Why can't USA folks and TSA figure this out? Updates from flight deck were good and pilot seemed to avoid some expected turbulence. Cabin crew friendly, competent, helpful. Food was very good, nice touch with comp wine. Entertainment options were many and good variety. Hope to fly ANZ again someday."

So there I am from the USA in a foreign country boarding a flight being asked to pay 500 nz dollars for a few kilos when I had already paid for it. Having to produce emails and payment information on something I had done months in advance. Overall I won’t recommend virgin next time I’d book directly with air New Zealand"

Pros: "Booked these flights though Kayak. Landing from LAX at 0730 at Auckland international terminal and then departing at 0900 from the domestic terminal. This is not enough time, doesn’t allow for customs and immigration. It was a really stressful experience running between terminals with my luggage, as there was less than a 1 hour window after getting through customs and immigration, so the bag drop at international wouldn’t accept them. Got to departure gate 12 minutes before plane departure. You need more time to have a good experience !"

Pros: "We flew Air Canada’s Economy Plus from Vancouver to Sydney and Air New Zealand’s Economy Plus from Auckland back to Vancouver. NZ’s Economy Plus product is far and above AC’s. Everything from the welcome, to the meal, to the level of service is great. I really felt that NZ treated the Econ Plus cabin as distinct from Economy (including having 2 dedicated washrooms), whereas on AC it felt like we were merely Economy with better seats. I compare NZ and AC because we were so genuinely impressed with what we purchased. We would definitely book NZ Econ Plus again, and the January seat sale is a great time to do so!"

Cons: "Customer service and ability to sort out technical issues were truly appalling. My touch screen monitor crashed and the controls that would enable me to alert crew members for any concerns also didn't work. Both issues happened twice. The second time, I informed them that if these technical issues continued to fail and couldn't be resolved, I needed to be placed in another seat, of which I specifically told them was not to be a seat far behind my current row seat. Instead, they went and offered me a seat that was 22 rows behind, especially after I had paid extra fees to sit in the seat I was given higher up the aisle. I also informed them that I wasn't feeling well and the closer I was to the exit when we landed, the better. They ignored these concerns. That is unacceptable considering that it was their system that was faulty in the first place that led to these problems. Their staff also failed to regularly walk the aisles to ensure customers were okay with the service. I've been on planes whereby the crew is constantly walking around to ensure everyone is being taken care of. For example, I had a great experience with Korean Air where I saw staff every 10-15mins checking on customers. Air New Zealand completely failed in this regard. When my system crashed the second time, because I couldn't call anyone in the crew using the controls on my touch screen, and the person sat next to me was asleep (didn't want to wake him up to use his device to call!), I waited 25-30mins before going up to the crew station to seek help. I had to wait an additional 10-15mins before I even saw someone at the crew station. There are some other issues I encountered but the above were the main ones. This is the first time I've actually had to criticize an airline for it's customer service. I've been travelling for over 25 years and never encountered what I did today. I certainly won't be flying with them again."

When it comes to boarding time, we were all directing out but not indicating which door is closer to our seat. An agent needs to coach passengers outside or even when announcing boarding time -- indicate what seats should go towards the back versus the front door."

We reallocated seats which had us all jammed up the front and back with rows of empty seats in between. Not good enough Qantas! I asked to change and the cery pleasant hostess said no we were NOT allowed. I do NOT understand this."

After booking through KAYAK for flights, the on-line check-in process was a nightmare with the KAYAK booking number not matching the information required by QANTAS. As my children were all spread over the plane, and two son's look very similar, a hostess almost did not serve one of my son's a meal as she believed my son had already received a meal further forward in the plane. Thankfully, upon checking, the hostess realised that it was a case of mistaken identity."

Pros: "The Singapore Qantas lounge is well set up, despite one or two small issues. Boarding was easy after the usual Singapore gate lounge procedures. On board the crew (led by Brigita) could not have been better. I LOVE the 1 -2 - 1 business configuration. Meals and refreshments on board were just great and I enjoyed that the crew didn't disturb me (Emirates are particularly rude in this regard) when it was clear I was sleeping until descent."

I should have booked Qantas instead of Virgin."

Cons: "The flight was delayed which caused us to miss the last shuttle bus for the car hire company - we had to catch a cab instead - luckily the car hire company reimbursed us for the cab fare, even though it wasn't their fault."

