Pros: "One of several preferred airlines when flying to Asia. Really enjoy their service, and it's wonderful to wake up to many beauties in view!"

The four PINS generated by the counter staff did not work. We all took turn to try to no avail. by then we have walked too far from the counter we could not be bother going back. No airport that I've been to had poor internet service connection like this airport, yet it is supposed to be THE WORLD'S NUMBER ONE AIRLINE. We boarded at 11.30pm, last time we flew with them they gave us supper. Last night they gave us only water. We went to sleep hungry till the morning. Since when they started to operate like those cheap airlines that you have to pay for your food? And the night package did not have eye mask.... how could we sleep... ? Singapore airline could learn from Qtar. Very very disappointed."

Cons: "Plane condition: Cosmetic plastic panel below monitor and seat back pocket on Seat 31E fell off when foot rest was lowered; had previously been secured by adhesive tape. Panel removed by crew. In-flight entertainment system: Persistent intermittent loss of sound while listening to movie or TV program. Food: Tried to use "Book the Cook" feature touted by Singapore's website. Was unable to get on site for that purpose. The last try a message appeared (late September) that site was being "rebuilt." On the flight, there was no menu of choices; we were offered 3 vaguely worded choices which boiled down to beef, chicken or vegetables. Those appeared in not particularly appetizing forms and combinations--P.S., we like east and southeast Asian cooking and had just spent 3 weeks in Japan. Failure to provide information about possible delays due to WRG deplaning location at LAX: Although we are frequent fliers to and from LAX, we'd never heard of the WRG. It would have been helpful if the crew had informed us upon arrival that there could possibly be a wait on the plane as buses were used to transport us approximately 1/2 mile to TBIT. Generally: We chose Singapore because of its reputation for excellence. Belying the name of the class, both Turkish AL and Air NZ treated Premium Economy passengers as "junior" business class. Singapore treated us as coach with a roomier cabin and seating pitch."

Cons: "First experience with Singapore where the crew made a negative impression. As soon as the plane pulled away from the terminal, crew members seemed rushed and frantic, literally running back and forth from Economy Premium to the galley gathering items. Approximately every 7-10 minutes, crew members would be running back and forth next to my seat with heavy foot steps, which would wake me up. I also noticed that certain crew members were shouting at passengers to get their attention instead of lowering themselves to be heard. One flight attendant almost spilled orange juice on me because she turned around too fast trying to serve drinks. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, or if it was the influence of a certain crew boss, but something was definitely wrong."

Pros: "I booked regular economy and flew to Tokyo that way, but put a bid in for premium economy for the flight home and got it. It's not a big upgrade (bigger display panel, a little more leg room, seat tilt and it has a leg rest) but those things made the flight for me."

I was placed in the back row all the way to my destination and all the way home. I vomited 8 times and felt very sick. I did notice that there were many seats available in the front of the plane but they are never given out as women with babies and children always get them and then single travellers like myself are made sit in the back. I travel a lot, I usually fly Qantas and they are very good at providing seats closer to the front. I will be reluctant to fly Singapore Airlines again due to the fact that they were not accommodating at all."

Pros: "What did I like??? Um, EVERYTHING! First off I got a great price under $850 round trip to NRT from LAX was a steal! They let you check two large suit cases plus a carry on and a personal item. That all FREE!!! I travel pretty light but it was great to know they don't Nickle and dime you for bags or anything else for that matter. Staff looks amazing and treats you first class even when your in economy. They are so polite and really genuinely want to give you a above and beyond experience. And they over achieve at it! They meals are great and very satisfying. The planes are big and roomy even in economy seats. On our return flight we had a brand new plane which had a sleek touch screen monitor and controller. There mad tons of media available (articles, language games, games, movies, tv shows and more) with USB ports to charge devices on each seat. Plus 10inch personal monitors. Earbuds were included free of charge, aswell as socks toothbrush and tooth paste. They have is two big meals on our direct flight (awesome that they have direct flights). Plus, they offered free snacks too and gave us a full can of soda vs. a small cup. They come through several times offering coffee, tea, water and snacks. All free of charge. This was my first time flying Singapore Airlines and I loved it!!! I wish Everyone was this amazing! Norwegian Airlines was the opposite as far as charging for everything! Had to pay each stop for any luggage ($100 per checked bag). No meals free or charge. They wanted money for everything! And yea a skimpy sandwich was $9.00 :(."

