Cons: "Flight cancelled, then booked by Virgin without consultation, onto a flight via Sydney that would take 6 1/2 hrs to get there, had to request another flight but still lost most of the day of my holiday, plus left with many phone calls re change of rental car, arrival , parking bookings, and no compensation and then stress when I got to the airport and was told that despite being "booked " on the much later flight, now I might not actually have a seat. I had to wait while attendant at counter tried to find seats and only watch as they were taken by someone else several times. So unnecessarily stressful and misleading. Lost my original seats, had to sit separate from my companion, and no real concern by Virgin about their impact on customers' plans. Last time I flew, the plane was cancelled, and we had to wait hours for another one in the terminal, so I missed the body corporate meeting that was the ONLY reason I was flying to Brisbane, paying for overnight accommodation and car rental and flight and I MISSED it. Huge cost for NOTHING, as despite driving straight to the meeting, it was just finishing. Whilst at the airport trying to fly home, I heard another Virgin flight cancelled , again due to "unscheduled maintenance". Seems that maintenance and mechanical problems are common and way more common than they should be. So that is a big worry!"

By default we were supposed to be separated 2 and 2 members of family, sitting each group with a stranger, each in aisle seat... well thought through, but my 2 year old would not sit still 14 hours in the middle seat as he wanted to walk and go to play with his dad and brother... anyway, good job Virgin Australia. 2. No botlarfing tickets from LA to Brisbane were given to us by not so nice lady at the checking in NY. We ended up looking for Virgin Australia booth in LA, which delayed us so much that the plane was waiting for our boradibg... I was unable to even change diaper or get mild for my little son.3. Another frustrating situation was when the same "virgin America" representative in Newark forgot to put out Global Entry on our boarding tickets and we had to go through a regular check in. 4. The same Virgin america person asked us to repackage 6 suitcases due to 1.5 pound over weight, although looking at the scale, scale was giving a different weight the same suitcase when measured a few times after.... 5. You have to pay for food from Ny to LA. I did not expect it as my experience with quantas on the way from NY to Brisbane via LA was different."

Pros: "Airplane was divided into separate sections which made the overall flight quieter than other airlines. The seat spaces were larger than other airlines making it possible to actually sleep. They gave us blankets, pillows and eye covers, unlike other airlines, and plenty of food. The quality of food was good, too. Overall for a 14 hour flight, an excellent experience."

Cons: "I booked this flight for my mum who has dementia. I was told o pick her up at the excess baggage area, where her walker would be and that she would be brought by staff there via wheelchair. After 45mins and no mum, I asked staff where she was. They said they were waiting for me at the gate as they didn't have enough staff to bring her, and I couldn't take her walker through security, so I had to go there and pick her up (passing 4 staff members with golf carts just sitting and waiting). luckily she wasn't distressed, but when I got to her, the man at the desk was then told over the radio tthat he could bring her down... poorly organised. Not the end of the world, because she was okay, but it could have been really upsetting for her otherwise."

Which in the airline industry happens often I understand just crazy how many things went wrong that day."

Flight cancelled by carrier no viable options offered by phone representative held on the telephone for over an hour whilst travelling to airport in an attempt to get a flight home. Holiday cut short, had to return rental car 1/2 day earlier than what had been paid for, lunch reservations had to be cancelled and no responsibility accepted by Jetstar representative. Well they have definitely lost me as a customer, none of the companies I own would treat a customer in such a manner we believe that we NEED customers to stay in business. Then to top it all off had a hour and a half travel time from Bne as opposed to half an hour from Coolangatta."
