Cons: "Tickets were in the wrong name and the company that issued them refused to fix the problem. I ended up buying a second ticket directly from the airlines."
Cons: "The attendants were very pleasant and efficient. I will certainly prefer to fly JAL, especially if you could offer the lower rates. On the down side, it was very difficult to contact their customer service line. However their online help desk was very responsive."
Pros: "Japan Airlines hasn’t the best customer service of any airline I have ever flown. Flight attendants aren’t very friendly and they give you a lot of food. The entertainment was great as well."

Pros: "Comfortable big seats. Great service by crew members. Clean and like new cabin."

Pros: "The seating on this plane was super spacious and comfortable- leg and seats. Also the seatbelt gave real room. The plane was cleaned; crew friendly, food delicious- featuring semi- famous chefs and well ventilated."
Cons: "Flights should enter from back to front that way you're not waking over people to get your seat.-"
Pros: "Excellent service - delicious meals"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable for economy, but that's about it. Unfortunately, everything else ranged between mediocre and okay. For non stop to Japan, I'd rather fly ANA."
Cons: "The whole entire class system that they are beholden to as if we're still living in feudal Japan. Swiss & Lufthansa serves more meals and at higher quality than JAL. The drinks were also blah. JAL focuses more on their Business Class and First Class Passengers. Even their luggage comes in first."
Pros: "So much food, great leg room, very comfortable and clean, kind and attentive staff"
Pros: "The high level of service and attentiveness"
Pros: "I really loved the food they served on the airline, along with the entertainment and the stuardesses. It made for a very enjoyable trip."

Pros: "Efficient and friendly service. Second time flying them, and will continue to fly JAL."
Pros: "Very comfortable plane, even full. Polite crew."
Pros: "the staff"
Pros: "The food on this flight was horrible. Big disappointment. Usually, the food on Japan Airlines is wonderful. However, on this flight, the food was a crab/mayo sandwich with yogurt. However, the service was wonderful, as always."
Pros: "Each seat had their own screens, and there was a small footrest available for each seat."
Cons: "The food was uncharacteristically bad for JAL. They served some sort of French chef's dish that was terrible. Normally, JAL has great food that I love to eat. The plane was also pretty old so it felt more cramped than usual, and the seats we uncomfortable."
Pros: "All were very polite and were very through when checking the cabin before departure and landing"
Pros: "The majority of the crew had facials that made me feel like I shouldn't talk to them. The food wasn't the best but that was expected. There was movies and shows that kept me entertained for a while. Seats are normal couldn't walk or get up often because of turbulence."
Pros: "super comfortable seats, great food, huge monitor, non stop service for the 13 hours plus JFK-hnd new flight"

Cons: "Transit in NRT was too short! Didn't give me time to buy souvenirs.."
Pros: "Very attentive and polite staff. Was given a free upgrade as well, very much appreciated."
Pros: "I felt well taken care of the whole time. When checking my bag, the attendant saw that I have a middle seat, and got me an exit row window, which allowed me to sleep. They accommodated a last-minute request for vegetarian meals. The flight felt like it took about half the time it actually did."
Cons: "I couldn't check in online without a JAL account."
Pros: "Good food and punctuality"
Cons: "No English subtitles for English speaking movies"
Pros: "the crews were very professional and caring. the food was the best of all so far"
Cons: "the only thing was this flight was delayed and we missed the flight at LAX, but JAL reserved a hotel room near by for us so that we were able to refresh ourselves and relax till the next flight. thank you JAL!"
Pros: "I didn't die"
Cons: "Plane was a bit old, headphone jack barely worked and the screen was scratched to hell"
Pros: "The ground crew in HKG airport was really helpful."
Cons: "I have been flying JAL from HK to Boston numerous times and by far my favourite (over Cathay and don't even need to mention United). However this past trip gave me a new perspective. Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."
Pros: "Good flight! Confirtable seats, polite crew."
Pros: "The aircraft was a new 787 and very comfortable. Uneventful flight."
Cons: "Menu in business class."
Pros: "The boarding was efficient. Cabin and lavatories were clean."
