By that time I could not change flights as was traveling with others. What was going to be a modest flight charge turned out to be a hefty one. The flight otherwise was good to excellent."

We arrived not knowing this is a budget airline and you have to pay for everything. Due to weight restrictions they forced us to check our carryon luggage for $100 AUD per item. They said their website tells you of this fee but 3rd party sites, such as Kayak, does NOT upon booking. We were very frustrated to be paying such a large fee to check our carry on luggage. Kayak should tell you about these hidden fees upon booking as the fees were in the fine print AFTER booking and we simply did not read the fine print. Very disappointed in the lack of communication from Kayak. Entertainment cost an additional $10 and their choices were limited, food and drinks also cost $ on the plane."

There was literally no option to purchase it during my purchase process (I scrutinized every step of the process since I had been burned re baggage prices on my previous JetStar flight). I paid more for baggage on this flight than the previous flight even tho I paid for a lower amount of kilos. I decided to drive for the next of my flags instead of fly Jetstar again. Over it."

Honestly I don't know how he got a customer-facing position when his best response is "you should know better" when we mentioned that we were under the impression that the carry on baggage limit didn't include purses. We didn't get food, and entertainment was nonexistent (which is why we went with what we thought was Quantas). Added to the long line for Jetstar bag drop and the uncomfortable airplane, I'll never fly Jetstar again. Furthermore, Quantas should seriously consider whether lying to its customers is a good strategy."

Kayak doesn't warn you about this, and so you have to collect your baggage, go through customs, and buy a Visa. In sum, Kayak shouldn't allow you to purchasing strings-attached tickets from this airline."

Cons: "JetStar cuts corners and upcharges for everything! On our long international flights, meals were not included. Anything you ask for will be an additional charge. Also, they cancelled our flight and we didn't find out until we got to the airport. This caused us to have to wait for a shuttle for 45 minutes, then had to travel back to the hotel at 5am. Missed our oceanfront suite that we already paid for because of the cancellation. On our honeymoon no less!"
Pros: "On checking in, they charged us a penalty fee, and then our flight got cancelled at the last minute without any options to get back to the city in time for work. Had to book a last minute flight with a different airline and couldn't get luggage back in time to take it along!"

Being held hostage at the airport, we had no option but to cough up the $240...absolutely shocking policy...a miracle this airline hasn't been shut down for such outlandish and outrageous tactics. Don't patronize these thieves! Can't get beyond this to review any positives."

Cons: "At check-in we were forced to pay an extra $50. to check our carryon bags as there is a ridiculous 7kg limit for an international flight. Really?! This limit should be made clear before booking, next to the flight fee. Then we watched as people entered the plane with carryon that was clearly too big and heavy to be within the limit. They had obviously checked in on-line to avoid the fees. A lesson that encourages dishonesty. Really?! Then Jetstar wanted $4. for a cup of coffee in-flight. Really! And there is no alternative, other than going without, as no drinks can be brought on board given that security check is right at the gate. Crew were friendly and professional at all times and I felt sorry for them as they are the front-line for these ridiculous policies."

Seat recline is almost nil, spacing, my 5'7" frame knees were in the seat in front....boarding chaotic, would never fly them again! Charge bags at odd weight increments....."

A big overweight fellow with a piercing nasal voice. Also I was charged an extra $50 for a checked bag - seemed very unfair when if you google 'Jetstar cabin baggage allowance' it says 10 kg!"

(I thought I had reserved a baggage allowance online but apparently hadn't. Instead of at least trying to seem like she was sorry to have to charge me such an exorbitant fee, she was smirking the whole time, as though she was getting some sort of commission on it.) Everything else was more or less standard for a budget airline. My experience with the woman at the check-in desk, and the ridiculous size of the fee--more than I paid for my ticket--have ensured that I will never fly Jetstar again."

Cons: "I was on 3 day vacation booked to fly off at 7am from Sydney to reach Cairns at 10am and return after 2 days taking 7:15pm flight to reach Sydney around 10pm. This will be complete 3 days plan in Cairns. They delayed morning 7am flight by 4 hours. We went to the airport at 4am and sitting there till 11am. They did not even provide food coupon in spite of me approaching supervisor. Reached Cain at 3pm and by the time I picked my car and ready for sight seeing time is over and entire city is quite. We lost one day. Return fight at 7:45 cancelled and they moved us to 12 noon. We lost that day as well. Very bad baggage service."

Welcome drinks were a nice touch but from there the service was not very attentive, we had to ask for empty glasses and plates to be cleared after they sat with us for over an hour. The meal was not great - pretty lack luster. No priority bag tags and our bags took over an hour to come out the other end."

Cons: "The luggage issues for this airline can be complicated. It was difficult to tell from our online booking whether luggage was included (depends on your fare type). After considerable research we found that it wasn't. The price to add it, which you could do on line, was fair. However, when we found there were no lockers at the airport to store our extra baggage, we were almost hit with the outrageous rate of $15 per kilo for all the weight that we hadn't already contracted for. BE SURE you purchase the weight you need in advance or you will have major problems at the airport. They do have scales at check-in to weigh your stuff yourself in advance, and they didn't weight our carry on baggage. Customer service in Sydney wasn't very good. Staff seemed kinda cranky and unwilling to be very helpful."

Cons: "The station manager in cairns made my fiancé and I buy tickets out of Indonesia within 30 days. We always stay two months by buying a visa on arrival and extending. Why the heck would I had to buy a ticket out in 30 days if I can extend my visa? I have flown in and out of bali 10 times. 5 on jetstar. Never have I been questioned about an outbound flight. Let Indonesian immigration make me buy a flight. I believe it was jetstars way to try to sell tickets. I ended up buying on air Asia and will not fly jetstar again if I have a choice."
