Cons: "I was booked on flight QF 74 from San Francisco, connecting in Sydney (3 hour connection) to Queenstown, New Zealand. When I went to check in I was told that I needed a transit visa for Australia because of my Indian Passport. When I booked the flight back in September, it was not a requirement to have a transit Visa. I was told by the Qantas supervisor that this was a new requirement as of October for Indian and Chinese passport holders even with brief connections. 9 people were in a similar situation the day before and denied boarding. I understand that things change, but I am very disappointed in the service provided to me. Of course, they could not help me get an evisa for Australia, but they were not even willing to help me search for it rebook a Qantas flight connecting in a different city/country. They did not even connect me with online reservations directly to quickly do something to be able to continue on my journey. They only gave me a phone number to call and sent me away. I tried the number and was on hold for almost an hour. Luckily, my friends were on a different flight on Air New Zealand that had seats leaving in 2 hours, and I almost missed that waiting to talk to someone from Qantas. I booked a ticket with Air New Zealand (by talking to their checkin agent, who was able to connect me directly with a reservations agent via a direct line, which was something I was hoping Qantas would help me with at a bare minimum) and I was able to purchase a ticket for that Air NZ flight and continue on. I’m VERY disappointed in the way that I was treated and not provided with assistance in a timely manner. I would have almost missed that flight and have to miss out on pre-arranged travel plans losing out on an additional $2000 in tour / accommodation bookings."
Pros: "Nice amenities, very efficient"
Pros: "Crew was great, I lucked out and got a whole row to myself and the entertainment was awesome."
Cons: "The food was just ok."
Pros: "The crew was amazing! Its amazing the difference in overall politeness of that australian based flight crew vs a US based crew. Every need, every question, every request answered with a smile."
Pros: "The service was friendly and attentive, the food was good, the legroom was amazingly good for coach, and there were lots of good movies available. Really great all the way around."
Cons: "For such a long trans-oceanic flight, I am used to the cabin crew coming around with drinks on a regular basis to keep people hydrated. That didn't really happen on this flight; I had to get up twice and walk to where the crew were hanging out (in a closed-curtain area) and ask for water."
Pros: "We were treated very rudely."
Cons: "We were treated very rudely. We should’ve taken another airline"
Pros: "Crew was nice and friendly. Economy class seats are never super comfy, however, they were just fine."
Pros: "Amazing food and entertainment."
Cons: "I’ve been on more comfortable plane seats."
Pros: "Great seats on the 787 dreamliner"
Cons: "Best flight ever all time"
Pros: "The crew was amazing , the seats comfortable abd the food and refreshments very good."
Cons: "It would be better if there was a media screen between Sydney and Perth."
Pros: "I had to change flights to LA."
Pros: "The seats had more room than the bigger planes. We were offered a very nice sandwich for lunch There was cool air pumped around the plane from the moment we boarded"

Pros: "Fantastic service and overall experience on my first flight on a 787 Dreamliner. Flying QF50 with Qantas from SFO to Melbourne. Slept 8 hours. Will fly down from Sydney to leave via Melbourne in the future, such a good plane."
Cons: "Took forever to disembark from plane"
Cons: "Couldn't get on the flight, thanks to the airline counter person."
Pros: "Seat was more comfortable than I had expected."
Pros: "Quantas rerouted our SFO - SDY non stop trouble LAX to pick up 28 Passengers!! So 270 Passengers ha to endure an additional 3grs 30 min. No compensation not even a drink voucher! Not up to Quantas standards."
Pros: "You have a good airline. It was clean and everyone was friendly all communication was good EXCEPT before I got to the airport I forgot my visa and thought all I’d have to do is call Qantas and they’d advise me."
Cons: "Every time I’d call an 800 number I’d get someone in South Africa who was sooooo unhelpful. I’m sure she had her script but for heavensake all I needed to do was to go online and get a visa. And I saw someone in San Francisco at the ticket counter get a visa and yet I was told I wouldn’t be flying that night as I had forgotten to get a visa. No help at all !! I know I wasn’t the only person that ever got a visa. I was told to call my consulate. Clearly there was a simple way to get a visa and I was so freaked out until I figured it out myself. Made it so unpleasant."
Pros: "The flight was perfect, good leg space in economy, food was good both breakfast and dinner, even snacks were available during the flight."
Cons: "We did not get on our flight because we weren’t notified of the time change. Extremely dissatisfied with customer service and the overall airline."

Cons: "The crew was not all that friendly in my section"
Cons: "Service in the cabin was very bad all the staff look lost they had no idea what the wher doing like first day on the job with no training"
Pros: "Relatively roomy"
Pros: "As my partner and I got on board, flight attendants greeted us with a smile. Upon deplaning, each flight attendant we passed by said "thank you" for flying Qantas to Sydney"
Cons: "My partner and I wish we could check-in on the App instead of checking in for flight on the web site via laptop"
Pros: "Got away on time and landed early."
Cons: "Boarding pass scanners broken - so couldn't scan from a phone. And then the boarding pass printer wasn't working properly either. Also these planes are very noisy."