Cons: "The interior seems dated, with old-school channel based entertainment system, unlike the ondemand IFE most Asian airlines are equipped with. Meal service was also very slow - took over 50 minutes to serve the economy cabin. There was no choice of main available.. Main was an array of fish cakes type street snacks. It was edible but not impressive."
Pros: "The crew, the meals, the on time departure and arrival . Philippine Airlines got my attention . I was in BC, and their lounge was awesome and so was the service on board. And the flight attendants as well! A five star airline, thank you !!!"
Cons: "Everything was great!"
Cons: "Many changes and mistakes"
Cons: "The transfer in Manila was like nowhere else. After the security check we were sent outside where buses were driving to claim our checked-in luggage to take it for another check just to drop it one minute later. Anywhere in the world if you board a flight with a stop-over you see your luggage at the final destination, not the case if you fly trough Manila."
Pros: "Free space"
Pros: "The leg rest in premium economy should have been longer & seat should have been wider"
Cons: "See above note"
Pros: "You ripped me off"
Cons: "you ripped me off"

Cons: "The ride..."
Pros: "Good crew"
Cons: "Food was terrible ride was bumpy and no entertainment was provided"
Pros: "Amazing crew at Philippine Airlines"
Cons: "Boarding was a pain"

Pros: "Good in flight entertainment, low cost, service okay"
Cons: "Bad service in terms of understanding things."
Cons: "food, comfort"
Pros: "Ground staff and flight attendants service"
Cons: "Install seatback IFE or at least provide WiFi to access streaming content/movies/music/e-zines"
Pros: "not any games to play on the behind seat screen, it helps to pass the time..."
Cons: "The food was just ok,,,,could have been better.."
Cons: "I don’t recommend to fly with philippine airlines It will really mess up your schedule. They keep changing and changing their flight schedule Very disappointed."
Pros: "crew was great/ airline was clean"
Cons: "the flight from manila to jfk. the security check was 3x. i justthought it was crazy"
Cons: "The terminal for Phillipine airlines is greatly lacking. There are hardly any amenities and unless you get there before 0900 the next connecting flight is not until 2300. There need to be improvements on at least one for us to ever fly this route again."
Cons: "The PAL terminal in MNL is one of the worst airports in the world. PAL's in flight service is fine. But they really need to improve their terminal if they want to keep customers"
Pros: "3 meals, drinks, pillow, blanket, toothbrush, toothpaste and sleep mask were included. Staff was friendly and kind. Would definitely fly with them again."
Pros: "The safety video shown before the flight is the best I have ever seen, highlighting so much that is amazing in the country!"
Pros: "Great crew, good food"
Cons: "No entertainment either flight or snacks to purchase."
Pros: "First let me say I am a big fan of Philippine airlines. The customer service is outstanding, I am always made to feel very comfortable and the movie selection is great. I would give them a 10/10...if it weren’t for the surprisingly below-average special meal selection....read on..."
Cons: "I have been a gluten-sensitive foodie for 7 years. I am not vegetarian. I still eat sugar, salt, spices, dairy, and fat. I have order a GF special meal for the past 3 or 4 trips I’ve flown but I always end up asking for one of the regular meals instead because the GF meals are SO awful. They are completely devoid of all salt, sauces, spices or any flavor, and are so bland that it’s like eating astronaut cardboard food. For example...the last flight I took (Manila-San Francisco), the regular meal options were a chicken sausage dish with some mashed potatoes and veggies, a wonderful colorful julienne vegetable salad, a flan pudding (GF by nature) and some bread with butter. The other option was a delicious smelling pork belly over rice (seriously some of the best pork belly I’ve ever had) and some veggies with the same sides. Everything was gluten-free except for the bread roll and looked much more colorful and fresher overall. By contrast, the GF “special” meal that I received was a plain chicken breast with no salt, steamed veggies that were overcooked and mushy to the point of colorless baby food, with no spices or sauces, a watered-down fruit salad, a rice cake with no butter and a banana instead of dessert. I was amazed at how bland and flavorless it was. Gluten-free does not mean sugar-free, low-fat, or dairy free. It simply means the absence of wheat flour. I still like sauces and spices. And I still like butter. A non-fruit dessert would have been nice. And since when does gluten-free mean flavor-free? I would have MUCH rather preferred the regular meal option with just a gluten-free rice cake substitute. Thank god they had extra regular meals for me to eat instead. Point being…if you’re not extreme celiac and just gluten-sensitive, I recommend ordering off the regular menu and just omitting the bread roll. The flavorless meal isn’t worth it!"
