Cons: "The airport closure wasn't PALs fault but the absolute lack of organisation and an attitude "act of God so look after yourself" is disgusting. Flying business expected some service but had nothing and they smiled and said they rebooked me 16 days later. Other airlines would book you on different carriers but not PAL. Last time no matter what special deal they offer."

Pros: "The plane itself was nice and comfortable for me. The business class seat fully laid down, and there were lots of entertainment options. The flight was quick! 15hr flight from Melbourne to LAX only took 13 hours!"
Cons: "Several of the food items were either cold or overdone. I asked hostess what the deal was (because their food service is usually great) and she explained that in this new plane (Boeing 787) they removed a lot of the working areas for the crew. They have less space to work in order to be able to prepare food and drinks compared to Qantas's other planes (Airbus A380). This is also a brand new plane for this crew (literally the first flight for some for some of them), and they didn't know where some of the things on the plane were. I imagine after they've used the plane for a while and learn where everything is, they'll get better. I'll find out on the return flight back to Melbourne."
Pros: "Fantastic cabin crew and fantastic maître’d in the first class lounge at Melb International airport. Honestly the best service we have ever received from start to finish from Qantas. Thank youalso the vegetarian and vegan meals were great unlike previous years. Thanks again"

Cons: "My husband and I are seniors, luckily we exercise daily, because we were told to take the stairs down to the airplane and had to walk to the plane in the rain and then walk up the stairs to the plane. When we boarded we actually should have gone through the plane as our seats were closer to the front. The stewardess should have used common sense and directed everyone through the plane, there was absolutely no reason to send people through the rain."

Cons: "You have to pay for EVERYTHING, including entertainment. You may think you have found a great deal, but look at the extras before you purchase. This is the mistake I made. I didn't have a meal because their website was not working for me to pre-order. When I mentioned this to them through chat, they said they have food available for purchase in flight. When I was ready to purchase (the second time they were walking the isles) they said they have no food left and offered me cheese and crackers, to which they then asked me to pay for! So on our 11 hour flight we had 4 crackers and some cheese. Before boarding the plane we were told we were only allowed 1 carry-on and 1 personal item. We left some luggage behind thinking we would not be allowed to take it on our flight. Upon boarding, we saw that the row behind us had large amounts of carry-on forcing our entire row to stow out luggage 4 rows away. I'll never be flying with jet star again."
Cons: "Ended up on a Jetstar flight on a codeshare arrangement with our booked airline Qantas. The journey didn’t start well when our bags would not scan through the self serve checkin as we had not booked direct with Jetstar. We then asked for an aisle seat, but this was refused - the “customer service” assistant advised we should have paid extra to pre-reserve a seat (a no cost option on Qantas). Then when we entered the plane we found that both adjacent aisle seats were in fact vacant. Food was an additional cost item - on an 8 hour flight. Those unlucky enough to ask for a meal late found that there was nothing left for them. Entertainment was also an additional cost item - when paid for the selection was extremely limited, the system slow. The entertainment froze up requiring a reboot. Though not the airline’s fault, the person behind was very fidgety, making it very uncomfortable for anyone sitting in front of him. If the seats were slightly further apart we might not have had that experience either. All in all not the best, given that we had booked with a full price airline and ended up on a budget airline instead."

Cons: "I didn't check in my bag, didn't bother to weigh it. They weighed it at boarding and it was too heavy (my bad, I probably should have checked) and had to be checked in. My gripe is that they made me pay $60 even though my ticket included a free piece of luggage. Their argument was that I didn't use that facility at check-in and therefore waived the right to that piece of check baggage."

Jetstar cheeses have animal rennet - not necessary in this day and age. Toastie could be cheese and tomato, not only with bacon.. I complained to Jetstar head office, and the response was inadequate. Proof is if they make an effort and change. If another airlines is similar price with better food, I would automatically go with the other carrier. It's all part of hospitality. Jetstar are stubborn. Irrespective of being a low cost airlines - no excuse."
