as though she was getting some sort of commission on it.) Everything else was more or less standard for a budget airline. My experience with the woman at the check-in desk, and the ridiculous size of the fee--more than I paid for my ticket--have ensured that I will never fly Jetstar again."

Cons: "We flew business class and it didn't feel too much like a business class experience. Welcome drinks were a nice touch but from there the service was not very attentive, we had to ask for empty glasses and plates to be cleared after they sat with us for over an hour. The meal was not great - pretty lack luster. No priority bag tags and our bags took over an hour to come out the other end."