Pros: "Flight was relatively smooth. Take-off and landing likewise."
Cons: "The barbecue chicken supposedly from Aristocrat was served with hardly any sauce so it was dry and needless to say, disappointing..I just ate it just to fill up my stomach. I was looking for the music selections in the inflight magazine to help me choose the station but didn't see anything listed. The aisle of the Airbus 320 is quite narrow so it is difficult to pass the aisle w/out bumping into seats."
Pros: "Online checkin was easy and actual counter checkin to get boarding passes was quick. The counters were actually open about 4 hrs before the actual flight. Then, we were able to get seats next to each other with an aisle, in a row that we wanted. Departure seemed on time and arrival was about 45 minutes earlier due to a tailwind. Food was good and service was frequent. Attendants were nice and polite."
Cons: "At the gates, we were not allowed to bring water, even though this was after the security and X-ray. There was another X-ray station at the gate and the water was from the store next to the gate or from the drinking fountain. Really odd that this was required by the US govt."
Cons: "Flight delays several hours. Its a very terrible flight. No apology from airlines company too."
Pros: "Though we are 50 mins late in departure we were given announcement early"
Cons: "The food we had ( fish and rice) for the flight was enough in quntity but lack a good taste."
Pros: "Great experuance. Caring staff"
Pros: "Lots of delayed flight"
Pros: "Crew were pleasant and attentive and found was simple but OK, with a choice."
Cons: "Legroom appalling. For anyone 6ft Plus it was a struggle and uncomfortable for the 3hr flight. Holding for 25 minutes after landing until parking spot became available didn’t help."
Pros: "Liked the crew - ground and in air folks are always awesome. Pinoy food is always yummy and their J&B Whiskey is always welcoming."
Cons: "Nothing except for the price. Checked again the following week and it was $100 cheaper. Sucks but what can I do???"
Pros: "Nice staff"
Cons: "Literally every time I fly PAL there is some issue with delay. After boarding we stat on the plan for over an hour before we took off waiting for some other passengers. Also I was at the airport early and wanted to get on earlier flight they wanted to charge me $300 to get on a flight with many extra empty seats."
Pros: "Comfort and entertainment system"
Cons: "To late to board passengers,"
Pros: "Very nice crew. They were quiet efficient and very nice . Food was delivered quickly and was the usual airline quality food."
Cons: "We waited almost 30 minutes at the gate after the door closed. Then we waited on the tarmac for another 20 minutes. We taxied out and waited some more. No entertainment options to pass the time. Finally got clearance and took off."
Pros: "The service on the flight was superb."
Cons: "The Manila airport is a mess! Everyone tells you something different. No one seems to know where to send you. I've never in my life had to exit an airport on a layover to re-enter again and go through the entire check-in process from scratch. There are no signs anywhere that tell you you will have to go through security a SECOND time once you're at the gate. I'm diabetic and need to have water on me at all times. I can't get dehydrated. I had no clue I woudn't be able to take the bottles of water I PURCHASED AT THE AIRPORT!!! with me on the plane. I've never experienced that in all my years of flying. No other airline or airport has ever made you throw out the water that you purchased at the airport. So I wasted my money there. PLUS, the only vendor that had any sort of appetizing food that I could eat as a diabetic was a cash only vendor. They took USD, great, but they were using a conversion chart from May 2017 (I was flying in March 2018) so the exchange rate was in THEIR favor. And they won't give you USD in change. They give you Philippine money in change. So I get screwed on the exchange rate on BOTH sides of the transaction. Plus, what am I going to do with Philippine money when I'm only in the airport for a layover??? So I'm going to lose money again to change it back to USD once I get home. Archaic. We are living in the 21st century. This shouldn't happen. The plane was sooooo uncomfortable for a 13 hour flight. The entertainment system at my seat wasn't working so I had to be moved once we were in the air. The new seat was so worn in, there was virtually no padding underneath my saecrum (butt bone) for the 13 hours. No foot rest, either. And the temperature in the plane fluxuated the whole time between hot and cold (although mostly hot). You should take some lessons from Singapore Airlines.....so much more comfortable in ALL aspects."
