Singapore restored our upgrade at the airport but only on one direction so we had to go through it all again."

Pros: "EVERYTHING was great...from check in to the entire experience on board. Extremely friendly staff to delicious food and a great choice of beverages! Clean and tidy aircraft with lots of extra amenities. Pleasant flight, pleasant arrival. Always a great way to travel!"
Cons: ""Customs" at JFK came to an entire halt. All passengers where stuck in the welcome hall for 1h, without any information, why held there and why nothing was moving forward. All CBP booths were closed, but 8 (eight!) employees, who normally direct arriving passengers to the kiosk-machines where hanging out in two groups sharing private stories and having laughs instead of at least informing passengers, what was going on. Lots of passengers where outraged...a couple in their mid 70s in front of us had to sit down on the floor, since they had circulation problems from standing in line so long. Sadly, JFK isn't what it used to be anymore."

Cons: "Our flight to Bali was cancelled due to the volcano eruption. We did not receive any compensation, but Singapore/Silk Airlines told us they were able to get us a flight home to LAX instead, but that it wouldn't be until the next day. We spent money on a hotel and food and waited until the next morning, got to the airport early for check in only to find that Singapore/Silk had in fact, given up our seats that they had promised us. They said that we now would have to wait another day just to get a flight from Singapore to LAX. We asked to speak with a manager, and eventually were able to get two seats due to cancellations. This was intended to be a very special and romantic trip that was essentially ruined. Since no one could have anticipated that the volcano would cause cancellation, we should be refunded for our flights. We are so crushed that we did not get to go to Bali, and now we may NEVER get to go because we are out of money. At the VERY least, the leg of our flights from Singapore to Bali, and Bali to Singapore, should be refunded. We are extremely disappointed."

In Hong kong, I was told the designated smoking area in the terminal was close and the steward encouraged me to go...I almost missed the flight even though I didn't even make it to where she directed me. It was not close, she was a liar. They lost my bags. They kept calling me sir despite my corrections and obvious female anatomy. They had no remorse or apologies for their errors"

Yesterday, I got home 1.5hrs later than I should have. I have also to pay for additional surcharge due to midnight cab fare. Further, when I wsa travelling to Jakarta - none of the inflight entertainment was working. So it has been disappointing."

The attendants seemed to come around more often and there was a much better food selection for everyone involved. Overall, I found the flight to be safe, mostly comfortable, and the food was excellent."
Cons: "I had a family sitting next to me (I was in the aisle) and I felt that while the attendants were courteous and prompt in accommodating me, they all but ignored the people in the middle seats. I had to keep asking them on the attendant's behalf if they needed anything before they rushed on by. At one point the father told me that he was getting better service from me than the attendants. Also, one of the TV screens didn't work in one of the middle seats so the family had to do a switcharoo with their little one after they got settled so their son could have the working screen. I personally found that it was very difficult to recline my seat - I really had to quite literally put my back into it to get it to click into the reclining position."

Blankets and pillows were supplied as standard and plenty of complimentary food. There was a genuine sense that the on board attendants wanted you to be as comfortable as possible."

I was told this as the flight was boarding, so I had to spend $$ on a last minute flight in a panic to anywhere - that I couldn't get a refund for just so I could board the plane."

Our flight was delayed because they couldn't board everyone in time. Premium economy is pretty good- seats are large. Economy is a zoo. Don't think I'll be travelling with China Airlines again soon."

My children didn't liked the food at all, as there was no fish or egg or veg meals, only pork at breakfast. I had two young kids with me, but were treated as regular passengers and we lined up for long time for boarding and kids got very tired. At washrooms there was no soap, tissue or towel papers."

Pros: "I liked the wide selection of entertainment on the personal televisions on the plane. The reclining of the seats were not bad. The stewardesses and stewards were very friendly and attentive and I felt that the really cared about my experience. Everything was very clean and new."

