Pros: "To be honest I had a pretty bad flight because my allergies exploded during the entire flight - constant sneezing, runny nose, you name it. However, the attentiveness of the crew really made up for it. The cabin was decorated with tiny wreathes (so cute!), and the pillow/blanket was very comfortable/warm for an Economy seat. Although I did not use it as much, the entertainment seemed top-notch. And the crew-- they noticed that I was not feeling well, and offered me peppermint tea and snacks that did sooth things a bit (you can request for snack/beverage refills anytime!). I loved that they gave out black socks to the passengers too (I prefer taking my shoes off during the flight, so the socks added warmth & prevented my own socks from getting dirty). All in all, it was one of the best-serviced long flights I had, not to mention probably the most affordable price I paid for my annual trip to Korea (from LA)."

What bothered me even more is that when the woman asked the flight attendant to tell me to put my seat up, the flight attendant complied instead of telling the woman it was my seat to do as I wished. Why make the seats recline if they are going to bother the people behind? Why tell me to put my seat up if it was not a requirement for all (ie during take off or landing)? I did not appreciate this and it made my flight extremely uncomfortable."

Cons: "Four travelers were seated in 4 different areas on flight from Hong Kong to San Francisco flight. Three of us of us were senior citizens. Two had disabilities and were.not accommodated in any way by Cathay Pacific (CP) while loading in the four areas of the plane. Those of us that we're physically able could not help those with mobility issues because of the proximity of the seating, I could not pre-check or request different seats on the CP website. I think that this was because of issues with the website, apparently due to IT system communication between American Airlines and Cathay Pacific.......on all six flights. On the transfer in San Francisco, Customs was closed when we arrived in San Francisco and we had to haul all of our baggage from one terminal to the other. There was no direction on how to handle this issue of Customs being closed while on the flight to San Francisco. I had to explain the issue of to the CP customer service crew in SF. The CP desk and they had never heard of it. American Airlines was equally poorly trained. I will also say that while at the CP customer service, there were three young adult males that we're not busy at the time and the watched us unload the baggage carts onto the scales and conveyor and then reloaded on to the carts to push to the AA terminal. We handled the bags two additional times because the CP staff did not know what to do and how to handle it. Other passengers were confused as well. I traveled internationally to Asia three times now on CP and the first two were excellent. In the past had had flown other carriers on out trips to asia. This experience on this flight was beyond bad. I had plan on several more trips to Asia the next three years, and I will say that at this point, I will not fly CP again. Something needs to change. A call to me is in order. I witnessed several gaps in CP systems and other issues with training the staff. Your survey did not specify the flight crew. Except for the loading issues and the lack of information about Customs being.closed at SF, the service was world class...what I had come to expect from CP"

I had a pre-selected (vegetarian) meal which was both meagre and mediocre when flying out of JFK. It was a grossly insufficient amount of food for the long duration of the flight. I had what was essentially a small tray of chickpeas for 'breakfast'. Crazy! 3. The noodles that are on offer for snacks throughout the flight were chicken or beef. Vegetarians do not have anything to eat except cookies and some fruit (which goes quickly when set out!) 4. No eye mask, earplugs, toothbrush or toothpaste. These are basic amenities. Had to ask for an eye mask and then one was provided. Some airlines even provide in-flight socks (and yes, I am talking about economy travel here)."

I am sure if she was given a child's meal she would not have got this. We were then told we have to advise the airline 12 hours before we fly that we want a child's meal. Cons: "Same shows and movies on different segments of flights. Same shows etc 4 weeks later on return trips, 15 to 11 hours long time. Also limited selection Red wine undrinkable What would stop me flying again next year! Manila Airport!!!! Small cramped smelly. Most food shacks do not take credit card and no atms to get cash, come on this is 2018. Also my wife was unable to get her seats confirmed in Thailand for comection in Manila to Vancouver which meant having to line up in the basement in Manila and then argue that we wanted our seats together for the long haul home."

Cons: "During flight- attendant would put her hands all over the cups when filling up water etc. I could not even get water after watching how she handled things that guests would be drinking out of. The flight was - freezing. I turned my light on, no one came to me. I then went and found an attendent (2 different times) and discussed that it was very very cold. I asked to see if they had another blanket, they said no. They didn't do much to change the temperature. I watched for 15 minutes, and no one went to change it. Once they did, it didn't help the situation. Later I requested again, and similarly nothing happened. The food- terrible. Dried up hashbrowns, that were overcooked. Meat, I couldn't even eat."

Cons: "Wish they would have warned us that we would be on lock down in the terminal at Manila when we went through security early. Cause we had to wait by the gate for 6 hours in a terminal that didn't have much else. Upstairs of Terminal 2 had no accommodations or restaurants/cafes. Just food stands. Still not bad though, would have been a nice warning though."

(I mean, why not have extra vegetarian options available; and beef being the only option is unacceptable for so many reasons, including that there are some religions that don't allow beef.) Lack of wifi and entertainment for an 8 hour flight is ridiculous."
