To add to the anxiety, we noticed that none of the bassinet seats were allocated to parents with infants. There were at least 3 families with infants and lots of children due to school holidays. But we all had to make do with our cramped seats. Maybe Qantas can plan this better. It isn’t so difficult as they usually know how many infants are travelling, in advance."

Had to collect my bags, go through customs, recheck bags, take a shuttle to a domestic flight terminal, go through security, then I hear over the speaker it was the final boarding call for my flight, had to run again. I am a 56 y/o woman, was not fun. When I arrived in Cairns at about noon, I found that my bag missed the flight. I was told my bag would be delivered to my hotel in Palm Cove that evening, I received my bag the next morning. The flights into and out of LA were run by Delta, the flight from Sydney to Cairns was VIrgin Australia."

Not only was my last-minute Virgin ticket cheaper than Jetstar, I didn’t have to pay the ridiculous extra baggage fees Jetstar charges, and a meal with alcohol was included in my flight. Virgin all the way!"

I paid around $100 for each leg of my journey around Australia, Malaysia and Bali and it really added up. I had prepaid for the Air Asia flights, meaning I had to weigh my one checked bag, but didn't catch JetStar's rules until too late to do online. This resulted in additional fees, according to airport personnel."

I tried to do it online, but wouldn't accept my payment. Got to airport, long line, tried to use kiosk to complete check in, wouldn't allow me to. Waited in line, only to be told I had a payment due and had to go to service desk. My friend was checking in with me, and did not have to pay for luggage. Meanwhile the gate agent changed her mind, said she could accept my payment there, then we had to go through the exercise of lightening our carry ons (which we had made heavier to avoid excess baggage fee). So I ended up paying for bags, friend did not, yet we had the same bags/weights. Flight was delayed 15 minutes per the kiosk, when asked gate agent, she said it was not, but in reality it was. not a pleasant experience, policies not clear and not uniformly enforced. Flight itself was ok. I probably will not fly Jetstar again."

Pros: "They were super nice and did not charge me for boiling water and tap water as I made my own meal on the plane. They gave me an extra-large cup which made it easy for me to make my freeze-dried meal!"
Cons: "Reading the reviews - I also got the impression from Kayak that there would be 1 free checked bag. It took 2 hours for me to get my bags upon arrival, so I was almost unable to re-check my bags when the layover was almost 3 hours. I had to take a cab from the international airport to the domestic one, rushing to make the bag check-in deadline, and then get there to see the flight delayed 30 mins. The delay is not the problem, stuff happens, it was the lack of communication, from start to finish that was frustrating. Other airlines have texting and email services, and offer to check bags right outside of customs. I was glad to have brought my own food - $10 for 5 tablespoons of rice? $7.50 for instant noodles? at least the portion size looked OK. The flight staff were very nice, but I felt like the girl at the bar only drinking water."

Cons: "This is a review of a different flight I took as titled. I tried to write with a previous link but it did not work. During the flight, I went to the washroom and as I was there, the seatbelt light went on. As I was trying to hurry up to finish, the flight attendant started banging on the door telling me I needed to get back to my seat. I replied I was coming (twice) but she kept banging on the door and yelling that I needed to go back now. This happened about 4 times in 30 seconds. I was moving as quickly as I could. She then proceeded to unlock the door - which I then immediately re-locked. And I replied with that I was moving as quick as I could. She then unlocked it again and opened the door about two inches (while I was still on the toilet) and told me I needed to get to my seat. I said yes I’m coming and pulled the door back. There was some turbulence which is why the seatbelt light was lit - however I have never been on an airline that was so abrasive and aggressive like that. I have never been interrupted on the toilet like that when the seatbelt light has gone on. There is a reason the light is also in the washrooms so that customers know the pilots request. I am still so stunned with that response. After the flight had landed, I asked another flight attendant on the same flight about the airline policies in that situation. She said she was surprised that another flight attendant had opened the door on me and I should talk to the manager on flight. When I went to speak to the manager in hopes of her correcting the behaviour of a flight attendant that may not be using best practices, I was informed it it was actually her (Crystal) that had been trying to get me to go to my seat. She was immediately defensive and stood strong in her belief that she needed me to know that I needed to get to my seat right away and she could not hear my response. She said it was a safety concern and wanted to make sure I wasn’t unconscious in the washroom. I pointed out she would have known I was conscious because I had relocked the door after she unlocked it . She came up with another possibility “maybe you were Asian and couldn’t understand English”. I started the conversation calmly and felt she was very defensive from the start. She did verbally apologize, however it was forced, insincere and followed by why she was “in the right”. I don’t know if the above is inline with Jetstars policies however it’s opposite everything I have experienced on any other airline. I told Crystal she made me feel humiliated and that the experience was mortifying and she dismissed that and said it was a safety concern. I hope that this isn’t a jet star policy and that staff can be told how to deal with a situation such as the above. If it is in line with what Jetstar wants their staff to do I will definitely never be flying Jetstar again and advising my friends and family to do the same. At the airport, completely unaware of the situation, I was made to look stupid then hit with a $60 “amendment” fee. On top of all that, my flight home was delayed an hour. This is the second time in 2 months this flight has been delayed."

Pros: "The cabin crew were most helpful in helping me get out of the plane first, and escorting me into the terminal to find the fastest way of getting to the international terminal. I am most thankful to them."
Cons: "The flight left 2+ hours late and I nearly missed my international connection in Brisbane"

Cons: "On the outward trip in business class, I was sitting across the aisle from a man who was so sick with the flu that he should not have been flying. I was going on a diving holiday. Yes, I caught it, predictably."

Cons: "Extremely disappointed in this airline. Got to the airport for my flight from Auckland to Sydney to discover my checked bag for my flight had been canceled on my ticket and then was forced to pay $116 USD to check one bag for a 3 hour flight because of a mistake made by THEIR system! When I asked if there was any other options I was told to make my bag lighter for carry on by abandoning some of my belongings or that I needed to pay the fee. None of the staff was willing to even check if there was any other option or to look into why my baggage allowance mysteriously disappeared off my ticket. God help anyone who can't afford to pay this ridiculous "airport baggage fee", they'll be left stranded. Jetstar is obviously more interested in profits than their customers. I will NEVER fly with this "airline" again!"

Cons: "Change the boardkng Gate last minute. Impossible to Check in our luggages with the iPhone app. Extra cosy 160$ ridiculous!!!! Few flight personnel for checkin, long waiting Time ."

Cons: "We (I, my wife and son ) did not know our booking with no baggage. The woman asked me $100 baggage fee when we checked in. However, total weight with our three baggages is only about 30 Kg. Each baggage is accord to the carry on boarding rule. In fact, we only want to check in one baggage. But, she told me $50 per baggage. She cheat us. Buy 20 Kg baggage only need $24 in Jetstar internet."

Pros: "Nice new plane. On time. Infant travel cot can be checked for free."
Cons: "Turned up at the airport and they wanted $50 for the first 15 kg then $15 PER KILO for checked baggage. I had tried prepaying on my mobile phone and they wanted $50 plus a $25 service fee. Turns out if you use a laptop there is no additional $25 fee. Don't wait until you get to the airport to pay for checked baggage! Only free beverage is water. Soft drinks are charged for. No free pretzels or anything."
