Cons: The staff were poorly trained. We didn't deal with one person who seemed to even act like they cared we were. We travel a lot, and the way the staff behaved put them in the bottom 25% for customer service skills.

Cons: A bit overpriced if you ask me. The parking is absolutely ridiculous!!! $42 a night! I've paid less for rooms! For the price you pay to stay here parking should be free or at best a minimum fee for guests since there are no alternative parking areas.
Room service, way overpriced as usual but the added fees and taxes are ridiculous and the food is just ok.

Cons: Hot water was not working at all. Fixed by the morning but too late for evening activities. Nice to have a coffee shop open so early and the pool area was delightful. Friendly staff.

Cons: No hot water in the room on Friday afternoon, after a day at the gym, and pool. So we went out to dinner and Clippers game without a shower on Friday night. Once returning that night we finally had hot water shower, however no air conditioning. We called 2 times and no one came up to help. No manager response, no nothing.
Also cold, hot tube at the pool during the day.
Last, gym was closed so we had to go to front desk for key to adjacent hotel in order to use their gym. I’ve stayed at Marriott at least a dozen times before and always consistently great facilities. Eg. Times Square, union square, Anaheim, San Juan. This one had too many problems in one day.

While I normally use Lyft or Uber, I actually found the courtesy car faster and the drivers more knowledgable about the area. I tried both Lyft and Uber and both drivers took long and got lost. If you are here on business, the courtesy car is the way to go, especially as the drivers know the area well, especially the places you need to get to quickly for work.

Cons: Lack of spa facilities. I booked a facial with the Omni Spa expecting there to be actual spa facilities since the price of a facial was as high as any resort spa (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, waiting room with tea and snacks) but there was none of that. I went down early to the spa area and was told to just come a few minutes before my appointment (there is no where to really hang out for an extended period). The pool outside was uninviting as it was drizzling. And there was just the fitness room down there and a small waiting area for the spa treatment rooms. The facial was very good, but I was just surprised/disappointed with the "spa" area.

Pros: We stayed at the Sheraton downtown to be within walking distance to a hockey game at Staples Centre. The hotel location was great for this. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a renovated room which was very nice. The Sheraton hotels always seem to have the most comfortable beds in any hotel. The bed was the most comfortable of all the hotels we stayed at during our week long vacation. Linens and towels were great as well.

Cons: We did not like the fact that we had to pay for wifi. A hotel of this star rating and price should have complimentary wifi for guests, especially since it is located downtown and I presume there would be many guests there on business. We also found that when we attempted web access without wifi that there was little reception on the 21 floor, so we were without web access that day. Our room was located 2 doors away from the elevators which was noisy. The water pressure in the shower was quite terrible.

Room keys are actual keys and in a way that is very cute and old fashioned, it didn't seem as safe, especially with just a chain lock on the inside of the room door, and no deadbolt. The room was cute, beds were comfortable, bedding was clean. Could hear people on the street and cars clearly. So could use some sound proofing. If you went to the hotel for a event or party and didn't stay overnight I think you would be better off.

Room is decent -- old-school but memorable. Moroccan style design with lots of mystical colors. No coffee maker or any of that, but they get a pass for being interesting. I paid 250USD a night but that's a bit much. For 150-180USD this would be a good deal. Good location, though there are some sketchy characters / homeless hanging around at night (definitely did not feel dangerous though). Staff was great. Polite and helpful. Subway is just a few blocks away. Overall a good base if you're staying in DTLA, IF you can get the room for around 150USD.

Cons: Their is no coffee maker in the room and that little luxury would have been really nice since we were never able to use the breakfast during the time they provided. Their was no book talking about nearby restaurants and features of the hotel in the room by the phone, so that was odd. The parking lot was tiny and the spaces were extremely close and we were in a small sports car, so had to pay to park next door $30 one night and $24 the second. The bathroom in the room was tiny and very outdated, the shower curtain had a hole in it and was yellowed from wear. The main thing that I thought was gross was their was several black foreign hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom. I didn't want to call and make a complaint, and I saw the maid was a few doors down before we left so I left her a note with a tip on the bed that said "The room looks great, but their is a few foreign hairs on the ceiling of the bathroom, could you please take care of that? Thank you..." When we returned the note and tip were gone but the hairs on the ceiling remained. I thought it was rude to take a tip and not clean up the hairs on the ceiling. The bathroom was tiny. It wouldn't take long to see them if you looked up. That was my biggest turn off, but maybe the maid couldn't read english?

Cons: The bad. They don't use keycards for the elevator or door. As mentioned, there are some sketchy characters outside, and there's lots of people coming inside for the pool parties at night. Anyone could just take the elevator upstairs and potentially kick a door down. Locks seemed kinda weak. No safe in the room, but they have 'em downstairs. Late checkout was 12.30pm and that's pretty BS.
Stayed on the 8th floor so sound wasn't a problem, but if you're a light sleeper, don't stay on the lower floors. If you're looking for a sterile place to stay with grandma and the kids, this is not it -- better go with a chain like Hilton or Ritz. But if grandma used to be a hippie and you're fairly open, it's great.