Cons: "The crew ran out of meal choices for those in the back rows. Then there were no hot towels again for everyone in the back rows. There were no apologies for running out of hot towels even when it was asked about."
Pros: "Crew was fine food mediocre"
Cons: "Leg room is real tight. Hardly any space to move. Compared to other airlines the A320-200 Philippine Airlines aircraft has been packed with way too many seats. Will not fly them again."
Pros: "We booked this flight months ago and made plans to meet people. We wanted to arrive early to avoid traffic but since the flight as 3 hours delayed we arrived at 5 and did not get to the hotel that was 20 miles away in 2 hours. When I am late for my flight you cancel my ticket and make me purchase a more expensive one. More than the round trip I purchased so why don't you compensate me when your delayed"
Cons: "Your tardiness and inconsiderate way of doing business. Your irresponsible attitude towards your paying customers."
Pros: "Being on time"
Cons: "More leg room for tall people because this is a disability issue for us being crammed and cramp up"
Pros: "Left on time, super friendly staff which is rare in my other options (usa carriers), the only non stop flight without layover available to me, faster than before by an hour, food really pretty good for airline food and lots of it. Good entertainment options for no extra charge. Did not get nickel and dimed over crappy movies and a bag of peanuts like USA based airlines love to do. Will use again as usual."
Cons: "Nothing except business class is so damn expensive. I would love to try it someday."
Cons: "First flight delayed, which caused us to miss connecting flight. Second rescheduled flight was delayed, extending travel time by over 8 hours. Never again."
Pros: "This was my first time flying with PAL. I had read the reviews mostly good, some not so good but I decided to do it because I was going to meet my fiancee. Flew from LA to Manila and back. The flights took off late (which I later found out is called Filipino time LOL). The crew was AWESOME, the only problem was on the return flight I had some trouble getting a stewardess but to be fair EVERYBODY was hitting the bells to get service. The food was good and I liked the choices. I would DEFINITELY fly PAL again!!!!!"
Cons: "Lousy plane business class. Seats recline 20 degrees For entertainment. One has to download app Before flight"
Cons: "4 flights on Philippines Airlines, all 4 flights 3 plus hours late. There was not even a pretense of trying to be on time. Worst flying experience of my life, and I have been everywhere. PAL is their Acronym and the running joke is it stands for "Plane Always Late""
Pros: "The service is good. Typical Philippine airlines, friendly service."
Cons: "I don't like the iPad entertainment. I prefer seat mounted screens. The chairs are too cramped as well. Boarding was a bit slow and the waiting area was so cramped."
Cons: "It was fine."
Cons: "Departure was delayed by more than 1 hour"
Cons: "There is a lot to improve on with their food. As the main Philippine carrier, they should make adobo in the best possible and original way that returning residents will immediately feel they are "home"."
Pros: "The in flight meal was very. The cabin crew was friendly and gave good service."
Cons: "Legroom could have been better."
Cons: "Philippine Airlines airport was convoluted, no signage, no screens, horrible. Checked-in online to speed things up, but the ladies at the "Online check-in counter" was not there, and when they turned up, there were in training. Then the boarding gates/lounge. None of the restaurants accepted credit or debit cards (?). It's an international airport!?! Unbelievable. Once boarded, realised none of the seats had screens or any onboard entertainment unless you had downloaded the myPal app. It would have been handy if the check-in staff informed us of this. Then there were flight delays, with no explanation. No screens with any live updates. Nothing. Worst terminal on planet earth! Now the plane. It must be a plane bought from another airline who completed their 30 year lease of the aircraft, because it looked like from the 1980's or older. Falling apart, uncomfortable, toilets not working, dirty, run down. The air-crew were lazy and rude and were inconsistent. One would say they ran out of something, then the person next to me would ask another crew, and received what they requested (food, assistance, pens, etc). Horrible. The pilots rarely informed us of the flight updates. Just utterly horrible! I cannot believe I have to fly with them on my return leg back home :("
Pros: "I paid $7 for an exit row. I was worth it. The normal economy seats are extremely cramped."
