Cons: "ruin my seat arrangement for no reason! We were traveling as a family of 7 (2 grandparents from each side, my husband, my 4 year son and myself). We paid $30 per person per seat so that we could sit together and watch out for each other because some of the grandparents are in their 80's. However, when we checked in, we found out all our seats were re-arranged and in the worst possible way! Our 4 year old child was assigned in middle seat no where near my husband or myself. In addition, the family was divided in half, separated by the service station. I had switched seat so I can sit with my son but my husband had to sit at the other side of the service station to take care of the other half of the family because they do not speak English. I was left to attend to my 4 year old son by myself, which was hard to do. what bothers me the most is that there seem to be no obvious reason for them to re-arranged seats in such a devastating manner - it was not a full flight at all. I saw quite a few empty seats in the back. We spoke to the woman who was the head of the stewardess about the problem upon boarding, she said she would try to see what she could do, but she never got back to us at all. The seats were horrible seats for a few reason. First, there were a lot of traffic and noise from crew and other passengers because they were next to the Service station. Second, we were always the last one to receive food service because of the location. This is a problem when you have 4 year old and 80 years old who were diabetics."

People with connections should have been handled separately and in a different way. Some people got rescheduled on earlier flights than we were told but did not know about it so many missed their rescheduled flights."

Cons: "The cabin crew was rude and had no self awareness. 2 times where I wasn't finished with my drink and they grabbed it right out of my hands. I was grabbing it so they could clear everything else but they took it as me trying to hand it to them. Both times I told them I was still drinking that and they disregarded it and threw it in the trash without hesitation. It's like they were robots on autopilot. Also, the male attendant in my row would always bump me pretty severely with his bum while grabbing things from the cart."

The people were friendly and there were lots of times when the lights remained off so that people could sleep. There weren't a lot of interruptions during the flight so people could rest or do what they wanted! I also like that Quantas is associated with American so I got a ton of miles!"

Also we did not receive the mid flight snack that was listed on the menu. The meals themselves were not as tasty, varied, nor as filling as those on Fiji Airways and United Airlines. I was still hungry after eating my breakfast, and I was only offered tea, when I expected both a choice of juice and tea."

We sat in row 73 from Sydney to SFO and it was really hot, the AC didnt really kick in. It was uncomfortable. But it did finally got colder. It just took a long time."

Despite the line (of several hundred people), the staff appeared to have no urgency about moving customers through the check-in process, and at one point two of the the three workers quit working, packed up and left. Replacements arrived five minutes later and took another five to ten minutes to set-up before helping customers - leaving one agent for the overflowing line. Total wait time for check-in alone was over 1 hour."

Had to collect my bags, go through customs, recheck bags, take a shuttle to a domestic flight terminal, go through security, then I hear over the speaker it was the final boarding call for my flight, had to run again. I am a 56 y/o woman, was not fun. When I arrived in Cairns at about noon, I found that my bag missed the flight. I was told my bag would be delivered to my hotel in Palm Cove that evening, I received my bag the next morning. The flights into and out of LA were run by Delta, the flight from Sydney to Cairns was VIrgin Australia."

Pros: "The egg and lettuce sandwich was fresh and delicious! A bigger serving would have been nice. The Cadbury biscuit chocolate was also a perfect match with a coffee."

I asked to redress thsi for the retrun trip and have since discovered that the details have NOT been updated despite paying! So now I need to call Jetstar and worknthrough the issue."

Also I was charged $100+ for a date change - but I was SURE I clicked the right date, and even if I didn't, you should have a confirmation screen which confirms what the customer is ordering before they finally approve the order."

Due to Australia's strict carry-on policy - one item, period - I had to repack my luggage, which contained a fragie printer that had been in my carry-on when I could have it AND a computer bag. The Jet Star allowed two checked pieces, and the agent gave me all the time I needed to make the changes. She then marked the bag fragile, and sent me to the oversize/fragile bay with it.
