Pros:I’m trying to complete prior question to tell you that it was excellent in every respect, but the system isn’t allowing me to include an answer....everything was perfect....Cons:Nothing....it was the perfect vehicle for what we needed and Hertz was great!!Reviewed 10 Dec. 2020

Pros:Well, first off, I paid $26 total for a rental (the Hertz version of dealers choice, where they pick the car for you). I ended up with a Mustang, and it was awesome.Cons:I had to wait an hour for the car. An hour. I felt like I was in a Jerry Seinfeld bit, asking if Hertz knew how reservations worked. If you’re not in a rush, it’s brilliant. If you have somewhere important to be... might not be great.Reviewed 13 Feb. 2021

Pros:The car was great. It did get a flat but that was no ones fault.Cons:The pick up/drop off/hertz interaction was stressful. The computers were down when I picked up. No big deal, the woman at the counter (I did not get her name, but she was the best part about all of this.) was awesome about it. They did everything manually. My info was never input into the system though, so when the flat occurred, roadside assistance couldn’t help me because I wasn’t in the system. If I was any less capable of changing my own tire and finding a local mechanic, I would have been in trouble. The computers were still partially down at drop off, so everything was still a little stressful. The same woman (again, didn’t get her name, but she was awesome.) was there with a few other employees this time, but everything still seemed stressful; Even just checking the mileage. From a management perspective, it seemed like something was going on with the location, so I don’t think any of the employees were at fault. So, I don’t really know what could have made it better. I just wish I got the woman’s name, because she deserves recognition for keeping my personal experience positive.Reviewed 16 Feb. 2021

Cons:Snow storm in Chicago and Hertz had one person working the counter. Several people were turned away with reservations for a car because they ran out of cars. I called Hertz and asked if they had any available cars and they told me no they were out. However I was able to go on Kayak and book and got reservation for a car. Can you guess who had that car. Yup Hertz! Then we got to hub for the car and stood in line for 3 HOURS!!!!! One person working. 11 people in front of us. So many people missed there connecting flights. It's not like Chicago didn't know this storm was coming and people would be missing flights. That's to Kayak we made it home.Reviewed 17 Feb. 2021

Pros:Nothing. The shop wasn't even open. I walked two miles to pick up this car, and then just had to walk back, and then find another rental (which was a 20 minute taxi away).Cons:Please don't send a confirmation on a rental when it is not possible to get the car.Reviewed 13 Apr. 2020

Terrible, sneaky policy on gas, but good customerPros:I had some issues extending the length of time I was going to need the car for. I wanted to keep the car for one extra day, but in order to do so would have cost an extra $100, or something close to that, on a car I was paying $20 a day for. This was because that one extra day would have made the weekly rate kick in, which is a terrible policy. Anyway, after getting nowhere with the woman at the overseas call center, I called up the branch I rented the car from and talked to Adrianna, who was incredibly helpful, and managed to secure my business for the future. If not for Adrianna working her magic and helping me with the price (something the woman at the call center either could not or would not do), I probably would never have rented from hertz again, which is significant as I have been renting a car every week for the last few weeks, and I will continue to have a need for rental cars for the foreseeable future, due to my new job.Cons:Every time I have rented a car from this branch, it has not had a full tank of gas. Once it was a half full tank, once it was a quarter full, and one more time the tank was on E and the woman renting me the car told me that the first thing I do with the car should be to get some gas so I don't run out. As she was telling me this, the sign behind her reminded me that I would be charged $9.99 a gallon for every gallon I failed to replace when returning the car. Everyone knows that ridiculously expensive gas is just part of renting a car, but it takes some nerve for a company to charge that and still leave it up to the next person who rents the car to fill it up. When a car doesn't come and go with a full tank of gas it is just an obvious tactic by the rental company to get a little more money from their customers. If someone returns the car with more gas than it came with, then the company gets free gas, as there is no way for a customer to get credit for accidentally putting too much gas in the car before returning it. And if while trying to avoid giving the company free gas a customer returns a car with less gas than it came with, then the company gets to charge $9.99 a gallon for every bit of gas it is short. This policy is quite unfair to the customer, and every car should be rented out with a full tank of gas, so there is no question about how much gas should be in it upon returning it.Reviewed 3 Jan. 2017

Upcharges and oversell at the DeskPros:The car was clean and reliableCons:Desk clerk boldly lied to me that fuel was over $3.00 per gallon on the street and I should opt to pre-pay for a full tank. I was flustered from the long line and checking another flight in a panic and despite it sounding really irrational and genuinely stating "That's insane, that's not right." I did pre-pay and returned the car flat-out empty, but spend hundreds of driving miles passing stations at $2.29 and $2.39. NPR reported that weeked no Fuel in the country over $2.79. I was also told the third party insurance wasn't accepted despite my pre-buy on that. Having been stung by a different company in Seattle over it, I did opt out and had a very sinking feeling about the pre-buy gas then. Sorting through lies is demeaning. My business will continue into the sharing economy car programs so I can at least rate humans if they lie.Reviewed 28 Nov. 2016