Pros: "Crew were good. Good food."
Cons: "For some reason, the seat was very uncomfortable. Rather hard with little cushion."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by two hours"
Pros: "The crew was very attentive. The pilot landed the plane smoothly. Although had a delayed departure from KUL, we arrived in Sydney earlier than expected."
Cons: "the food could have been nicer"
Cons: "Avoid Malaysian airlines and avoid KUL airport. What a mess of a company ..."
Pros: "Because I had missed my original connecting flight, the airlines booked me at an overnight hotel and my new flight seat number was premium economy. This was fine in the end, but in the moment I practically cried."
Cons: "Again, not being delayed and having to miss my original connecting flight would have been best."
Pros: "Entertainment was good."
Cons: "Sadly one passenger in front of me talked loudly, for 7 hours straight, took an hour to sleep then talked again for the remaining 5 hours. Not airline fault"
Pros: "All went Well, no delays, good service."
Pros: "Direct flight"
Cons: "Bigger aircraft"
Pros: "Window seat was good for enjoy very wonderful outside view."
Pros: "The seat was very nice position."
Pros: "Boarding was organized"
Cons: "Vegetarian food wasn’t great"
Pros: "Smooth process all the way from check in to seating to disembarkation"
Cons: "Creaky seats in business class, below average selection of inflight movies and food that was substandard. This was a very oddly configured A330 with the seats in business way too close to each other. Every time they make an announcement you have to deselect whatever you were watching again."
Pros: "The airline better than the budget ariline"
Cons: "The agency that booked through not so cooperative and complicated"
Pros: "Amazing plane, latest technology, great customer service, clean bathrooms at all time. It was an excellent experience The seats were so comfortable as well, and the customer service on and off the plane was amazing"
Cons: "Answers together with Perth to KL. I understand from other flight individuals that MAL. Flights are always delayed."
Pros: "Nothing special"
Cons: "At least, they let me know the first delay but no further information was given to the 2nd delay. Also, neither the ground not on board staff seemed to be interested in Passagiers. Was a short flight interrupted by diverse visual ads and PRs.."
Cons: "They charged for the ticket but blocked the ticket so i had to buy mew ticket"
Pros: "Staff onboard were good"
Cons: "Many hours delay at Miri, MAS staff abandoned posts so they didn't have to deal with passengers. Apalling service"
Cons: "Concentrated orange juice? Seriously? Dated flight, seats, interior."
Pros: "The regular plane was swapped out for the A380"
Pros: "The service"
Cons: "The food"
Pros: "Liked the USB port for recharging electronic devices"
Cons: "Seats were too close together. Not very comfortable. We were in row in front of emergency exit. Seats didn't recline. We should be alerted when we select these seats that they are uncomfortable."
Pros: "Food and hospitality"
Pros: "A mediocre flight is better than an awful one? At least we *had* an entertainment unit. And there was a USB outlet so phones/ipads could remain charged throughout the flight."
Cons: "Mine was a cramped experience in an old airplane, sadly normal for the industry. Food was bad. Entertainment unit was one of those press-the-screen-and-maybe-10-seconds-later-it'll-react types. Crew wasn't very communicative about what each cart rolling down the isle was for. Not a terrible experience, just not particularly good."
Pros: "On time departure, clean aircraft, generally friendly staff/crew."
Cons: "Breakfast - woken 2 hours before landing, very sorry version of "breakfast" was at best aweful only to then have lights turned off again after service completed."
