Missed the next flight and had to wait another 3.5 hours for the next flight, even after explaining the situation to a gentleman at the customer service desk, he said he could not help us, and gave my partner and i am $8 food voucher while we waited as a 'sorry'. Then on the way home another 30 min delay. horrible first experience flying, Was very disappointed in the customer service & missed my brothers wedding. I should have booked Qantas instead of Virgin."

Not only was my last-minute Virgin ticket cheaper than Jetstar, I didn’t have to pay the ridiculous extra baggage fees Jetstar charges, and a meal with alcohol was included in my flight. Equally loud mothers baby-talked continuously to their offending offspring with no effect. Cabin staff made no attempt to control the noise levels. I recognize some of these small children could have been suffering ear pain from the cabin pressure changes but trained cabin staff could have offered remedies for this. It does not explain the continuous screaming at cruising altitude. I recognize that JETSTAR is an intentionally cheap and nasty airline. I reluctantly took this flight because there was no quality service (like QANTAS) at the time I required. I accept the lack of amenities offered by REAL airlines like complimentary food, drink, entertainment and healthy legroom are the cost of cheap travel but I would have happily paid a higher price for QANTAS had there been a flight. I will not fly JETSTAR again and if no alternative exists with QANTAS, I will choose another airline in spite of my long allegiance to QANTAS CC: QANTAS"

The journey didn’t start well when our bags would not scan through the self serve checkin as we had not booked direct with Jetstar. We then asked for an aisle seat, but this was refused - the “customer service” assistant advised we should have paid extra to pre-reserve a seat (a no cost option on Qantas). Then when we entered the plane we found that both adjacent aisle seats were in fact vacant. Food was an additional cost item - on an 8 hour flight. Those unlucky enough to ask for a meal late found that there was nothing left for them. Entertainment was also an additional cost item - when paid for the selection was extremely limited, the system slow. The entertainment froze up requiring a reboot. Though not the airline’s fault, the person behind was very fidgety, making it very uncomfortable for anyone sitting in front of him. If the seats were slightly further apart we might not have had that experience either. All in all not the best, given that we had booked with a full price airline and ended up on a budget airline instead."

Cons: "I didn't check in my bag, didn't bother to weigh it. They weighed it at boarding and it was too heavy (my bad, I probably should have checked) and had to be checked in. My gripe is that they made me pay $60 even though my ticket included a free piece of luggage. Their argument was that I didn't use that facility at check-in and therefore waived the right to that piece of check baggage."

Cons: "They choose to weigh bags just as we were boarding and as I was 1kg , I had to check in my bag , but apparently it has to go on the next flight. So now I have to wait for 2.5 hers in Sydney for my bag and had to pay $50 for the inconvenience. I would expect this from Tiger not Jetstar"

Cons: "Shame the staff were not more friendly, I took my rubbish to find a bin and the flight attendant expressed her annoyance and me. Asking her where I can put it. They don't smile and when you asked a question they treated me like I was a nuisance"

Pros: "Due to storms a 1 1/2 hour delay which is understandable until I found a friend on Qantas left on time. Delay on all Jetstar to Sydney and that afternoon but unaccountably Qantas mostly in time."

Pros: "It got me to my destination on time. Web check in for this leg of my flight made things quick. Didn't have checked luggage so that was ok."
Cons: "Jetstar is not a quality airline. Customer service is lacklustre. Cramped space. Plane seemed dirty and the air during takeoff and landed really smelled bad. Food and drinks way overpriced and not good."

Cons: "Flight delayed out of Adelaide. Terminal 4 at Tullamarine is badly designed - drop of/fpick up long way from booking in and gates long way from booking in area. Disembarking on to tarmac in pouring rain unpleasant - no umbrellas"

Cons: "Seat did not recline. Crew said was broken. Second crew said didn't recline because near exit. Think should be informed of this when allocated seat"

Cons: "On the outward trip in business class, I was sitting across the aisle from a man who was so sick with the flu that he should not have been flying. I was going on a diving holiday. Yes, I caught it, predictably."

Cons: "plane was half hour late leaving because JetStar does not allow enough time for turn arounds from plane arriving from elsewhere. That said, the pilot did do his best to catch up for lost time once in the air."