Pros: "Crew was great"
Cons: "Food was terrible (gave it 1 star because it showed up) and boarding was chaotic"
Pros: "Appreciate the leg room. I had a kit from business which included earplugs. Very grateful for them as there was a screaming baby nearby. Last time I could PE it was a different kit and had no buds. Staff were very friendly and excellent service all round."
Cons: "Food is not so good in Premium. Really notice the difference after flying Business, but I also heard Q recently changed provider. Pasta was bland, overcooked, uninspiring. Muesli tasted very sugary, like it was made with brown sugar. Not as healthy as the biz class meals."
Pros: "Cleanliness and comfort of plane, professionalism and courtesy of staff. Quiet, dark cabin allowed for restful trip."
Pros: "Our flight with qantas was fantastic. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Premium economy makes a difference on a 15 he flight."
Cons: "when my bag got lost"
Pros: "Qantas rarely disappoint! I have been flying with them for almost 35 years and I don't recall a bad flight"
Cons: "Nothing comes to mind"
Pros: "I was surprised by the amount of food included in the fare. I was not expecting two full meals. I also appreciated all the movie choices. Thanks for making a 14 hour flight bearable."
Pros: "Plane, when I boarded, at least in Coach, smelled like vendors hot-dog water. Took an hour and a half to be offered a drink of anything other than a bottle water. By the end of the flight, trash in the aisles, lavatories were nasty."
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "Great food and service, enjoyable flight home. Cabin was clean and seats as good as airlines are."
Cons: "What horrible uniforms...... they are shockers."
Pros: "Everyone and everything"
Pros: "I liked the fact that there was a water refilling station so I could get water when I needed/wanted it. The people were friendly and there were lots of times when the lights remained off so that people could sleep. There weren't a lot of interruptions during the flight so people could rest or do what they wanted! I also like that Quantas is associated with American so I got a ton of miles!"
Cons: "My seat wouldn't stay upright so any movement made it go back, which was fine for resting but when eating or sitting up, I kept falling back. Luckily the person behind me was understanding."
Pros: "The staff was great, the individual screens and entertainment options were great. Boarding and service was excellent. Included meal and meal options."
Cons: "Not a lot of leg room. My husband and I are both 6ft / 1.8m and on such a long flight, 13hrs it got uncomfortable"
Cons: "We had requested a wheelchair for my mum on her flight from SFO to Perth. But on arrival in Sydney, she was not offered a wheelchair. We had checked with a quanta staff while getting our boarding pass about the wheelchair and she said they will be providing her with it. So disappionted. How will I be able to trust quantas again while booking tickets for aged/sick people?"
Cons: "I made the same flight last year on a newer plane. This time I missed having water bottles available at all times."
Pros: "Such an arduous and indirect flight route and entertainment screen was non viable but always good to fly with Qantas!"
Pros: "Friendly service, reasonable food"
Pros: "I got a great deal on this flight, I will look to KAYAK For all my travel needs."
Cons: "I did not at all like the fact that the Qantas supplied headphones did not come with an adaptor to convert my pwn noise cancelling earphones to stereo sound."
Pros: "Appologises for the delay and the pilots attempt to make up time. The care taken during the turbulent period."
Pros: "The crew were really very good kind and could not have done more. I have crew members who are patients of mine and I know the stress they undergo and I wa actually very proud of the crew in my section of the aircraft"
Cons: "Not applicable"
Pros: "Food off the menu was excellent. Tummy wasn't feeling well so I liked having carb-free options. The Asian salad for dinner and fruit platter for brekkie went down well."
Cons: "Have always booked tickets and flown with my partner. Set alarm to check-in online exactly 24hrs prior to departure as usual and found my partner and I seated in different seats with no available seats to switch. How can this be on an aircraft this big? Thought we might be able to fix it at the counter next day, we headed to the airport early by 3hrs to sort it out. Maybe it was the end of a long day, our flight was close to midnight... Check-in lady was lovely and all smiles but it went downhill from here... No option to sit together and no offer of an upgrade at the counter or at boarding (we didn't ask). Duty-free collection instructions weren't clear prior to boarding ("board as you will and pick up after") and during boarding the staff member seemed over it ("pick up after boarding"). Wouldn't it be easier to advise over the PA so we don't have to ask or if we have to ask explain something along the lines of "you can collect your duty free from the cart after you scan you ticket, prior to boarding the aircraft". The worst part of our experience was the aircraft itself. The plane was obviously very old and tired. My partner's seat kept reclining and wouldn't stay upright (we didn't complain). Rows were so close together that you could smell the person in front's hair when they reclined their chair fully (which they did for the entirety of the flight) and your eyes feel cross-eyed it was so close. The entertainment system was old - we couldn't choose when to watch our movies and as movies aren't the same duration we missed out on a lot of the movies we did want to watch. Finally the selection of movies could've made up for this downfall but it was incredibly limited in selection for a long haul flight. Not sure if it was us but the flight crew also seemed tired and over it too. Luckily we had sleeping pills so we slept through much of the flight but what we did experience wasn't good at all. V disappointed."