Cons: "We were supposed to fly back to Los Angeles from Tokyo on Wednesday, August 24th. We got to Tokyo Narita a little later than planned due to the Narita Express train being delayed. I had received emails that our flight had changed gates, and was then delayed, but when my sister and I went to check into our flight, we were told we were unable to board because it was too late. I thought it was absurd because the flight had not even started boarding, and I had gotten an email saying it was delayed. We tried to reason with them, but they would not let us on the flight. It was imperative that we got back to Los Angeles on Wednesday, but all our plans were ruined due to them bumping us off the flight. My sister had a connecting flight to Boston, which she then had to reschedule and was charged for. We were stuck another night in Tokyo, where we had to spend money on a hotel. The Singapore Airlines attendants eventually informed us that we could get on a flight the next day. This delayed us by 24 hours, which was highly inconvenient. It was also especially unnecessary since due to the flight being delayed, we would have absolutely been able to make it. I do not appreciate being bumped off of a flight due to airlines wanting to make more money, especially being stuck overseas. Its not like it was a domestic flight where we could just hop on another one in the next few hours, this totally derailed all of our plans. I do not appreciate the inflexibility of the Singapore Airlines agents, and this is not an experience that makes me want to recommend flying with Singapore Airlines. I appreciate that they did not charge us, however it was a major inconvenience that could have simply been avoided by better customer service and understanding."

Cons: "This trip was not quite as excellent as my flights on Singapore Airlines usually are; however, I cannot say for sure there was much that airline staff could have done to change this. A great deal of turbulence earlier in the flight made it difficult to enjoy the food. Also, there was a sewage-like smell that wafted through the air periodically - this could have been a child in the surrounding seats, though. Both of these issues seem difficult for the airline staff to address, however, unless the smell actually came from a problem with the ventilation system. The staff was exceptionally helpful and good-natured, though, which made the biggest difference. Thank you so much."

Pros: "I would definitely fly with Singapore again. Their staff is super attentive, they have lots of options for in-flight entertainment and things generally went smoothly. I didn't sign up for a special allergy meal ahead of time but they were able to accommodate me anyways."

On the flights to and from, even though he was on he aisle side seat, it was very difficult for him to have enough room for his legs, thus making my space that much less. In the future, I think we would benefit from booking either the seat behind us for him that had more leg room, or the seats in front of us that were the first seats of all rows."

Cons: "I checked in online, printed the boarding passes as I know japan probably isn’t ready for phone apps for checking in. When I went to the counter, despite being the one holding all the documents (and having organized the whole travel itinerary, the staff only spoke to my husband (Whi hadn’t a clue about the journey) in Japanese. They proceeded to check us in on their computer and insisted that we use their paperwork, not mine. What a farce. What a waste of paper and my time."

Cons: "Our flight was delayed due to mechanical failure and didn't arrive from its destination: Taipei. We were not told about the possibility of our flight being cancelled as we arrived at check-in, we were allowed to check our bags first, issued boarding passes and *then* we were told to come back to check in counter in 3.5-4 hours. Our checked luggage had already been taken and with it, clean clothes, toiletries and other items that could have made the waiting more comfortable. After coffee and a snack we decided to check in to the capsule hotel at Narita. Minimum stay was one night at that hour of the day - for stays after 6pm. While I appreciated that Cathay got us out later that evening, the plane we flew was one of the oldest in the fleet: the seats did not recline at all so it was very uncomfortable. It was a late night flight but no one was offered pillows or blankets. (I did receive one upon request). We arrived in Hong Kong in the early hours of the next morning - 3 hours late - after the airport train had finished running so I paid for a taxi home which I normally would not need to do since I already had a train ticket. so my flight experience did cost me some extra money this trip."

Cons: "The first flight to Hongkong was delayed for 1 hour, so the connecting flight to London was change to a flight 10 hours later. Then that 2nd rescheduled connecting flight moved 10 hours later was AGAIN delayed!!! Wasted 1 day that would have been spent nicely in London. What a way to ruin our London vacation by Cathay Pacific."

