Pros: "Crew was very rude both to and from Sydney. Always made people feel like they were a burden and they didn’t want to even be there. Will never fly Delta again, especially internationally."

Cons: "The seat I was in was broken. It moved and I was stuck sitting on metal. There was no leg room. The plane used going to Australia was a lot roomier this plane was old. Some of the flight attendants were very unfriendly and seemed to be bothered by the fact they had to do their job. The entertainment system had to be rebooted multiple times and the usb on the seats didn’t work. They ran out of food during lunch."

I have flown this route many times before and don’t remember turbulence that lasted so long without a change. The seatbelt sign was not on and the plane felt like a small boat in choppy waters."

Spent 30 minutes trying to find a number to someone at Delta to check in & select seat. I was in Australia & all Delta offices were closed because it was Sunday. Although I had an internationally calling plan, no calls to Delta US would go through. finally found someone through a back channel that would help me. We boarded an hour late, and staff would not answer any of our questions about what was going on or how late we would arrive (they sped up the fight so that we landed on time). Flight ran out of drinking WATER after the first service. Half of our section (Economy Plus) was skipped for snacks. An unruly child was allowed to scream for almost the entire flight & was running up & down the aisles. NOTHING was said to the parents by staff members. Was absolutely the worst behaving child with who I've had to fly."

Pros: "I'm an American ex-pat who travels to and from between the US and Australia. I do whatever I can to fly on Australian rather than American airlines, as they are always much better in every regard. But in this case it wasn't feasible, and I found myself on a Delta flight. I'd say the overall experience was somewhere between okay-good. Nothing major to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. The entertainment options were decent. I appreciated the variety of newly released movies. However, I would have liked a greater selection of TV shows, and the availability of more episodes. I also appreciated the availability of internet access, but I don't understand why it has to be quite *so* pricey. Surely they could make a bit more on greater volume if they dropped the price a bit. I didn't purchase access, but I would have if it were 40-50% cheaper. The comfort of the plane seemed the same as any of the alternatives. Boarding and deplaning were as they should be."
Cons: "The service from the crew though was simply ok. They were just friendly enough not to be rude, but no more than that. Virgin Australia and Qantas consistently have much happier crews, who make you feel like a dignified guest, even in economy. The food was average at best, and they served two meals where the Australian airlines would serve three on the same flight. They also offered less in the way of snacks and drink refills. It seemed like they were cutting corners here, which I don't appreciate on a 15 hour flight. Also, they said they "proudly serve Starbucks coffee". After drinking it, I don't think they should be proud of that! Again, overall it was a decent experience. Nothing flashy, but nothing too bad either. If the costs are comparable for your flight, you should certainly choose one of the Australian carriers. You'll get better service from the crew and better food. The one caveat, however, is that Delta has WiFi, whereas at the date of writing this, the Australian carriers do not. While access is exorbitant, if you really need to get some work done on the plane, you might choose Delta for this reason alone."

Pros: "Repair took just under an hour which I think is very good considering the paperwork that is involved. We were informed and everyone on the plane seemed to understand so the handling of the event must have been exceptional..."

The crew was excellent and friendly, Boarding was a bit crazy but in the end we all found our seat. My flight attendant was terrific. Cons: "Connection flight from LAX to Seattle was dropped off of booking completely. When Delta was able to fix the changes in Sydney Australia they put my husbands ticket as a standby instead of putting him in an assigned seat and reported that they couldn't fix it that we would have to wait and get to LAX before the changes could be made again. There was a one and a half hour flight delay from LAX to Seattle. From Sydney Australia to LAX entertainment system didn't work the whole entire flight, they were screaming children the entire flight, and Delta had double booked seats on several different people. There were no apologies and no compensation for any of the incidences."

Pros: "The business class cabin is one of the best in the business with a great seat and onboard product. The food was good and the snack bar is great for when you need something mid-flight. American has one of the best selections of inflight entertainment with tons of movies and TV shows available for their long-haul flights."
Cons: "Boarding at Sydney International Airport was a bit of a chore. There is a pre-screening area where they check passports and boarding passes prior to reaching the gate. People are randomly selected for secondary screening. Give yourself extra time to board."

Pros: "My wife and I have flown on many airlines. This was one of our best experiences. All the staff that we came across were ridiculously helpful and very understanding. Despite us getting held up in traffic and running quite late, staff members of both American Airlines and Qantas were extremely calming and reassuring the whole way through. Flight was extremely comfortable and entertainment was fantastic. Made the trip really easy."

Captain on plane was good. Crew on plane was ok, more socializaing with each other rather than being proactively helpful."

Cons: "On March 18, 2018 Joanne, Kevin, and Allison Sheridan were booked to go from SYD to YYJ and only Kevin took off. We went to the airport and my daughter Allison was too anxious to get on as she had to leave her father behind. After she calmed down we went to get on the flight and the lady at the check in, (Onwsha) said it was too late and we could leave the next day. She changed my tickets on the computer and said if we came on Monday, March 19th there wouldn't be a charge but if it was any other date it would be $150.00 per ticket/person. When I arrived to check in on March 19th I was charged the $300. I spoke to Sharon Smith who was with Air Canada Customer Service Coordinator and I explained I was told something different by the customer agent. I told her if I knew that and I was told by Onwsha I would have went on the flight on March 18th but would not have checked the bags and just taken carry on luggage as my husband was still at the airport and he could bring them when he came over. Sharon Smith said there was nothing she could do and we had to pay the $300.00. It really has left a bad taste for me with Air Canada especially how many seats were spare and I was told something different from Onwsha. Thank you for your time. Crappy lukewarm coffee. Starbucks is right outside security, but of course we can't bring liquids through."

