Everything went solid and was on time. No issues at all
Pros: "Crew was nice and friendly. Economy class seats are never super comfy, however, they were just fine."
Pros: "Crew did their best, but that wasn't great."
Cons: "We pre ordered vegetarian meals for my vegetarian daughter, and the flight attendant went out of her way to mention that there was nothing ordered. Original direct flight from LAX to Sydney was delayed by almost 12 hours for "maintenance", so we were rerouted via SFO and Brisbane. 15 hours took 24"
Pros: "Snacks and the drinks are good. Boarding are pretty smooth."
Cons: "Dinner and breakfast are not too good. We waited for long period of time for the luggages."
Cons: "Seat backs recline violently and require help from behind to put upright. Cabin crew was less than interested in passenger service . Seat space was less than proper."
Cons: "An old plane for a long haul to Australia, uncomfortable seats, freezing temperature in the cabin, mediocre food. Not what a traveler expects in business class in today’s travel world."
Cons: "ruin my seat arrangement for no reason! We were traveling as a family of 7 (2 grandparents from each side, my husband, my 4 year son and myself). We paid $30 per person per seat so that we could sit together and watch out for each other because some of the grandparents are in their 80's. However, when we checked in, we found out all our seats were re-arranged and in the worst possible way! Our 4 year old child was assigned in middle seat no where near my husband or myself. In addition, the family was divided in half, separated by the service station. I had switched seat so I can sit with my son but my husband had to sit at the other side of the service station to take care of the other half of the family because they do not speak English. I was left to attend to my 4 year old son by myself, which was hard to do. what bothers me the most is that there seem to be no obvious reason for them to re-arranged seats in such a devastating manner - it was not a full flight at all. I saw quite a few empty seats in the back. We spoke to the woman who was the head of the stewardess about the problem upon boarding, she said she would try to see what she could do, but she never got back to us at all. The seats were horrible seats for a few reason. First, there were a lot of traffic and noise from crew and other passengers because they were next to the Service station. Second, we were always the last one to receive food service because of the location. This is a problem when you have 4 year old and 80 years old who were diabetics."
Cons: "Couldn't get on the flight, thanks to the airline counter person."
Cons: "This airport is disorganised and undersized for the volume of patrons passing through. Was frustrated with the poor response of Sydney airport go manage an obvious failure of their baggage handling system. No fallback procedure was activated(manual for eg) to actually progress baggsge hangling even for those with connections to make. Disappointed and embarrassed by the defensive attitudes of staff who were given no Support by mgt of either airport or airline."
Cons: "Boarding is a gong show. Not very clear signage for premium line so there’s always a ton of people jamming up the queue"
Pros: "At the check-in counter, Alieta was extremely helpful and went out of her way to assist me with a mistake on my travel visa. The flight attendant crew was superb, attentive, and friendly."
Pros: "Crew was friendly!"
Cons: "Seats not too comfortable but okay. Crew checking the boarding pass if you are already on board is a nuisance!"
Cons: "Flight was 90 minutes delayed for "maintenance requirements" (the inbound flight arrived late as well), and my one checked bag was not loaded."
Pros: "Crew was friendly and helpful"
Cons: "Food wasn’t the best... no water bottles provided... chronically thirsty on that flight."
Pros: "The crew was amazing and the seat arrangement was well done."
Cons: "I would have liked knowing the seat I upgraded to had solid unmoveable arm rests. Also the exit rows were not boarded first, and since I had no seats in front of me my items were not close at hand bc the overhead storage was already taken."
Pros: "The crew was beyond amazing. Can’t say enough good things about the crew from the ticket agents to the flight attendants. Super helpful and friendly. The nearly 15 hour flight was surprisingly comfortable even in our economy seats."
Cons: "The boarding process was kind of a nightmare. But this was not really the fault of the airline. LAX is just that way."
Cons: "Horrible service. Flight cancelled. Delayed by 30h. Will never travel Virgin Australia again"
Pros: "Flight was on time, no charge for checked baggage, a sandwich and juice were served, and it was all for the price of a budget carrier."
Cons: "In flight entertainment system was not working. Then again, who expected an in-flight entertainment system at this price point?!"
Pros: "First time flying Virgin Australia - good service, good grub, poor wine."
Pros: "service was great."
Cons: "problem with foot rest falling to ground under weight of legs/feet"
Pros: "Much better than any airline in the states."
Cons: "A few more trash pickups from the crew. I had a few times I was left holding trash."
Pros: "The crew in the Melbourne airport were amazing! There was confusion with my bags and they sorted it out without any stress!"
Cons: "The seats weren’t very comfortable but it was a very clean plane!"