Pros: "Flight staff was excellent and friendly"
Cons: "our flight form Vancouver to Hong Kong was delayed 3 hours which made our connection in Hong Kong to Denpasar short. This resulted in our luggage not getting to Bali and we had to wait 36 hours to get it. As we were leaving on a tour the next day it made it very difficult to get the airline to understand where we needed our luggage and how important it was to get it. It took numerous phone calls, all of which were costly long distance, to get them to commit to getting our luggage to us"

We must have been a well hydrated flight. Attendants were good with maintaining the tissue paper etc when notified that it had run out Overall a very pleasant experience."

Cons: "You have to pay for EVERYTHING, including entertainment. You may think you have found a great deal, but look at the extras before you purchase. This is the mistake I made. I didn't have a meal because their website was not working for me to pre-order. When I mentioned this to them through chat, they said they have food available for purchase in flight. When I was ready to purchase (the second time they were walking the isles) they said they have no food left and offered me cheese and crackers, to which they then asked me to pay for! So on our 11 hour flight we had 4 crackers and some cheese. Before boarding the plane we were told we were only allowed 1 carry-on and 1 personal item. We left some luggage behind thinking we would not be allowed to take it on our flight. Upon boarding, we saw that the row behind us had large amounts of carry-on forcing our entire row to stow out luggage 4 rows away. I'll never be flying with jet star again."

Cons: "I didn't check in my bag, didn't bother to weigh it. They weighed it at boarding and it was too heavy (my bad, I probably should have checked) and had to be checked in. My gripe is that they made me pay $60 even though my ticket included a free piece of luggage. Their argument was that I didn't use that facility at check-in and therefore waived the right to that piece of check baggage."

Cons: "They don't tell you at the desk that they'd charge 50 dollars at the gate if you bring more than total 7 kilo of all your luggages"

Pros: "Be careful. I booked a return flight from Narita. I was NOT prompted in any vidible way about luggage. As qantas FF and based upon ALL past experience i expected an allownace of 25 kgs to be included. I had NO luggage allwoance. I was charged apprx 400 AUD $ for a 22.8kg bag. I asked to redress thsi for the retrun trip and have since discovered that the details have NOT been updated despite paying! So now I need to call Jetstar and worknthrough the issue."
Cons: "I was not not noticeably propmoted about luggae allowances or onboard food ent and beverage costs which ultimately added 55% to the ticket cost, so a reasobale priced tocket ended up an expensive one."

Cons: "NEW check in procedure with lack of instruction Seat spacing and lack of room in cattle class, first seat I have ever had that it's so called upright position actually bent you uncomfortably forward during take off and landing and I used to work in the industry"

Pros: "They eventually got us to the destination (24 hours late) but it was an ordeal the whole way."
Cons: "Too many to list! After sitting on the plane for 3 hours with the door open freezing us out, the flight was cancelled at almost midnight. They didn't arrange hotel rooms so everyone had to fend for ourselves in finding a place to stay or getting out of the airport at midnight. We had to wait around for 24 hours until another flight. We didn't get extra legroom seats on that flight and they still haven't refunded the upgrade cost I paid and didn't get to use. Their customer service and ground crew were rude through this whole thing. On the next day's flight, it took hours to even get a water from the cabin service crew. Even the cheap price couldn't help us feel better about the POOR service."

Cons: "Food is inadequate for vegetarians and vegans. It is not too difficult to adjust the menus to include more interesting food variations. Virgin, Tiger domestically make a bigger effort. Jetstar cheeses have animal rennet - not necessary in this day and age. Toastie could be cheese and tomato, not only with bacon.. I complained to Jetstar head office, and the response was inadequate. Proof is if they make an effort and change. If another airlines is similar price with better food, I would automatically go with the other carrier. It's all part of hospitality. Jetstar are stubborn. Irrespective of being a low cost airlines - no excuse."

Cons: "Not understanding that online baggage allowance was for checked bags; then having to pay, at the counter, $50/bag and $15 for extra weight over 15 kg. was unreasonably exorbitant. Especially, as there was a notice stating the extra weight was for anything over 20 kgs."

Cons: "No food or drink - at least you could offer complimentary bag of peanuts and orange juice two times during the flight!! Unfriendly crew member on board - she said in a very.bossy way 'Careful of your foor sir' then later intentionally ran into my foot even though I did my best to keep all parts of my body out of the aisle and the offending foot wouldn't have been more than an inch or two at the most into the aisle!! Also the legroom and arm room is very poor indeed - who did you use as your models, pygmies? Also I was charged $100+ for a date change - but I was SURE I clicked the right date, and even if I didn't, you should have a confirmation screen which confirms what the customer is ordering before they finally approve the order."