I think they were going for more of a regional food choice flying to Tokyo. But the "snack" of a Cup of Ramen noodles seemed like a slap in the cultural face. I'm American and felt a little offended by the Ramen Noodles. But other than that the experience was awesome!"

Cons: "I missed my original flight because there were no staff at BWI airport counter or secret Air Canada office 55 minutes from flight time. Flight was delayed 35 minutes, but no way I could check a bag or get to gate."

Pros: "This was a boring flight which is a good thing, no drama, no mechanical problems, no weather problems. More leg room than an overseas flight."

Cons: "One of the flight attendants was rather rotund and, as I had an aisle seat, she frequently bumped my arm as she passed by. Not once during the flight from Sydney to Vancouver did she apologize. Otherwise, other aspects of the flight were fine. Air Canada is my number one choice of the airlines when traveling to Australia."

Cons: "There was 2 passport controls, and the plane was late ; therefore, we had to wait 6 hours for our next flight. Knowing that we had another flight to catch - why couldn't they have held up the one going to Seattle? Originally, it was 5 hours for the next flight, but, that flight was delayed. NEVER will we fly through Canada again. Honestly, we can drive from Vancouver to Seattle in 3.5 hours!"

Cons: "No internet, entertainment app was completely dysfunctional, No free snacks, crew was slow to serve, flight home was very bumpy. I was glad to get off the plane."

Pros: "Made bereavement flight -- which was not acknowledged--a nightmare. Frankly no one gave a flying frig."

Cons: "The flight was delayed several times without any explanation or update from Air Canada at all. Everyone was at the gate ready to board at 6:50. The screen didn't indicate that it was going to be delayed. There was no one from the crew or AC at all at the gate until 8:30. No announcement, whatsoever. Then when we finally arrived at SFO, the plane was circling above SFO in a storm for another one hour and fifteen minutes..."

Pros: "The trip to Edmonton was very smooth and right on time. Everything was very good.....including the baby behind us. I will fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "I didn't like the change in gate at Edmonton to Vancouver. No one told us until boarding time. Even tho there was ample time to get there since it was the next door gate, I was in a wheelchair and if it had been any further, it could've been a disaster. We arrived right on time. I'd go Air Canada again."

Cons: "Poor entertainment selection for such a long flight. Very little food for Sydney/ Vancouver leg and I am small eater."

Cons: "Delayed departure and while I was rebooked for the possibly missed connections already in Sydney it was a premature decision as I would have made the connection in Vancouver. Food on a long flight is important - lousy meals and worst sandwich ever!"

Pros: "We had two different tickets, one on ANA and the other for Air Canada. The young lady at checkin linked them, checked our bags through Tokyo to Toronto AND got us boarding passes all the way. Without that help we would have missed our connection in Tokyo. Thanks SO much to ANA."

Cons: "didnt like the cabin crew attendants. Only 1 I interacted with gave off the impression of friendly. When they canceled the flight, the information they sent to me was inaccurate and during the rescheduling process people were short with me and it took forever. When inquiring about a refund so I could find a faster flight home, they told me they couldnt confirm the amount I might be refunded, but it would be hardly anything. Therefore, forcing me to be almost a day late getting home."

Pros: "Great service, friendly staff, fuss-free boarding, good entertainment selection."
Cons: "Plane could have been slightly cleaner (eg replace old, ratty in-flight magazines). Food was reasonable but a bit bland."

Pros: "The flight attendants, especially Theresa, were fantastic. Theresa was very attentive, fun, and made each passenger feel special. The flight crew Supervisor greeted us each by name and leads a spectacular crew. The seat, amenities, entertainment, and food were just amazing."
Cons: "Business class did not have it's own boarding call."

Cons: "* Worst food I have ever had on a plane. The crew did not even know what was in some of the food, which is not comforting if you have allergies. * Entertainment system earphones were so bad they were unusable."

Cons: "When I flew to Toronto the plane left 15 mins late but arrived an hour an twenty min late. No turbulence or trouble, just late. I stepped off that plane to my connector to Paris when boarding was suppose to start but that plane was on an hour delay. The food is just horrible, anyone who has flown knows this, and on both flights first class was the only priority. They got to everyone else when it was convenient. This was my first time flying with Air Canada and will certainly be my last. I'll happily pay a little more for the other airlines. So if you fly with them, good luck to you."

Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable, hurts your back. Couldn't control your own accounting No leg room Didn't know that I had to install an app for entertainment Food was cold and saggy."

Pros: "I had a missed connection due to a problem with the US visa on arrival system being down (mainly my fault for not being adequately prepared). Air Canada staff were very helpful and courteous, they rebooked my flight for the next day and helped me find a hotel for the night. Greatly appreciated!"
