There were a quite a few passengers booked on the connecting flight but Qantas made no attempt to get us on board it and instead re-booked us for the next flight which was scheduled for 2.5 hours later but, in fact, left nearly 3.5 hours later. Breakfast consisted of rubber egg."

While booking the tickets mine and my wife’s full details such as the Name, Nationality and Passport were given. In spite of this nowhere was it mentioned in the Quantas terms and conditions or any prompt/popup given while booking the tickets that Australian transit visa is required for Indians since the flight is via Australian city. I had booked the tickets well in advance and had enough time to get transit visa had there been any information about it mentioned. On 1st December 2016 when we went to the Changi airport we were not allowed to board the plane as we did not have the Australian transit visa. We were told by Quantas personnel at the airport to go to the Australian embassy in Singapore to get the transit visa and that we would get it within a day. Next day we went to the embassy and found that the Australian visa is done by VFS global at a different address. When went there they informed us that Australian visa takes minimum 5 days. I had all my hotel bookings in New Zealand already done hence I had no choice to take a direct Singapore Auckland flight via Singapore Airlines at a very high price on the next day. I also lost one day of my hotel booking in Auckland and had to forfeit the money. I and my wife had to go through the psychological trauma of being refused to board the plane, then the next day running around the Australian embassy / VFS global office for trying to get the Australian transit visa and facing the uncertainty regarding our new Zealand trip which was planned well in advance for our 25th wedding anniversary"

Onboatd wifi via the app worked well and was actually able to use inflight entertainment on hand held device online the Sydney to Melbourne leg"

Abu Dhabi made all Sydney passengers go through security including full cabin luggage checks twice. Abu Dhabi made me check in the duty free that I bought in Dublin. It was a connecting flight so why on earth was that something I had to do. I could not check in online, choose seats or update preferences. They sat my daughter separately and I was fobbed off in each airport and until Abu Dhabi where the cabin manager took so long I had to ask another passenger to swap. My son was sick as he walked off the ramp and I had to stand and direct people around the vomit for over 10 minutes while staff dragged their feet getting help. I will never fly Virgin with etihad again."

Cons: "The boarding had not started at the time due 22:25, I went to the rest room and on return the gate was closed for boarding. Staff advised they had commenced removing my luggage from the plane. The plane was still there but they would not let me board.! There was no call or final call or even a personal call with my name., staff said they were not required to do that. Then after pleading with no result, I requested my baggage. Staff sent me to baggage claim 2. There was no baggage, and by that time no Virgin Australia staff in the airport until 3pm the following day. I was stuck in a foreign airport, no luggage, no assistance at all from Virgin Australia to get my luggage, find accommodation, rebook a flight which resultingly cost US$900. I was distraught, the plane was still there and my luggage had not yet been removed and they refused me to board the flight!! The Virgin guy in charge was obnoxious and could not have cared less about my welfare, he personally accused me of swearing and I calmly reminded him I had not once used derogitorive language, that language was from another customer who was also refused to board. I question W that the flight was overbooked? This is not the airline Sir Richard Branson whom I have briefly met in Cairns airport promotes. Pitiful service.!!"

Take off and landings were so gentle which is something I fear, but they have inspired me to "take-off" and enjoy my life."

