Cons: "I was stopped at gate check in and taken to one side as the passport control had reported me for being intoxicated. I was injured in the armed forces and have a bit of a balance problem as lost most my hearing. I think drink alcohol any more. I asked for an aisle seat as I'm a big guy but was put on seat E next to a huge fat guy so was unable to sit properly. I couldn't get out of the seat once as he just slept and must of drempt as kept jumping and banging me. I had 1 meal on the over 13hr flight, which I couldn't eat properly as was unable to use the knife & fork due to the huge obese guy next to me. I asked the stewardess to wake me at all meal times. Which she didn't. So missed all the meals and tea/coffee. I was looking forward to the put a too. The London to Singapore flight was a total let down and I expected so much more from Quantus as they have always been top standard before. Overall disgusted in the service."

All I wanted to do was spend fifteen minutes reviewing my diary and directions for the visits planned here. This is the Irish version of hospitality. God bless his departure."

Fruit was fabulous and fresh - there were none left when I requested mine, but the flight attendant said there may be some left from other servers. I could have been there at 3pm if I didn’t ask for it in writing. That potentially could have cost me upwards of a grand if I had to stay another night in Sydney and another ticket... not happy!!!"

On the plane, the seat bottom had nearly no padding for a 14-hour flight. I sat on the small provided sleeping pillow part of the way."

The 7kg allowance per person on board with no option to purchase more was really hard for us - 2 adults and a baby - and the diaper bag is counted as part of your 7kg, unlike flying in the US. We had 7-8 hr layovers in cool weather."

Pros: "I chose Jetstar for their price and the timing of flight. Living in Canada I was not familiar with the airline."
Cons: "At check-in we were forced to pay an extra $50. to check our carryon bags as there is a ridiculous 7kg limit for an international flight. Really?! This limit should be made clear before booking, next to the flight fee. Then we watched as people entered the plane with carryon that was clearly too big and heavy to be within the limit. They had obviously checked in on-line to avoid the fees. A lesson that encourages dishonesty. Really?! Then Jetstar wanted $4. for a cup of coffee in-flight. Really! And there is no alternative, other than going without, as no drinks can be brought on board given that security check is right at the gate. Crew were friendly and professional at all times and I felt sorry for them as they are the front-line for these ridiculous policies."

Cons: "This is the worst of budget airlines. You check in, instead giving you a head up on all the concern, I have to go back to the customer service 3 times. My recommendation for people in Australia is to fly Virgin Australia, and skip on Jetstar and Qantas."
Pros: "Staff always wonderful. They need to be to make up for the stinginess in comfort and services that characterise everything else about this budget airline."
Cons: "Seats have minimal recline, so sleeping on this midnight flight is so unpleasantly difficult. Jetstar flights almost always delayed, and this is even more intolerable when it is a 1 am departure time. And having to pay for all food, even water - I know this is a budget airline, but when airport security is so overzealous that it is nigh impossible to carry on your own water, airlines need to take some responsibility and provide hydration. Finally, not providing blankets and pillows while cranking up the aircon to arctic just adds to the unpleasantness. I get the budget angle, but this is just mean. I will not be flying Jetstar in the future."

Cons: "The Jetstar domestic flight from Sydney to Cairns unexplicably left from the international terminal and we missed our flight due to that. The employees at Jetstar were rude and unhelpful. Jetstar cares only about money and not about customers' safety and security. They never even asked for our passports to verify that we were the actual ticketholders! However, they made sure to charge us every penny possible for our luggage. I could not get a simple cup of water on the flight without paying for it. Jetstar is a terrible airline and I would not recommend it to anybody!"