It would not surprise me if oxygen masks were needed that there would be a charge. I basically despise being nickled and dimed at every turn."

Pros: "The planes were comfortable and boarding was easy. Staff was very gracious. I only gave the food and entertainment 1 star because there really wasn't any. But we weren't looking for any for the price we paid."

Cons: "I arrived for my flight from Narita to Melbourne only to find that I had to walk over 1,000 meters to get to the check-in and terminal even though I was told to go to the Terminal 2 / 3 stop in the Narita train. Once I got to the check-in counter, the line was very long and everyone seemed overworked. By the time I go tot he counter it was getting late. I tried to check in but apparently my eVisa had expired. I have been traveling to Australia countless number of times and normally they process a new visa directly at the airport. I was told by the staff that "this was not possible" and waved me away. They said there was no way to check-in. I stood by the side of the counter and quickly found my own on line service to process a visa. I was able to get my Visa in 10 minutes, and applied for it on my iPhone! My Visa came through, but only just after the cut off time for the flight check in. Despite that fact that flight had not departed, and would not for another 30 minutes or so, they simply closed up the booking counter and left me standing there... They wouldn't even give me any information on what to do or whether my flight would be canceled or credited back. This rates as one of my worst travel experiences. I went back to my hotel in Tokyo, and then decided to fly the next morning on Singapore air. I did not book on Kayak the second time. I don't think I would ever fly JetStar again."

Cons: "Baggage I have to pay it and kayak did not even giving an options during the time I bought a ticket"

Cons: "The flight was freezing. The air conditioning was up way to high. Everyone on the plane was too cold. We were coming from Summer heading to winter and were still in summer clothing. I had a travel blanket, but still was shivering with the cold during the flight. Many people complained, and it was turned down for an hour or so but then it went back to freezing."

Pros: "Some of the staff were very friendly and considerate and we were compensated with free entertainment after a long delay."
Cons: "There was no communication among staff member and zero communication with customers who were transferring. We were left in absolute confusion, had no idea about our connecting flights and had to depend on the staff of other airlines to find out about our flights."

Pros: "I was surprised how comfortable the seats were and how much legroom there was for a low cost airline to fly internationally such a long distance (Tokyo to Sydney). The crew were friendly and we did receive water and tea for free, which was a surprise. The entertainment selection was pretty good and the screens were the nicest HD screens I've seen on an international flight."
Cons: "Had to connect in Gold Coast before arriving in Sydney. I know this is normal for many international flights, but it would have been nice to have a nonstop Tokyo to Sydney. I guess that is why it is a discount airline!"

Pros: "- Pilot warned of expected turbulence prior to take-off - Complimentary Entertainment package"
Cons: "-Delay to flight due to freight loading - Staff did not notify of complimentary entertainment package - departure staff appeared disorganised"

Pros: "Friendly cabin crew, no frills but nice and relaxed."
Cons: "Long walk to the boarding gate in Melbourne, poor design by Melbourne airport having check-in so far from the departure gates without travellators. Could be an issue for people that are less mobile."

Pros: "Best crew I've ever had on a flight."

Pros: "Getting off the plane."
Cons: "No show caused by death. Charged 7000 Yen (~100 AUD) for flight change to a 5 hour slower flight route. Manager told me he had discretion to waive it but "had to make some money on the flight". Disgusting."

Cons: "Its a discount carrier, so what do you expect except to get nickel and dime to death. Too costly, but they were the only airline that offered a direct flight that took 7.5 hours instead of 16 hours like the other major carriers."

Pros: "plenty of room nice staff"

Cons: "This was my first time flying with Jetstar and like many other reviews have stated, the luggage fees are absolutely ridiculous. I had one suitcase which cost me close to $300 AUD, just insane considering it was an international flight. I later found out from another passenger that you have to purchase luggage online - this wasn't clear to me when I booked my ticket. I also didn't realize you have to pre-book your meals. They had "snacks" you could purchase, though they ran out of what I wanted so I settled for a less than satisfying cup of noodles and a tiny meat pie. I was starving on a 10 hour flight! That, plus our delay sitting on the tarmac for an hour, coupled with atrocious customer service (anytime you asked for something, you were clearly "bothering" them) and dirty seats/trays, made this the worst flying experience I've ever had."
