You need to drop off the baggage back to Qantas after clearing Customs in Sydney. Unfortunately Qantas makes you walk quite a long distance to to baggage drop off point. The experience made me think of experiences I have had in developing countries. I expected more thoughtful logistical arrangements from Qantas in Australia."

Also, this particular flight was an evening flight and they even had complimentary snacks- not just peanuts but actual crackers and cheese. There was a small delay in the beginning due to crew having to come from another late aircraft but they handled it very professionally and despite starting late, still got us to our destination ahead of schedule."

But there weren't any on board the plane at all. And since I'm only 5'2" tall, my feet don't reach the floor, causing blood circulation to be cut off in my legs from the pressure of hanging on the seat. No recline for 12+ hours, and no foot rest = a lot of pain and discomfort. I've been to the doctor twice since arriving home and am still in pain."

There was an absurd amount of families on this flight with really young screaming, ill-behaved children and their indifferent parents. The flight attendants were equally indifferent and unhelpful. You get absolutely nothing for free - everything cost - food, blankets, pillows, etc. on this 10 hour flight. AND when water was requested, it was a small, mouthwash size cup with a note, that "we charge for water." $4. Wow. Probably one of the worst experiences in the air ever. I won't be back. The price was stellar, but after paying for seats, luggage and enduring the people on the flight, I'd prefer to pay more and get A LOT MORE from an airline like Virgin Australia. If you're cutting corners and trying to save money, save yourself and your sanity and spend a little more on quality airline."

This is 4 times the price on their website; that price is no longer available once you're at check-in. The service was slow and inefficient. Even after checking in online we still had to wait in line to check in at the counter. This took ages since at least 5 or 6 other people were having issues with Jetstar, like us. The flight itself was cramped (I'm a shorter woman and had almost no leg room) and there were no complimentary drinks or snacks for our 4 hour flight. We opted for Jetstar because it's the cheapest option, but ended up having to pay more than we would have for a much nicer flight with another airline."

A fellow passenger warned us that Jet Star does not even supply passengers with drinking water so I filled a bottle from one of the fountains. We discovered that Jet Star charges for every kilo of checked luggage unlike any other time I have made this flight with different airlines. I would advise anyone to think twice about using this airlines for any flights longer than 4 hours because your going to be pretty hungry and thirsty unless you want to pay $4 for 6 ounces of water. Make sure you have all the baggage costs figured into your ticket charge when you purchase a ticket from these cheapskates and make sure you carry on what you need to drink and eat. The food looked terrible."

Since I booked the flight with Kayak, I had trouble paying in advance for bags online and selecting seats via kayak and on Jetstar website after booking in USA. It is not clear on any site that there is a 15kg bag limit and and excess charge beyond that. I even tried adding a bag and seats 24kg prior while in Australia but it wouldn't let me or give me that option. I was told at the Jetstar service desk that I need to contact Kayak/ Jetstar directly via email to file a complaint for this ridiculous bag charge. Its unfortunate that as USA person we are not aware of this poor service airline. My bag was not over limit and there is no justification for this high bag charge. USA airlines only charge high if you are overlimit but Jetstar is ripping people off. if there is anything you can do for me, its greatly appreciated."

Takeover in the wind?No wonder QANTAS is so expensive and its cheaper arm JETSTAR are cut to the bone. Staff can only do so much."

Cons: "The crew had to move people to the back of the plane to "balance the weight". Never heard of that before. So we sat for 30 minutes while they rearranged the passengers. The flight attendant seemed almost drunk. He kept rambling on the intercom and slurring his words. Very unprofessional."

Cons: "Bait and Switch. They offer low prices online and charge you for everything possible after that, including $50 for my bag that was small enough to carry on but they said weighed slightly too much."
Pros: "I do believe that you get what you pay for, so I didn't mind the minimal level of service. The flight was on time. Check in was easy and efficient. The crew was pleasant and helpful."
Cons: "This is a problem not confined to Jetstar, but which affects the industry as a whole. Why do the board sick passengers? There was a man seated two rows behind us who coughed and wheezed the whole way from Cairns to Melbourne. He couldn't clear his lungs. He had no business on a plane infecting the rest of us."

Cons: "The cost to check a bag was more than the cost of the flight. We bought food at Lawsons so didn't purchase the expensive food sold on board. They didn't even offer us water."
Cons: "Plane was delayed but they didn't let me even check in my bags at the original time to free me up to at least walk around with just my carry-on. So was forced to wait for the shuttle and then to go the very basic hotel provided."

Cons: "God this was an awful experience. They substituted a small plane for the big plane and bumped 100 people to a later flight with a connection thru an intermediate city, leaving 3 hours later. But that flight got delayed 2 hours so we would have missed our connection anyway and not gotten to our destination until 30 hours later. We spent most of the day standing in incredibly slow lines mislabelled Customer Service. It was nothing of the kind. The whole experience felt like being abused."

Pros: "The flight was on time and reasonably comfortable, partly because it was a short flight. No real problems. I was afraid that it may have been a mistake booking a cut-rate airline because of horrible experiences with such airlines in the USA (Allegiant, Spirit), but Jetstar is better than those airlines."
Cons: "Luggage policy is awful. Southwest Airlines has great luggage policies, and sets the standard every other airline should try to match."
Pros: "The check in line was long, but moved very quickly. The girl who checked us in was excellent - she put my friend and I in great seats next to each other with out our even having to ask."
Cons: "I wish I could pay for my suitcase at the airport based on what it weighs, rather than having to guess ahead of time. They ran out of some food options. They should have water on the food/beverage cart."

Cons: "Jetstar cancelled our flight home and rebooked us on a flight 14 hours later. We spent 6 hours at the airport before they announced this flight was also cancelled. This was 2am. They put us on another flight scheduled for 1.30pm which finally departed at 2.30pm. Will not consider flying Jetstar again for an international flight."