Additionally the plane was delayed. I felt cramped in my seat and I am five foot three inches and very petite so that's saying something."

Cons: "Carry on luggage weighed 9 Kg and they told me I had to remove some things. Suitcase was standard carry-on size, fit well into the display frame. I had plenty of room in the two checked in bags but they had already been processed and moved out on the conveyer belt. Never heard of such as small allowance for carry-on luggage, at least on Delta, United and the other airlines I generally fly. Cons: "Boarding was bad. Not done by zones. Everything is willy-nilly at boarding in Taiwan. First to board were families with small children (even before first class). Fine, except: There were several families with small children lined up at first. The gate agent was about to board them, then she stopped and went out into the gate's seating area and started grabbing families with teenagers (only) to board with the families with small children. Seriously, she went and got several families that had teens (no kids in the fam under age 10) only, and lined them up behind the fams with smaller kids. What an interesting look on the faces of the first-class passengers waiting in a separate line to board. After boarding the new category of "All Families", first class boarded. Then the masses. Once again, zones were not utilized by gate agents, and we all boarded at the same time, ignoring the zones (front/middle/rear). Once in my seat I could not find a charging outlet, nor a USB outlet. And wifi? I asked the F/A. Her response: "We don't have. Sorry. Its 1 hour 50 minute flight. You are OK." Really! No, sweet woman, YOU will be OK, working. I will have to waste 2 hours not getting something productive done. Entertainment unit on seatback: Waste of time. Even if it worked, the sound requires the old twin-male plugin jack on the armrest. Nobody has one of those in his pocket, and the F/A's never passed any out. I can hear it now, had I asked for one: "1 hour and 50 minute flight. You are OK.""

Pros: "The Pilot, very respectful, apologizing about the delays, but we still made it on time, much earlier than I expected."
Cons: "Rush, you cannot do this to everybody. Fisrt priority are their kids, before they settle down, they want their kids to be settle and possibly comfortable, remember, it's a long flight."

Pros: "Love the leg room and hot ladies of China airlines.i enjoyed the flight entertainment, watched newly released movies. Oh and did I mention their stewardes were hot?"

Pros: "Business class from Bangkok to San Francisco was good overall, especially for $1400 one way. Food was not very good for business class, was more in line with JAL, EVA, Korean or ANA econo class but again, for the price, no complaints. Great friendly service, quick boarding. Priority Pass didn't have a lounge in Manila but thankfully, Philippines Air had their own lounge with great food and drinks for 1st Class and Business class ticket holders. Plane from BKK to Manila was NICE and comfy, all latest technology with beautiful fully adjustable chairs that lay flat. Would fly with them again!"

Cons: "Flight delayed for 5 hours - Connection from Manila was going to be very close. Flight attendant assured me multiple times they would hold the connecting plane, and give us an escort off the plane to make it to the other gate as fast as possible. We arrive in Manila, and there is no special escort. They take us at a regular pace to a connections desk in the terminal. They delayed helping us so we missed the only other flight leaving that night for Bali. While the person at the transfer desk was supposed to be helping us get new connecting flights, they would stop helping us, and take care of other people that showed up at the desk. It took them 1 1/2 hours to rebook our flight. They tried to put us on a flight that took over 20 hours with connections for a direct flight we had missed that would take about 4 hours of flying. We had to get on Kayak.com ourselves to find a better connecting flight that left the next morning. After 1 1/2 hours, the attendant finally put on a flight that was similar to the one we found but slightly worse. They said they could not work with certain airlines leaving from Manila, which I did not understand. Then, they proceed to tell us to go wait in the terminal overnight for the flight leaving the next day. We had to directly ask them to give us a hotel room for the night, which they did upon our request, but were not going to offer it without us asking for it. I understand delays and missed flights are part of air travel. But we were routinely lied to, ignored, and flat out pushed aside during the rebooking process. It was a completely unacceptable way to treat a customer. Never fly Philippine Airlines if you can avoid it."