Cons: For $256/night, my room badly needed an update. There were only 2 power outlets - One shared between the TV and the AC and the other was inaccessible behind the bed. This just doesn't cut it in today's day and age, esp for a hotel that at least partially caters to the convention crowd.
In addition, the bathroom was tiny and the shower was so narrow that I had to bathe sideways (2.5 feet, I measured.) Plus, there was nowhere in the shower to put items aside from the floor, no soap tray, nothing.
I won't be staying here again. I knew it wasn't going to be the Ritz, but this was a tad too far into the 60s for me.

The floors are concrete and feel unkempt because of their coldness. The decor is also themed but feels cold and dingy, the rugs on the walls were half hung. The worst was the A/C in the window and being hot all night. We ended up running to the ACE to salvage our vacation.

Cons: They sold my reservation and wanted me to stay in a Sheraton in Universal city putting me about an hour out with traffic and my appointment was at 530pm in downtown LA and 7am at the LA hotel the next morning.
They blamed Kayak and stated that "you" sell reservations when open reservations don't exist. They took no blame or responsibility. I had to stay in another hotel near LA hotel because my appointment was at 7am there at LA hotel!

Furniture looked like it hadn't been polished ever - just lightly dusted bn guests. No free wi-fi.
If I didn't experience any of this, I would've given a much better rating but it's hard to get past first impressions. I'm big in attention to details and unfortunately it just wasn't there, and certainly not for $300 per night.

Cons: The noise from subway construction outside my room was horrible. When I complained the staff offered me the ability to check out without being charged. I explained that was not possible as I had been drinking and did not want to drive after drinking, and it was 1000 pm on Friday night! They were tearing up the road with huge machines to build a subway and they were doing this at night so as not to disrupt day time traffic. After we continued our conversation the staff stained offered me the option to check out. He then said he would comp my valet parking and drinks that were on my room tab. When I checked out the next morning he had not removed any of the said items. Horrible service! These rooms overlooking 6th and Flower should not be sold to customers. I will be contacting both Kayak and the Standard asking for a refund.

Cons: There was no alarm clock or clock in the room. This posed many problems for me. I had to turn on the tv and flip the channel to get a momentary glimpse of the time. Also, the mini fridge was crammed full of drinks so that there was no room to house leftover food.
The gym was stagnant, dark, and claustrophobic. The equipment was in great shape and functional, but being in that room was a struggle mentally. The walls were a terrible wood-paneling that accentuated the windowless, dark smallness of the room. There was no music, or tv to drown out the silence.
Also, on my last morning I found that my arm was eaten up by what could only have been bedbugs.

My room was comfortable and clean with reasonable wifi and while not enormous was fine for what I needed. The bar has a nice vibe in evenings, reasonably priced and the menu was great. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Pros: The location was perfect for what I needed access to.
Cons: Staff were condescending and dismissive (particularly Javie) with very poor customer service skills. In the middle of my completely calm discussion with Javie about why he tried charging me twice for my stay (with an outrageous incidental hold charge), I was on the receiving end of the rudest "hold on" finger gesture when he decided that was the appropriate moment to take a phone call.
Dark, stuffy hallways, dark rooms (the few lights that were in the room were dim and poorly located), broken down mattress, SPIDERS (killed three during my 7-day stay), and breakfast was weak (OJ, bran cereal, coffee/tea, instant oatmeal).
Neighboring rooms were noisy beyond belief. I was awakened in the middle of the night several times throughout my stay to a screaming child, elephants upstairs and neighboring rooms blasting loud music on the featured Samsung Smart TVs.
While on the way to the hotel prior to my stay, I was excited to see I could text the hotel to check in and ask questions. Microwaves available? No. This made leftovers from restaurants wasted. Could you provide me service and price information for your spa? No, here's the phone number so you can call them yourself.
Truly disappointing and put a big damper on my first trip to LA. BUT, if you need a hotel that is centrally located, and the Milner and Biltmore are too pricey for you, then O Hotel is in a good spot.

Cons: They gave us the choice of a room above a club and the front desk person told me "it's going to be loud. You won't sleep." Or a smoking twin room. The twin beds aren't even true twins. They're tiny. The room is so small that only one person can walk to the bathroom, one person must be in a bed in order for the other to walk. I was stunned at how small the room was. They wouldn't cooperate when I told them I had a big audition the next day and my choice was between not sleeping or sleeping in a tiny room and breathing the harsh smoking room air. Instead I paid more for the hilton the same night because it was that bad. Never again.