Cons: "This is a review of a different flight I took as titled. I tried to write with a previous link but it did not work. During the flight, I went to the washroom and as I was there, the seatbelt light went on. As I was trying to hurry up to finish, the flight attendant started banging on the door telling me I needed to get back to my seat. I replied I was coming (twice) but she kept banging on the door and yelling that I needed to go back now. This happened about 4 times in 30 seconds. I was moving as quickly as I could. She then proceeded to unlock the door - which I then immediately re-locked. And I replied with that I was moving as quick as I could. She then unlocked it again and opened the door about two inches (while I was still on the toilet) and told me I needed to get to my seat. I said yes I’m coming and pulled the door back. There was some turbulence which is why the seatbelt light was lit - however I have never been on an airline that was so abrasive and aggressive like that. I have never been interrupted on the toilet like that when the seatbelt light has gone on. There is a reason the light is also in the washrooms so that customers know the pilots request. I am still so stunned with that response. After the flight had landed, I asked another flight attendant on the same flight about the airline policies in that situation. She said she was surprised that another flight attendant had opened the door on me and I should talk to the manager on flight. When I went to speak to the manager in hopes of her correcting the behaviour of a flight attendant that may not be using best practices, I was informed it it was actually her (Crystal) that had been trying to get me to go to my seat. She was immediately defensive and stood strong in her belief that she needed me to know that I needed to get to my seat right away and she could not hear my response. She said it was a safety concern and wanted to make sure I wasn’t unconscious in the washroom. I pointed out she would have known I was conscious because I had relocked the door after she unlocked it . She came up with another possibility “maybe you were Asian and couldn’t understand English”. I started the conversation calmly and felt she was very defensive from the start. She did verbally apologize, however it was forced, insincere and followed by why she was “in the right”. I don’t know if the above is inline with Jetstars policies however it’s opposite everything I have experienced on any other airline. I told Crystal she made me feel humiliated and that the experience was mortifying and she dismissed that and said it was a safety concern. I hope that this isn’t a jet star policy and that staff can be told how to deal with a situation such as the above. If it is in line with what Jetstar wants their staff to do I will definitely never be flying Jetstar again and advising my friends and family to do the same. Pros: "Jetstar is a comparatively budget airline owned by Qantas. We were in Business class from Honolulu to Sydney and that's a well timed flight considering it takes a little over 10 hours, leaving Honolulu at 8:30am and arriving in Sydney at 3:00pm. We normally fly Qantas business for international flights but in this case it's almost double the cost. Jetstar Business doesn't have lie flat beds, it provides wide and comfortable seats and they don't recline very far, but as this particular flight is completely in daylight hours it doesn't matter too much. We will always choose this particular flight because of the combination of timing and cost, so well done Jetstar."

Then outbound flight was cancelled at the last minute. Waiting for a refund........and waiting. If it's a choice between jet star or swimming to your next destination, swim."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled at the last minute. Jetstar doesn't have a customer service line you can call so it was very difficult to re-book. The chat was clunky and not compatable with mobile phone. Then they couldn't refund the extra fees I had paid for assigned seats - that is a "different chat site" though I was reassigned a Quantas ticket and given tickets that had us split up on that flight. They couldn't give me a booking number or anything like that for the Quantas flight either. I will just save the hassle and fly with Quantas next time. Unimpressed with JetStar and their customer service was terrible. Still out the refund money and frankly it is worth it not to have to deal with them again."
Cons: "Had a misunderstanding with a visa waiver for my girlfriend who's is English. The particular hostess that brought it to our attention was quite dull and sour with the whole situation. After about 15 minutes of basically saying she couldn't board the flight, another jet star person came over and quickly ingot Ed us that we could purchase a visa waiver on the spot for 750 baht. Problem solved and his mannerism were far more bright and cheerful. A smile goes a long way"
Pros: "it was on time..."
Cons: "charging for entertainment...no blankets for an overnight 6hour long flight... customer service is just the worse I've seen on an airline. Don't get me started on the baggage allowance surcharges... Still found one very friendly staff at the Sydney Airport though, there is still hope. Get on it Jetstar, get on it."

Pros: "On checking in, they charged us a penalty fee, and then our flight got cancelled at the last minute without any options to get back to the city in time for work. Had to book a last minute flight with a different airline and couldn't get luggage back in time to take it along!"

No complimentary drinks, must pay top price for coffee, water, juice. Airline coffee in paper cup. Credit card or debit only. Toilet use might be free... did not ch check."
Cons: "I obviously purchased my tickets too fast. I missed the hidden check-in option online which is a UX recommendation I have for Jetstar, to make this more visible (particularly on international flight selection). This was my fault, but being charged $160 at the airport to check a 9kg bag in made me feel I was being ripped off and left a sour taste in my mouth towards the Jetstar brand. I'll never fly with them again. Even movies and water needed to be purchased on the flight."

Cons: "The flight was late. The airline had no problem charging us for every little thing, and I had to pay extra just because my bag was 1kg over the weight limit. The snacks were overpriced and the menu was very limited."
Cons: "plane was half hour late leaving because JetStar does not allow enough time for turn arounds from plane arriving from elsewhere. That said, the pilot did do his best to catch up for lost time once in the air."