Pros: "Everything went well and was as advertised. This is a low cost carrier so their business model relies on extra charges for everything. Prepaid my luggage for $19 each way and decided not to order any food (much cheaper at the airport anyway). People just have to be aware that low cost carriers like Jetstar can offer such affordable fares by excluding many things. Qantas would have been approximately 2x as expensive per flight and would have included more things, but the appeal of low cost is to be able to choose what you need."
Pros: "Nothing in the service that would warrant any positive discussion"
Cons: "Upon attempting to checkin online, Jetstar indicated that checkin had to be undertaken at the Queenstown airport. No prompt was provided to indicate that baggage registration and payment would have to be handled via the general website, in spite of being denied the ability to checkin online. To our surprise, we faced a $75/bag checkin fee at the airport, being told registration of baggage at the airport would face a premium fee. Unfair or what...?"
Pros: "I had a very good experience. When you fly with Jetstar, you need to be aware of a few things: it is a no frills airline. Therefore, (1) you need to eat before you board, bring your own food, or pay for any food / drink on the flight, (2) you have virtually no luggage allowance. Make sure you call them and pay for your luggage BEFORE you go to the airport. The pre-pay prices are very reasonable, but they are dramatically more if you wait to add luggage until arrival at the airport. Overall, the personnel were very friendly, and it was a good flight...just make sure that you are aware of what I just mentioned."
Cons: "Paid $30 upfront for a 15kg checked bag, was told at counter I could carry on, but unable to refund money. At the gate, was told it was over the 7kg carry on max (was 9.2kg) and required to check... for an additional $60. The $30 I paid previously would not be applied. Complete scam. Friend I was traveling with also paid for a 15kg checked bag upfront, but was only charged $21. I was also concerned about checking as I needed to transfer terminals from domestic to international with a tight connection and since the plane was delayed, had even less time to grab bag, catch train and go thru customs. No consistency. No customer service."
Cons: "This is a review of a different flight I took as titled. I tried to write with a previous link but it did not work. During the flight, I went to the washroom and as I was there, the seatbelt light went on. As I was trying to hurry up to finish, the flight attendant started banging on the door telling me I needed to get back to my seat. I replied I was coming (twice) but she kept banging on the door and yelling that I needed to go back now. This happened about 4 times in 30 seconds. I was moving as quickly as I could. She then proceeded to unlock the door - which I then immediately re-locked. And I replied with that I was moving as quick as I could. She then unlocked it again and opened the door about two inches (while I was still on the toilet) and told me I needed to get to my seat. I said yes I’m coming and pulled the door back. There was some turbulence which is why the seatbelt light was lit - however I have never been on an airline that was so abrasive and aggressive like that. I have never been interrupted on the toilet like that when the seatbelt light has gone on. There is a reason the light is also in the washrooms so that customers know the pilots request. I am still so stunned with that response. After the flight had landed, I asked another flight attendant on the same flight about the airline policies in that situation. She said she was surprised that another flight attendant had opened the door on me and I should talk to the manager on flight. When I went to speak to the manager in hopes of her correcting the behaviour of a flight attendant that may not be using best practices, I was informed it it was actually her (Crystal) that had been trying to get me to go to my seat. She was immediately defensive and stood strong in her belief that she needed me to know that I needed to get to my seat right away and she could not hear my response. She said it was a safety concern and wanted to make sure I wasn’t unconscious in the washroom. I pointed out she would have known I was conscious because I had relocked the door after she unlocked it . She came up with another possibility “maybe you were Asian and couldn’t understand English”. I started the conversation calmly and felt she was very defensive from the start. She did verbally apologize, however it was forced, insincere and followed by why she was “in the right”. I don’t know if the above is inline with Jetstars policies however it’s opposite everything I have experienced on any other airline. I told Crystal she made me feel humiliated and that the experience was mortifying and she dismissed that and said it was a safety concern. I hope that this isn’t a jet star policy and that staff can be told how to deal with a situation such as the above. If it is in line with what Jetstar wants their staff to do I will definitely never be flying Jetstar again and advising my friends and family to do the same. Danica Spencer Dec 09 2017 - JQ201 Flight from Sydney to Auckland"
Cons: "Had to pay $75 for checked baggage, no complimentary drinks or snacks, had to give credit card number multiple times to pay for baggage"
Pros: "The service was terrible. The entire experience was really incredibly disappointing. I will never book Jetstar again."
Cons: "They charged me the price of my ticket because my carry on weighed too much. The staff was very rude!"
Pros: "Nice customer service at check-in to help with our bags."
Cons: "Was not well-informed about the excessive baggage fees at the time of purchase. You have to pay for everything on the flight - food, drinks, entertainment."