Pros: There was a fridge and microwave in my room, the reviews are true. I came in on a greyhound bus with my toddler son and husband. The station was about 2 miles from the hotel. The street was full of homeless people and druggies, but other than that the hotel was close to staples center and many la attractions. We arrived early for check in, and the man was nice enough to let us keep our bags at the front desk until we returned. Shower and ac worked alright. Tv had many channels. Free breakfast consisted of coffee and orange juice, toast with jam and cereal.

Cons: The beds were stiff, but personally i enjoy firm surfaces. But you can tell they are extremely outdated. The ac was also outdated and noisey, but i made it through the night with no major disruptions. The room was all tile and slippery, but it kept the room cool although it was tough for my toddler to walk without slipping. All in all it can use some improvement everywhere;paint job, molding; etc. Pool was friendly but kindof small. Although the guy was nice enough to let us leave our luggage he was standoffish to letting us use the bathroom before we left or change our son. I also asked about the breakfast and he said since we hadnt paid we werent allowed to use it although we had rooms reserved with credit card. He rushed us out and seemed irritated we were there so early in the morning.

Cons: The man checking us in was in a rush to do something else, and when we walked into the room, there was a piece of popcorn chicken left behind by the window. Piece of wood separating the wood floors from the bathroom tiles was broken so stepping there without looking could have caused someone’s foot to get hurt. A towel and bedsheet had stains. Bed was hard.
I was in the room in the afternoon when cleaning was over, but the lady kept knocking and tried to get in while I was inside and would not leave until she cleaned the room. They are not supposed to enter when someone is inside. I would have been okay with the other issues but this just disappointed me. Location isn’t the best, but we didn’t stay out too late. A lot of homeless people sleep right outside, though, and it’s not the cleanest area, so watch out. Definitely overpriced for what we got.

Cons: Only one of the two elevators was working and so it was a long wait for the elevator. At one point both elevators were broken and I stayed on the eleventh floor, so that's a long way up and down.

Cons: You get what you pay for. This hotel is in quite an old building so some things can't be helped or would require a major investment. If you know what you're in for this hotel could be good enough for a short trip. If you're expecting a 3+ star hotel, look elsewhere.
The rooms are very small. The sink is in the room instead of in the bathroom. The showers are very small.
The windows don't shut 100%, street sounds can be heard. Especially at 1:00 AM when people are beginning to leave bars or concerts at the Staples Center.
The closets are tiny, the hangers in them have to be at an angle to shut the door.
The door to the room I had during this trip would stick; so, I had to be extra forceful to get it open or closed.
During my two visits at this hotel I requested and was approved for late checkout. Neither time was housekeeping informed. The first time the housekeeper was knocking on the door at 11am trying to get in to clean the room. My Spanish and her English were both poor so while the point got across eventually, it was awkward because I was just out of the shower. This time I returned to my room to find the door propped open with a wet towel and nobody around. None of my things were disturbed so I shut the door to get ready to shower. The housekeeper promptly knocked and asked if I was checking out. I let her know I had late check out and she returned to another room.
The room I stayed in during this trip had a faint foul odor. They could use some of those air fresheners that go off on a timer.
Finally, roaches. During my trip last year I killed one large roach. I knew this wasn't a great hotel so I wasn't exactly shocked by the creature. This time I killed one small one in the evening and 10 more in the morning (ranging from very small to large). The number of them was disturbing because I would catch the movement in the corner of my eye and then kill them. If I was less observant I may not have noticed all of them; but truthfully I may have missed many more even with the number I killed.

Cons: I was with friends. Their room had a closet blocked by a side table and a side area with wires hanging from the ceiling. The two person room I had was smaller that the one person room my friends had and the bathroom was barely big enough for one person to stand and turn around or do anything. The room was not cleaned all the way and they did not give us fresh towels. Breakfast was meager: waffle maker, juice/milk, hot/cold cereal, fruit and pastries. I would never stay there again. Nothing in the pictures was what in my room and nothing in my room reflected the amount I paid. No one in my party was happy with their room. The location was fine as we could walk everywhere we needed, but I had to park in a lot down the street. All in all this was an expensive hotel for no reason.

Pros: The location is good. It's near the metro and convention center. My room was quiet. The free breakfast is basic but a nice add-on.
Cons: The hotel is old and while the lobby looks decent, my room felt really dirty. It also smelled bad. I was afraid to step on the carpet with my bare feet or even my socks. I also didn't feel comfortable drinking the tap water there so I had to buy bottled water.
There are also lots of homeless people hanging around the hotel. The front desk attendant doubles as the "security" attendant as well. There were times that I wondered how easily homeless and other uninvited guests could get into the building.
On the last night I did see a roach in my bathroom.
The ice machines were all broken except for one.

I don't like that they have a sink next to the television set and outlet system (very dangerous). I don't like that the bathroom toilet had urine in it already and the shower grout had hair and a sort of residue on the floor. I don't like that the room smelt musky and dusty. I don't like that the I spent so much for false advertising. All in all I don't like this place. And there is literally no other positive except for the location, that's it.
