Lost my original seats, had to sit separate from my companion, and no real concern by Virgin about their impact on customers' plans. Last time I flew, the plane was cancelled, and we had to wait hours for another one in the terminal, so I missed the body corporate meeting that was the ONLY reason I was flying to Brisbane, paying for overnight accommodation and car rental and flight and I MISSED it. Huge cost for NOTHING, as despite driving straight to the meeting, it was just finishing. Whilst at the airport trying to fly home, I heard another Virgin flight cancelled , again due to "unscheduled maintenance". Seems that maintenance and mechanical problems are common and way more common than they should be. So that is a big worry!"

I should have booked Qantas instead of Virgin."

Cons: "After mechanical issue on Delta flight resulted in arriving after the LAX -> BNE deparature, Delta was unable to rebook me on an earlier flight since it "was with Virgin Australia" and after a 6-hour wait for gate agents to show up, Virgin Australia refused to rebook me on an earlier flight resulting in a 24-hour delay arriving at my destination when I needed to be at my destination at least 22-hours later than scheduled and options existing for 16 to 18 hours on Air New Zealand (which is also a code-share with Virgin Australia). Also, gate attendant at LAX told me that despite just transitioning through BNE, I would need to exit the international terminal and go to the domestic terminal to claim my boarding ticket. This was incorrect and would have resulted in long delays. Luckily, the gate attendant in the international terminal did have my boarding ticket. Until things change, I will not be doing any trans-pacific travel with either Virgin Australia or Delta. Other airlines (Air New Zealand, American, United, Southwest, and Frontier have all fixed issues to the best of their abilities) and will be higher on my list. Qantas is highest on my list since they have never screwed up and their seats are comfy for long-haul flights."

It was something like this : Attention Attention please pull on your oxygen mask when it drops and place it firmly over your mouth and breathe calmly. I was shocked and everyone that I could see looked shocked. Then nothing. It was the announcement that you never want to hear when on an aeroplane. About 5-10 minutes later another announcement that it was an error and a wrong button had been pushed. It certainly was the wrong button to push."

Signs misleading. Staff not friendly. Just want money."

Cons: "Our flight was canceled due to Cyclone Debbie. We requested a refund as we had already made other travel arrangements but were refused and told that we will receive a voucher. Since we live in the US a voucher is worthless to us. The right thing for JetStar to do is refund our airfare and luggage fees."

When we checked in my wife's purse and my laptop in bag were all added as additional weight. So we were forced to pay additional excess weight charges of $50."

They were selling raffle tickets for a car, they were selling snacks, they were asking for donations to a charity. The constant intercom communications were very frustrating. There is also a hidden $50 fee per checked bag with a limit of 15Kg. After that there is a charge for every kilogram over 15. We ended up paying $220 in baggage fees. It would have been cheaper to buy two more seats and buckle our luggage in."

Being a seasoned traveller, $50.00 per bag for check in bag, amount to 2/3 of your ticket price, is the highest I have ever seen in airlines!!! Truely, they attract you with a lower price than Virgin Atlantic, but they cut your throat with the carry-on and coffee and water! And they cancelled my return flight! And I am forced to take a flight time, that does not suit my itinerary! NEVER fly jetstar again!!! I feel I am taken!"

They said it was weight, and that our packs were too large for carry-on. (Frankly, upon reading all the other comments here, I am beginning to think this is a scam, and they need to be called on it.) As we paid an extra $320, plus the airline was late, I asked if we might at least get a $10 meal voucher. Answer? No. The airline has to be 4 hours late. -asked for a pillow and blanket for the approximately 10-hr night flight. Answer: "No pillows, and you had to book a blanket in advance." I am outraged."

They did not check everyone only some. We were among the unfortunates that got checked. We were slightly over there a maximum and had to check two carry-ons. Another $25 each. everything about the airline seems cheap. The seats do not even have a little pocket in front of you to put things like glasses or books. They must've saved $1.50 on each seat. After all the extra charges it would've been cheaper to book with her quality airline. Unfortunately we have a return flight booked and can't get our money back so I'll have to fly one more time. But never again."
