This companies business model is high friction. I ended up with two tickets for my daughter on the same flights as one of their affiliates had problems with their website so it told me I wasn’t successful booking when i later found out the message was wrong. In the interim i booked the small flights on Tiger. I called both companies 4 times got the usual Asian call center responses and finally someone had the guts to tell me they would do nothing about it. Just insane and that’s what you will be if you ignore my advice. My daughter ended up with two flights she could never use and they would not do a single thing to help apart from go through their call center script to keep their jobs. You have been warned. Kayak should never refer people to gotogate.com. They offer similar customer service and would also do nothing.

Boarding exceptionally slow due to intensive screening of each passengers hand luggage. Opportunististic for making an extra $36/bag if a gram over 7. Seat unable to recline. Literally not enough room for legs and needed to sit sideways and I’m not that tall!

The flight was fantastic boarding crew were great and the onboard crew were very nice. I enjoyed the onboard wifi and the meal.

I didn't like that my gate and terminal numbers were changed so many times. It messed up the meeting of family. Also I really hate that there is not much leg room.

The plane required the note book to view current movie but the note book has to have the app installed before take off. It was not properly draw my attention in advance via e-mail or text messages. For such a long flight, Qantas should have a better plane to server this route. Totally disappointed.

The view

Poor food and no choice, only given tofu noodles! The general appearance of the plane was dated and worn, needs a refit. It felt more like a cheap budget airline not ‘the spirit of australia’ as branded. The touch screen was so bad that you forced the persons head in front to move when you pressed the screen.

Flight time rescheduled meaning we had very little time for connecting flight. Then they checked our luggage in (weighed 8.5kg and only 7 allowed (charged $108). The booking in of the bags meant one of our party missed connecting flight. She arrived at gate while plane was still there and Capt said he would wait but ground staff over-ruled decision. Not happy.

My new baggage arrived damaged, a zipper was torn open and items missing. The staff both at the Coffs Habour airport, and the co-ordinator of customer complaints all talk about non liability, but refuse to show me a document that shows they are not liable. I have looked through all documents that I signed before I took the flight, and there is nothing in them to suggest that the airline does not need to compensate me in this case. The airline staff has been deceptive, in that the ground staff tried to get rid of me with giving me the travel conditions document with something highlighted that had no relevance to the incident. When she gave me the document she folded it, thinking I would not look at it til later. I did look at it straight away, confronted her with the irrelevance of the highlighted paragraph. She just shrug her shoulders and advised I should write to customer care. She then gave me the wrong email address. Virgin has consistently shown me no respect by not showing me their non coverage clause in any written material.

The flight was fantastic boarding crew were great and the onboard crew were very nice. I enjoyed the onboard wifi and the meal.

I didn't like that my gate and terminal numbers were changed so many times. It messed up the meeting of family. Also I really hate that there is not much leg room.

Boarding exceptionally slow due to intensive screening of each passengers hand luggage. Opportunististic for making an extra $36/bag if a gram over 7. Seat unable to recline. Literally not enough room for legs and needed to sit sideways and I’m not that tall!

My new baggage arrived damaged, a zipper was torn open and items missing. The staff both at the Coffs Habour airport, and the co-ordinator of customer complaints all talk about non liability, but refuse to show me a document that shows they are not liable. I have looked through all documents that I signed before I took the flight, and there is nothing in them to suggest that the airline does not need to compensate me in this case. The airline staff has been deceptive, in that the ground staff tried to get rid of me with giving me the travel conditions document with something highlighted that had no relevance to the incident. When she gave me the document she folded it, thinking I would not look at it til later. I did look at it straight away, confronted her with the irrelevance of the highlighted paragraph. She just shrug her shoulders and advised I should write to customer care. She then gave me the wrong email address. The departure gate was not displayed on the electronic board at the airport until an announcement that boarding was 'commencing' which caused some unnecessary anxiety.

This companies business model is high friction. I ended up with two tickets for my daughter on the same flights as one of their affiliates had problems with their website so it told me I wasn’t successful booking when i later found out the message was wrong. In the interim i booked the small flights on Tiger. I called both companies 4 times got the usual Asian call center responses and finally someone had the guts to tell me they would do nothing about it. Just insane and that’s what you will be if you ignore my advice. My daughter ended up with two flights she could never use and they would not do a single thing to help apart from go through their call center script to keep their jobs. You have been warned. Kayak should never refer people to gotogate.com. They offer similar customer service and would also do nothing.
