Pros: First let me say I am a big fan of Philippine airlines. The customer service is outstanding, I am always made to feel very comfortable and the movie selection is great. I would give them a 10/10...if it weren’t for the surprisingly below-average special meal selection....read on...

Cons: I have been a gluten-sensitive foodie for 7 years. I am not vegetarian. I still eat sugar, salt, spices, dairy, and fat. I have order a GF special meal for the past 3 or 4 trips I’ve flown but I always end up asking for one of the regular meals instead because the GF meals are SO awful. They are completely devoid of all salt, sauces, spices or any flavor, and are so bland that it’s like eating astronaut cardboard food. For example...the last flight I took (Manila-San Francisco), the regular meal options were a chicken sausage dish with some mashed potatoes and veggies, a wonderful colorful julienne vegetable salad, a flan pudding (GF by nature) and some bread with butter. The other option was a delicious smelling pork belly over rice (seriously some of the best pork belly I’ve ever had) and some veggies with the same sides. Everything was gluten-free except for the bread roll and looked much more colorful and fresher overall. By contrast, the GF “special” meal that I received was a plain chicken breast with no salt, steamed veggies that were overcooked and mushy to the point of colorless baby food, with no spices or sauces, a watered-down fruit salad, a rice cake with no butter and a banana instead of dessert. I was amazed at how bland and flavorless it was. Gluten-free does not mean sugar-free, low-fat, or dairy free. It simply means the absence of wheat flour. I still like sauces and spices. And I still like butter. A non-fruit dessert would have been nice. And since when does gluten-free mean flavor-free? I would have MUCH rather preferred the regular meal option with just a gluten-free rice cake substitute. Thank god they had extra regular meals for me to eat instead. Point being…if you’re not extreme celiac and just gluten-sensitive, I recommend ordering off the regular menu and just omitting the bread roll. The flavorless meal isn’t worth it!

Pros: Good food, relatively comfortable for a 13 hour flight

Cons: The entertainment system was modern, but not that many good, English-language movie or TV options. I found it difficult to get wine and black tea (they served green) - both of which are essentials for a long-haul flight. Flight was a little late. The security lines for transfers at the Beijing airport is a complete mess, which was the most stressful part of the trip.

Cons: Air China practices very democratic way (in a bad eay) of boarding the plane, without distinguishing the 1st class, busineas class, and Star Alliance members from the rest of the passengers. The food is abit overly simple, in spite of the short flight - a sendwich wrapped in an alu-foil... And it was crazy cold in the cabin.

Pros: the timliness the processing at beijing the helpful checkin people at the akl airport. The baggage delivered promptly and without breakage. The crew worked hard to ensure

Cons: the shops at air port are expensive the toilet sinks were slopping and did not drain well the airline apologizing for the lack of food choice before each service pl advise airline to ask for choice at the check-in or at least make a note of the preference through email, makes life easier for them and the passengers. announcements were in chinese and the english ones were not very clear . it would be good if the announcements also came up on the seat screens CLEANLINESS WAS AN ISSUE with the overhead lockers not clean to the pull up table and magazine spaces not clean

Pros: Crew was nice to direct you to where your seat is. Food was good.

Cons: Snacks n drinks..water or soda offered after few hrs from dinner. Passengers should not ask for drinks or snack. I mean crackers or biscuits few hrs in mid flight. Even if passengers are mostly asleep, a crew member can walk down aisles with a tray of snacks. This will help some people wha mught not like the food or type 2 diabetic people who needs to eat n drink every 2 to 3 hrs. Signage on boarding gate is not clear. Your flight number and boarding time was in small projected sentences under a huge lettered former destination place.

Pros: Pleased that the flight departed on time and arrived 50 minutes early. Sad that waiting for my luggage frittered away the time we gained by arriving early.

Cons: Having your bags tagged as “priority “ really doesn’t mean anything. Watched nearly two flights’ luggage go by on the carousel before mine came out. This is becoming the norm over the past several months for most airlines and airports. I don’t mind waiting for my bags. I do mind waiting with a false expectation of priority service.

On board, the cheese and cracker snack pack I got was great, nice to see complimentary snacks and drinks being maintained. Onboatd wifi via the app worked well and was actually able to use inflight entertainment on hand held device online the Sydney to Melbourne leg

Pros: I was in a window seat for this flight with no one in between me and the man in the aisle. It was nice to have some space to spread out in.

Cons: I am about 6 feet tall and the leg room was terrible. I was thankful that the person in front of me did not recline, other side their head would have been in my face.

Cons: The flight was delayed 1 hour. we get on plane. then an announcement that in previous flight plane hit a bird so they needed to dissemble the plane. we got off plane at 11:26 pm. waited there. received a text announcement it would leave now at 2 am. the staff on site did not announce this information till 12:45 am. we waited and then got good news flight was going to take off. not in a logical way the plane took off all our luggage off the plane. and then could not add our luggage back on to the plane because tsa was now closed. so paperwork for getting luggage was poorly committed. not bright people. I hope my luggage arrives like they say a day later.

Prices are per person, are for e–tickets and include all taxes & fees in AUD.

We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller.
At KAYAK we don’t set the prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We compile tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we can't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find, on occasion, that certain prices are no longer available.

If you have more questions or if you have a bad price to report to us,
