Pros: The location.
Cons: I stayed at this hotel with my mom for 5 days while on holiday. I don't recommend it. It's overpriced for the amenities provided. The pool is mediocre: it's very small and only good if you have restless children (there's only 5 lounge chairs). The gym was ok. Twice the cleaners did not come to our room as required, and we even ran out of toilet paper because, when the cleaner did come, she did not leave any toilet paper! There's free wifi which was good and the many tv channels. The location is basically the main attraction. My 2 cents is that find a hotel without the gym and pool, and go for the location to save money. And find a hotel with reliable cleaners that speak at least basic English. None of my cleaners spoke any English and did not understand words like toilet paper...

Pros: We booked this friend to stay overnight as our friends were having their wedding at The Ballroom in Park Plaza. Thank god the wedding was good, because that was the only good thing about this hotel!!
Cons: As we were part of the bridal group we contacted the hotel months, weeks and even the day before check in to request an early check in, that never happened!! As an apology because our hair and make up artist was standing in reception, we were only upgraded for 2 of the 4 rooms. During and after the wedding, we got stuck in the lift (which was already broken but not decommissioned) no apology from the evening staff and no acknowledgement of their errors, rather I am told "I am done talking to you". After our party having spent tens and thousands of pounds, this is the treatment we received. No compensation and no complimentary offers to any of us.

It is located close to all the tourist attractions and the subway is nearby to take you to wherever your heart desires. There is good food and entertainment at the hotel if you want to stay in. Pros: The only thing good about this hotel for my situation was the location.
Cons: Reception at the front desk were poorely skilled. Absolutely no communication between them and the customer about how the room is/was going to be. I paid for a room which I thought I was going to receive a decent room with a view. Instead I got a dark closet room with a very small window of the inside of the building, was not worth the ridiculous price per night. I would compare my room to a youth hostel, pretty much just a place to lay my head, nothing more, nothing less.

Cons: Got to hotel at check in time (2:00) and had to wait 2 hours for the room to be ready. My 3:30 engagement was missed do to this issue with check in. I was only in London this one day and the main reason I was there for didn’t happen because of the late check in. Also, the occupants of the room next to mine was slamming their door and making noises up to 6:00 am. It sounded like staff was continuously trying to enter the room. Not a good experience at all

Cons: Beware!! The booking agent Cancelon has a early date trigger converting to a non-refundable reservation after promoting "free cancelation". Its geared to pushing the non-refundable reservation to their site to sell. The listing process was incredibly difficult requiring re-entering all online data resulting in no sale or compensation. Would avoid booking through Cancelon in the future.

Pros: Hotel room was a little smaller than what I was used to but it was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. It was within walking distance of a lot of awesome sights and activities.
Cons: They offered free breakfast in your room if you filled out your request card the night before. I was only able to take advantage of this service once because I never received another breakfast request card.

Cons: The taxi service was very limited due to road work. The hotel seemed to be understaffed. We requested a late check out and were given a 2:00pm checkout only to be called twice and had housekeeping come into the room while I was getting in the shower . They let us know that their next guests had already arrived and were waiting for the room. Our stay included airport transfers and we had given them all our flight departure information, but on our departure day they had not arranged transportation and we had to just pay for a taxi ourselves. The hotel felt like it needed more organization . The hotel is in a historic building and the walk from the lift to our room was very long. The lifts were also were creaky and half way during our stay one lift quit working.

Pros: The location of the hostel was great! My first night there, I walked into town to see the London Eye, Parliament/Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. Then, I walked back. Round trip: 1 h, 30 mins. The hostel is also close to a Tube station, so getting anywhere is a breeze. Staff were friendly, price was good, and there was a good mix of travellers.
Cons: Close to a major road, so you get a lot of noise :( Only two showers and two toilets between approx. 25 people. I'm actually quite surprised it wasn't too much of an issue. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner.

Pros: Staff was very, very friendly and gave details on how to work the lights inside the room, which I was sure to be confused about (because you need to insert your key card to use the lights). They also gave me an extra towel when they saw that two of us were checking in. I appreciate how observant they were.
Cons: Not only was there no shampoo in the bathroom, but the previous guest's used shower gel was still inside the room, with what looked like dried blood or possibly lipstick smeared on the outside. It looks like the staff didn't clean the room thoroughly which made me paranoid the whole time. The room was insanely small. The outer wall of the pseudo-bathroom came right up to the bed.

Cons: We only had one towel in the bathroom although we were a couple, only to find out that the second towel was apparently in a drawer in the room upon checking out. No one told us about it upon checking in. Then a fire alarm went off during the night. No one communicated with us whilst standing in the foyer for 45 minutes, not the staff nor the fire officers ... All of a sudden everyone just moved back to the rooms, surely we should have been advised what caused it and told everything is fine, you can go back now and sorry for the inconvenience? Otherwise it was clean and the location good.

Cons: They should have given me a refund. I was in a hurry to book a hotel before work for the next week and didnt read the terms and conditions. Once I realised I had booked the wrong week I informed them of my mistake, only to be told that I would not get any of my £212 refunded. This was over a week in advance of my check in date which would have given the hotel ample time to fill the room. I was not offered any reduced amount of money back. The ryanair of hotels.

Pros: I try to stay at this hotel every time that I am in London on business because for me it is a perfect location for work and for visiting the theatres of central London. Some good restaurants nearby, especially the burgers at the Steam Engine pub just behind the hotel. Apples at reception are a nice touch and the staff I have always found very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: On a couple of visits I have found the rooms to be cold even with the heating switched to maximum and left on all night. The grouting in the shower and the sealant could do with replacing in some rooms to make the shower appear clean and fresh.

Cons: This is the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever tried to sleep on. My hip hurt from being pocked by springs. I called the front desk about moving to a room with a newer bed, but they said all the beds were "new." Had to flip the mattress and sleep on top of the comforter to make it bearable. Also, the wifi was out for 3 weeks, and when it did return, it was very unreliable.