Cons: "Their app is useless. Not user friendly and always down ! Their staff can't even give proper directions on what need to be done in terms of getting upgrades ! Such a shame how it this airlines is getting from bad to worst. They use to be great and my number one choice , but now they are just a disappointment. I am only supporting MAS because they are my national carrier"
Cons: "I request for extra water but I was just given the glass which was on my tray. The Stewart told me he would come back but never did... not very nice One Air Asia, sûre you have to pay for the drink but you don't stay thirsty, and finally ticket is much cheaper..."
Pros: "the staff were pleasant"
Cons: "the food was ok as I like spicy. But one mouthful of water and a small wine. soft drink, etc was not enough on a 4 hour flight. Leg room was very bad. I am average hight 5 ft 10 inch but could only sit sideways aas not enough room"
Pros: "Good on the plane and in the business class lounge was excellent"
Cons: "No beer or wine in business class! Did not want a meal, so I got water and a tiny pack of peanuts."
Pros: "Good service and timely operation"
Pros: "Efficient and quick to load the plane and then take off."
Pros: "Whilst I realise this is an Asian airline the warm roll was very doughy & tasteless & the breakfast wasn't at all good."
Cons: "The warm roll was doughy & tasteless & the breakfast choice was not good at all. Would suggest a yoghurt & cereal option for non Asians."
Pros: "Routing convenience if you are heading to Kuala Lumpur."
Cons: "Business class service falls short of other comparable airlines. Extensive auction of business class seats packs the cabin resulting in full fare passengers not getting a service representative of the class fare. Wines offered could be better."
Pros: "Cabin crew friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Red snapper was over cooked and rubbery. MH used to have great food. What happened??? IFE system was poor although flight was only over an hour in length - not a major issue."
Pros: "The plane was decent. The offering on the IFE was a good mix. Food was ok"
Cons: "The IFE froze. I alerted the crew but it took them nearly 1.5 hours to do a reset of the system. I barely managed to watch a movie and only managed that due to the fact that I had my own earphones. They collect their headsets way too early."
Pros: "The korean spicy chicken was delicious!"
Cons: "The 2 male flight attendants who served our rows did not smile once. Very unfriendly and seemed like they just wanted to do the minimum. We were also extremely unhappy that during check in was advised that our seats were not allocated together when we booked the tickets together and are also Enrich frequent flyer members. We had to demand to speak to a manager for them to change our seats."
Pros: "Flight to KUL from BKK was a fairly new 737 and had a new entertainment system. It was clean and looked well maintained. Nice ride."
Cons: "Return to BKK from KUL was on a 737-800 that looked like it was ready for the scrap heap. Very dirty even on the outside of the plane. The backs of the seats were torn and spots from drinks and dirty hands on the backs of the head rest. All the magazines were WELL worn and one had gum between the pages. The table top had part of a meal left on it."
Cons: "Lost baggage on direct flight"
Pros: "Fare was ok."
Cons: "Ground agent was surly and inefficient. Paying excess bag charge took 15 minutes. Not offered an upgrade. Boarding was ok, in flight ok, as flight was short"
Pros: "Nothing in particular."
Cons: "Nothing in particular."
Pros: "Nothing in particular."
Cons: "Crew were not responsive, lacked initiative and had an upsetting attitude when serving. Food was stale, toilets had pee on the floor: Stewardess didn't bother to clean up, she just sprayed an air freshener instead."
Pros: "Comfort ok"
Cons: "I'm a 4 years Globe trotter Malaysia airlines is one of the worse companies I know my backpack new generation for great traveller by few months before at $600 form Kathmandu been torn up ( tear ) with shoes print on my backpack I'm not recommend this companies to anyone it was my first and last time I used ."
Pros: "All thing"
Pros: "Plane seemed new and the seats were comfortable in Business class. Crew was efficient."
Cons: "Food was stale cellophane wrapped bread and croissant that I did not eat. There is no alcohol served on any Malaysian flight of less than 3 hours. It was a bus boarding that was delayed by weather supposedly but the Tiger Air flight that was due to depart from the same gate area 35 minutes later actually took off on time before our flight. I lived in Malaysia and Singapore for eight years in the late '80's and early '90's, at which time I thought that Malaysian was the best airline in the sky.