Cons: "Staff rude..was very cold and we also dindt get any glass of water never use this company anymore"

Cons: "Well I thought I was never going to see my family again as there was so much turbulence. At one time I thought the plane was going to tip over. I’m a regular traveler and have traveled the world but never encountered anything like this before. The weather seemed fine . There was no rain or thunder. So what could have caused so much turbulence?"

Pros: "Loved we departed on time & landed a little early"
Cons: "That we had to abort a landing & circle round to try again."

Pros: "We paid for extra legroom seats because we were so uncomfortable on the flight up to Cairns. It was worth the money to be comfortable. As it happens it was an older plane with more room anyway."

Cons: "Was disgusted that I had only a 6kg small carryon suitcase & a laptop in my handbag (6kg) and had my carryon taken off me & put on the next flight & not getting delivered until 10pm tonight!!! Plus had to pay $60 and buy some clothes to wear to event tonight as luggage won’t arrive in time. Will never fly Jetstar again!!!"

Cons: "5 people checked in but didn’t show up at the gate Which made for a late take off so when we landed in Brisbane I didn’t have enough time to even get food or exchange my money as I had planned. Which in the airline industry happens often I understand just crazy how many things went wrong that day."

Pros: "Stormy weather made for a bumpy ride but that is no ones fault. Everything else as one would expect from a short flight"

Cons: "Kayak didn’t allow me to add luggage to my booking and forced me to go through Jetstars website and alter my booking. Here, the site only let me add luggage to my trip up. At the airport, completely unaware of the situation, I was made to look stupid then hit with a $60 “amendment” fee. On top of all that, my flight home was delayed an hour. This is the second time in 2 months this flight has been delayed."

Cons: "40 min delayed!!"

Pros: "Very capable crew flying in terrible conditions with high winds. Flights after our take off were suspended due to appalling weather."
Cons: "There's little to like. Extremely cramped conditions. Poor food and beverage. Avoid if you possibly can."

Cons: "Hidden last minute weight fees on carry ons. In our case an extra $360. This is apparently a common complaint. Terrible scam."

Cons: "Customer service and Jetstar CANNOT be used in the same sentence. Flight cancelled by carrier no viable options offered by phone representative held on the telephone for over an hour whilst travelling to airport in an attempt to get a flight home. Holiday cut short, had to return rental car 1/2 day earlier than what had been paid for, lunch reservations had to be cancelled and no responsibility accepted by Jetstar representative. Well they have definitely lost me as a customer, none of the companies I own would treat a customer in such a manner we believe that we NEED customers to stay in business. Then to top it all off had a hour and a half travel time from Bne as opposed to half an hour from Coolangatta."

We were under the 7kg checkin bag requirements so they started weighing our personal items to put us over so they could charge another $50. Cons: "We (I, my wife and son ) did not know our booking with no baggage. The woman asked me $100 baggage fee when we checked in. However, total weight with our three baggages is only about 30 Kg. Each baggage is accord to the carry on boarding rule. In fact, we only want to check in one baggage. But, she told me $50 per baggage. She cheat us. Buy 20 Kg baggage only need $24 in Jetstar internet."

Pros: "Nice new plane. On time. Infant travel cot can be checked for free."
Cons: "Turned up at the airport and they wanted $50 for the first 15 kg then $15 PER KILO for checked baggage. I had tried prepaying on my mobile phone and they wanted $50 plus a $25 service fee. Turns out if you use a laptop there is no additional $25 fee. Don't wait until you get to the airport to pay for checked baggage! Only free beverage is water. Soft drinks are charged for. No free pretzels or anything."

Pros: "The jetstar staff at check in counter were very helpful"

Cons: "Poor service - white wine was served warm and they refused to exchange for another. Poor hygiene - there was crumbs all over the floor and on my seat, and used gum stuck to the seat in front of me."

Cons: "I don't happy to change our flight. We have to arranged all the schedule,if jet star don't fly at that time please do not sell the tickets.(we book the flight at 21:10 changed to 18:15)"

Cons: "I arrived from the international terminal before my first flight with Jetstar with my suitcase and backpack and was told to pay >$300 in additional bag fees. Not only that, the staff person insisted that I check in my backpack (not a large backpack) and then pay a large sum for checking it in. Jetstar staff are CROOKS- there was no need to check in the standard size backpack. The staffperson also LIED- I said that I would store the bag at the airport and the staffperson said it would cost the same. NOT TRUE. There is an option to store the bag at the hotel for MUCH LESS."
